Far too much important news regarding the intolerance of Islam goes under or unreported. As 911 becomes a distant memory, never mind the motivations behind the event; Americans who question the construction of a Mosque a stone’s throw from Ground Zero are publically admonished and vilified by the Progressives and the MSM. Sensitivities aside it was the advocates of Islam that chose this site specifically for its significance and connection to 911, not as an apology to America but as a declaration. “We’re here, we’re Muslim get used to it! Oh, and by the way join us or die.”
The more this commentator learns about the shared goals of Islam and Communism the more parallels are exposed between the two movements. The irony lies in the fact that the Progressives have become the “useful idiots” of Islam. History is not without a sense of humor. After the publication of Salman Rushdie's The Satanic Verses controversy was again incited. The book though widely acclaimed was declared blasphemous by Muslims. The book was banned in India, was burned in demonstrations in the United Kingdom, and was the subject of a violent riot in Pakistan. In February 1989, the Supreme Leader of Iran, Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, issued a fatwa calling on all good Muslims to kill or help kill Rushdie and his publishers. Following the fatwa, Rushdie was put under police protection by the British government. As of early 2010 Rushdie has not been physically harmed since he resides in hiding and is accompanied by body guards whenever traveling, but 38 others have been killed in violence against those connected with the book.

Taslima Nasrin, a poet and novelist, whose works confront sharia and the role of women in society, particularly in Bangladesh, has had a fatwa on her head since 1993. She was met with violent protests for a scheduled speech in November 2002 at Concordia University in Canada, where Benjamin Netanyahu, former Prime Minister of Israel, also encountered violent protests.
In November 2004, Theo Van Gogh was assassinated by a Muslim because the descendant of the brother of the famous artist had made a film that depicted a Muslim woman who was forced into an arranged marriage, abused by her husband, and raped by her uncle.

Artur Suleimanov (49), a Russian Protestant Pastor and convert from Islam, was murdered by a gunman who approached and opened fire as the pastor got into a car outside Hosanna House of Prayer in the capital, Makhachkala, on Thursday 15 July 2010.
A dynamic Christian pastor has died after being shot in the head as he was leaving church, in what is being seen as a bid to intimidate converts from Islam in the strongly Islamic republic of Dagestan.

May 17, 2010 in Kabul, militants shot and killed a prominent Muslim cleric who had called for peace in insurgency-wracked Afghanistan along with two members of his family, the latest in a string of killings targeting figures perceived as pro-government.
Cleric Rahman Gul, his brother and a relative were gunned down in an ambush yesterday while returning to their homes in the Chapa Dara district of Kunar province.
