Death Summary: Barack Obama, Sr. lost both legs in a car wreck, which also led to him losing his job. He died soon after at the age of 46 in another car crash in Nairobi. Obama Sr. is buried in Alego, at the village of Nyang’oma Kogelo, Siaya District, Kenya. Barack Obama, Sr. was a Kenyan senior government economist, and father of president-elect Barack Obama. He married fellow student Ann Dunham (who was pregnant with his child) in Maui, Hawaii on February 21, 1961. Obama failed to inform his new bride that he was still married at the time of their marriage.

Dunham gave birth to Barack Obama II on August 4, 1961, she left school shortly after to take care of her new baby. After graduating from the University of Hawaii Obama was offered a scholarship to New York University, he declined it, as he preferred Harvard. Dunham filed for divorce in Honolulu in January 1964, Barack Obamar. did not contest. After the divorce, he just saw young Barack once more in 1971.
