"You and I have a rendezvous with destiny. We will preserve for our children this, the last best hope of man on earth, or we will sentence them to take the first step into a thousand years of darkness. If we fail, at least let our children and our children's children say of us we justified our brief moment here. We did all that could be done."

Robin of Berkeley - Conservatives Acting Badly

Well, not even a day has passed on my Diva victory that I am confronted with some hate mail. However, for a change of pace, these missives are from conservatives, not progressives.

It seems that some conservatives have taken umbrage to my win. The reason, it appears, is that I penned an article recently entitled, [Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell, Don’t Repeal! italics]

Now, this article was only one of over l00 articles I have posted. But, apparently, this article was so personally threatening to some conservatives that they have blogged and commented and generally been sore losers.

I always find it amusing when people write me nastygrams. What part of licensed psychotherapist do they not understand? I have x-ray vision for pathology, and can diagnose with the best of them.

Of course, I’m not the only one out there who has been on the receiving end of Conservatives Acting Badly. Sarah Palin has been a virtual punching bag from both the angry Left and the snooty Right.

Handling the situation with her usual aplomb, Palin recently called Charles Krauthammer out on his elitism. On Bill O’Reilly’s program, she needled Krauthammer for not thinking she’s “hoity toity” enough for him.

The worst aspect about Family Feud (the Conservative Edition) is that it is such a time waster — and it plays right into the Left’s hands. There’s a reason why progressives degrade and smear conservatives, as well as troll our websites.

Leftists are trying to make conservatives feel agitated, confused and frightened. Some conservatives will make the fatal mistake of taking their agitation out on each other. This is exactly the reaction that the Left is hoping for; it’s all part of the Saul Alinsky playbook.

One of my greatest hopes for 2011 is a united conservative movement, one that discusses differences without demonizing another. If someone writes an article that irks, or if another person doesn’t have an Ivy League diploma, why not respect each other’s basic humanity? Isn’t that what conservatism is all about: fairness and intelligent debate? Not to mention being classy, unlike the mean-spirited progressives in our midst.

Martin Luther King Jr., said it well, that we must stand together as brothers, or we will die together as fools. How true; only a fool would believe that attacking each other will pave the way for more conservative victories in this brand new year.

In Solidarity,

Robin of Berkeley
