The President’s actions are so bizarre that they mystify his critics and supporters alike. The strange behavior and the oddities go on and on. Barack Obama’s foreign policy is no less strange. Never before has there been so much inquiry into the ideology of a president. The interpretation of who Barack Obama really is reaches a broad prospective.

He has been called the half-black version of Jimmy Carter and LBJ and an incompetent bureaucratic personality.

One friend recently said, “Obama strikes me as a fairly straightforward Chicago corporatist with, as you say, a liberal left political pedigree.”

However, it would be easy if Barack Obama the President was defined as simply as these comments. There seems to be a more sinister side of Barack Obama that is often examined. It is difficult to identify a man when all of his past records have been barred from the public’s examination.

Before the 2008 election many warnings about Barack Obama were on the Internet, not the mainstream media. In July 2008 the “American Thinker” warned, “American voters must make up their minds about what Barack Obama really believes in, if anything. His recent rhetorical concessions to the center further muddy the waters. “

First, let’s look at the idea that Barack Obama is a Muslim. It is often suggested that Obama is a Muslim because his father was a Muslim as well as his stepfather. He spent his formative years in a Muslim atmosphere in Indonesia, attending a Muslim school as well as two years in a Catholic school.

Speaking of his Muslim friends after 9/11 he said, “I will stand with them should the political winds shift in an ugly direction.”

There’s a reason 24 percent of Americans believe President Barack Obama is a Muslim. Obama spends an inordinate amount of time stumping for Islam. He proselytizes for Islamic goals and dreams like a member of the faithful, such as his speech in Cairo and defense of a mosque being built near ground zero in New York.

Secondly, since Barack Obama’s conversation with Joe the Plumber, numerous conversations, articles, commentators and blogs have suggested that Obama is a Socialist. His policies for the past 20 months would indicate this to be true.

Barack Obama’s socialist backing goes back at least to 1996, when he received the endorsement of the Chicago branch of the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) for an Illinois state senate seat. Later, the Chicago DSA newsletter reported that Barack Obama, as a state senator, showed up to eulogize Saul Mendelson, one of the “champions” of “Chicago’s democratic left” and a long-time socialist activist. Obama’s stint as a “community organizer” in Chicago has gotten some attention, but his relationship with the DSA socialists, who groomed and backed him, has been -generally ignored." Having worked and lived in a socialist country and later in a former communist country two years after the Berlin Wall fell, it is my experience that there is only one step from Socialism to Communism.

Consequently, Americans today do not know why communism is such a devastating ideology, at both the level of plain economic theory and in actual historical practice. It is a remarkably hateful system, based on literal hatred and targeted annihilation of entire classes and groups of people. (Nazism sought genocide based on ethnicity; communism sought genocide based on class.)

Most Americans generally know that the USSR was a bad place and that it was good that the Berlin Wall fell; they lived through that. But they know little beyond that, especially young Americans in college today, born around the time the wall fell. Obama's biggest supporters, “Alienated Youths” are always the easiest targets for any totalitarian creed. It's another sign of political danger.

It means that millions of modern Americans, when they hear that Barack Obama has deep roots with communist radicals like Bill Ayers and Frank Marshall Davis, they don't care; they don't get it. Moreover, the leftist establishment -- from academia to media to Hollywood -- will not help them get it.

Barack Obama’s American grandparents and mother were pro communist. His first mentor as a young man was a known communist, Frank Marshall Davis. Barack Obama refers to Frank Davis as “Frank” in his book. Some have questioned who “Frank” was, but the communist knew who “Frank” was and they knew who Obama is. In fact, one academic in communist circles understands the significance of the Davis/Obama relationship.

I can hear a communist dictator saying that, but not the President of the United States.
Lastly, the idea of Obama’s anti-colonialism ideology has recently been discussed by author Denish D’Souza and former house speaker, Newt Gingrich. Dinesh D'Souza has drawn a torrent of criticism with a Forbes cover story that accuses President Obama of adopting "the cause of anti-colonialism" from his Kenyan father. 

The Forbes piece begins by calling Barack Obama "the most anti-business president in a generation, perhaps in American history. " D'Souza then attempts to tie Obama's policies to his upbringing. "He took his father's dream, his vision, his ideology," D'Souza says in an interview.
“From a very young age and through his formative years, Obama learned to see America as a force for global domination and destruction. He came to view America’s military as an instrument of neocolonial occupation. He adopted his father’s position that capitalism and free markets are code words for economic plunder. Obama grew to perceive the rich as an oppressive class, a kind of neocolonial power within America.”

This theory has a possibility for further investigation considering Obama’s anti capitalism policies and attacks on the rich.

There are other attributes of Barack Obama that should be discussed and may continue for many years. Americans have not yet decided who Barack Hussein Obama really is because he carries a variety of traits and ideology. After four years on the political scene we still have no single objective identity of him as we have had with former presidents.

"In the Alinksy tradition, he was being the person he needed to be in order to achieve the position he needed to achieve He was authentically dishonest."

I am beginning to relate to Velma Hart, an Obama supporter, who questioned Obama at his last town hall meeting in PA, saying “I’m exhausted from defending you.” I feel sorry for her that there is so much to defend. Velma, I’m exhausted too from wondering who the president of the United States really is.
