Star Parker - Planned Parenthood Targets Black Women

In 1854, Abraham Lincoln confronted America’s first “pro-choice” Senator, Stephen Douglas, in a speech in Peoria, Illinois.

“Choice” then was about slavery, not abortion.

Douglas sponsored the Kansas-Nebraska Act, which addressed the sticky question of how to deal with the legality of slavery in new territories entering the union. The Kansas-Nebraska Act resolved this by “choice.” Residents would vote to decide if slavery would be legal in their territory.

Lincoln challenged Douglas’s “pro-choice” position on slavery. According to Douglas, said Lincoln, “…the principle of the Nebraska Bill was very old; that it originated when God made man and placed good and evil before him, allowing him to choose for himself, being responsible for the choice he should make.”

No, said Lincoln. “God did not place good and evil before man, telling him to make his choice. On the contrary, he did tell him there was one tree, of the fruit of which he should not eat, upon pain of certain death.”

Our constitution, conveyed by the nation’s founders 65 years before Lincoln spoke those words, circumvented the question of slavery, permitting the great paradox of a nation founded on the ideals of freedom, which allowed slavery.

The struggle for racial justice in America – whether fighting slavery, or fighting for civil rights - has always been informed by absolute standards of right and wrong, of good and evil, that transcend even the cleverest human mind. Black history is testimony to where we wind up when those standards get lost.

Yet, once again, those standards have gotten lost. And, once again, black Americans are bearing the brunt of the cost of a nation that has lost its moral rudder. This time as result of wantonly legal and available abortion.

According to the Centers for Disease Control, blacks accounted for 35.4 percent of abortions performed in 2009, despite representing, according to the 2010 census, just 13.6 percent of the US population.

Let’s not be deluded that this is an accident.

Analysis of 2010 census data by an initiative called Protecting Black Life shows that 79 percent of Planned Parenthood abortion clinics are located in walking distance of minority neighborhoods – 62 percent within 2 miles of primarily black neighborhoods and 64 percent of Hispanic/Latino neighborhoods.

Planned Parenthood, the nation’s largest abortion provider, systematically targets minority women for abortion.

Before the Civil War, there were church going Americans who rationalized slavery by believing that blacks were less than human. This view was legally formalized in the US Supreme Court’s infamous Dred Scott decision.

It is not surprising that our first “pro-choice” Senator, Stephen Douglas, supported the Dred Scott decision.

Views echoing Dred Scott help rationalize Planned Parenthood’s targeted destruction of black children in the womb.

In 1957, Mike Wallace interviewed Planned Parenthood founder Margaret Sanger, and asked her if she believed in sin.

Sanger, whose racist and eugenicist views are well documented, replied, “I believe the biggest sin in the world is parents bringing children into the world that have disease from their parents, that have no chance in the world to be a human being practically. Delinquents, prisoners, all sorts of things just marked when they are born.”

It is a sign of these dismally confused times that it was our first black president, Barack Obama, who, last week, became the first sitting American president to address Planned Parenthood.

In his address, the President did not use the word “abortion” once, nor was there a single reference to the current trial and murder charges against Philadelphia abortion Doctor Kermit Gosnell.

You’d think he was addressing Ronald McDonald House, not an organization that provided 333,964 abortions last year, disproportionately on black women.

Black unemployment and poverty rates are almost double the national averages. I suppose Planned Parenthood, with support from our president, and $542 million in taxpayer funds, feels it is doing its part to solve this problem.

Jeannie DeAngelis - America’s Throwaway Children

It is heartbreaking to think about the horror that ensued in that small Connecticut town where 28 innocent people were gunned down, eighteen of whom were the most innocent of innocents – wide-eyed, angelic first graders - and one of whom was the shooter’s own mother.

Babies – little munchkins who came to school to learn to count, read and sit cross-legged on the floor during story hour – these were the victims of a terror too unspeakable to comprehend.

Nonetheless, while America takes in and tries to process the sights, sounds and anguish of a tragedy of this magnitude, it’s hard for those who are committed to the sanctity of life to ignore the hypocrisy currently afoot in the aftermath surrounding the ordeal.

Some may argue that it is highly inappropriate and insensitive, while 20 first-graders are being prepared for burial, to tie human suffering to the topic of abortion. But since liberals “never want to let a serious crisis to go to waste,” why not follow that lead by using this tragedy as a “teachable moment?”

For starters, it’s important to recognize that some do not understand that for most conservatives it’s the babies that drive our politics. A problem arises whenever little ones are hurt and liberals respond by condemning violence against children. Instantly, the prolife community is criticized for recognizing the absurd paradox and pointing out the left’s hypocrisy.

As pint-sized bodies are shuttled away from the Connecticut crime scene, it’s important to remember that our nation legalized the slaughter of innocents more than 40 years ago. Then, recently we put our approbation on continuing the carnage by reelecting the most radical advocate for abortion rights in our nation’s history. Five weeks later, in broad daylight, when slaughter and carnage come out of hiding we wonder why?

The brutality of senseless violence is hard to comprehend, especially when a high-powered rifle mows down precious little ones. But daily, Americans ignore the fact that weaponry like scalpels, saline, and suction exterminate far many more children than those who die in classrooms.

In essence, what happened in Newtown merely pulled back the curtain and revealed the spirit behind the everyday viciousness perpetrated against America’s children. The difference is that normally the bloody massacre is hidden from the public’s eye.

As for those on the left who now weep for the lost, nice try, but not convincing. Prochoice advocates shedding tears for the loss of the pure and the blameless just doesn’t fly. Neither does hearing partial birth abortion backers pontificate about preserving and protecting life. Doing so is comparable to the world’s most famous butcher, Dario Cecchini, lending his face to a PETA ad.

And while no one can, or should, judge the heart of a man, it is also quite perplexing to see infanticide supporter Barack Obama crying over the demise of small children when, if they were 6½ months in utero versus 6½ years old in a classroom, he’d be defending an individual’s right to terminate their lives.

Furthermore, after earning a 100% voting record score from NARAL, it’s also mindboggling at best to hear President Obama utter the following words about a select group of children: “The majority of those who died today were children — beautiful little kids between the ages of 5 and 10 years old. They had their entire lives ahead of them — birthdays, graduations, weddings, kids of their own.”

The only difference between the dead Obama wept for on national television and those that Planned Parenthood deprives daily of “birthdays, graduations, weddings [and] kids of their own” is that the latter are victims of the kind of violence the President approves of.

Nonetheless, in response to the tragedy Obama is now talking about “meaningful action to prevent more tragedies like this, regardless of the politics.” What he’s really talking about is taking “meaningful action” to institute more stringent gun control laws that will restrict law-abiding gun owners

Someone should remind Planned Parenthood’s presidential cheerleader that on the same day children were sprayed with bullets in a Connecticut elementary school, 3,500 innocent babies died at the hands of abortionists – and not one gun was involved in those murders.

Moreover, the words “regardless of politics,” are being used to support the gun control argument. Yet, while claiming to omit politics from the ‘violence against children’ issue, Obama is predictably using politics to retain his prochoice political base by conveniently disregarding the fact that in America every 10 days, 35,000 viable infants are victims of feticide.

As America deals with the horror in Connecticut, it’s clear to some that what happened in Newtown, Connecticut is the heartbreaking symptom of a national disease where to some the life of a child is nothing more than a disposable throwaway.

The sad truth is that the small and defenseless die horrific deaths everyday in America – some huddled under a desk and others under cold florescent lights in an abortion clinic. Either way, the formula is the same: violence and the intent to kill which, regardless of the method, both deliver the same result – dead babies. In a first grade classroom there are 20; in a clinic across town there could be 220.

What’s stunning is that this truth has not deterred the disingenuous from campaigning for the right to kill the unborn on Monday and then publicly quoting Scripture, weeping, and lighting memorial candles for murdered children on Friday.

And so, as usual, liberals try to have it both ways. Yet, for those who recognize hypocrisy it will be painful to watch as a nation in mourning accepts the feigning of grief from those who, under different circumstances, would heartily support killing the children they now weep for.

Jeannie DeAngelis - Barack Obama's Idea of Staying in the Word and Living Like Jesus

Originally posted at American Thinker
Prior to the election in 2008, then-candidate Barack Obama showed up in Rick Warren's Saddleback Church in Lake Forest, California.

It was there that Warren asked Barack Obama what Christianity meant to him and this is how he answered:
"As a starting point, it means I believe in - that Jesus Christ died for my sins, and that I am redeemed through him. That is a source of strength and sustenance on a daily basis. Yes, I know that I don't walk alone. And I know that if I can get myself out of the way, that I can maybe carry out in some small way what he intends. And it means that those sins that I have on a fairly regular basis, hopefully will be washed away.

But what it also means, I think, is a sense of obligation to embrace not just words, but through deeds, the expectations, I think, that God has for us. And that means thinking about the least of these."
Despite his "above my pay grade" answer to Rick Warren's controversial "when does life begin" question, Barack Obama went on to win the election. Over the last four years the President has not let his "sense of obligation" toward Jesus stand in the way of his continued support for abortion on demand as well as all manner of liberal social policy whose precepts are denounced, not extolled, by the God Obama claims to worship.

For instance, with all that "thinking about the least of these" Barack Obama claims he does, he sure hasn't given the helpless and defenseless unborn so much as a second thought. If the President's true goal is to "carry out in some small way what [Jesus] intends" surely he can't believe that it's the Lord's will for His followers to support or promote the destruction of God-ordained human life?

Now it's less than three months until the next election and the President is again publicly espousing a deep commitment to his Christian faith. Barack Obama, together with his opponent Mitt Romney, agreed to a faith-based interview, this time with Washington National Cathedral magazine.

President Obama must think the American people will overlook his request that the Jesuit priests at Georgetown University cover up the IHS monogram before he would speak there, or that he mocked Christians as being people who exhibit "antipathy" toward others while clinging to guns and religion.

Could it be that in Barack's skewed understanding of Christianity, revoking the conscience clause for his Christian brethren who work in the medical field is how he "carries out in some small way" what he perceives to be what God intends?

In the "words and deeds" department, a Christian omitting the phrase "the Creator" when quoting the Declaration of Independence doesn't exactly jibe with Jesus' words: "Whoever acknowledges me before men, I will also acknowledge him before my Father in heaven."

The truth is, the president has not vacillated in the slightest in his support of the anti-biblical policy of government-funded abortion, and recently "evolved" to a place where he now has a favorable opinion of same-sex marriage too.

Nonetheless, in the interview, Obama, who faithfully upholds the premise that women should be in control over life and death, shared that he believes "at the end of the day, God is in control." God is either in control or He isn't - it can't be both ways.

The President also shared that "I have a job to do as president, and that does not involve convincing folks that my faith in Jesus is legitimate and real." When Jesus walked the earth He made it quite clear that there is no need for convincing, because Jesus said, "a tree is known by its own fruit." So if persuasion is necessary maybe it's because the fruit is, shall we say, questionable.

The problem is that in other ways Obama does plenty of "convincing." The President's public profession of faith while approving and promoting blatant rebellion leads the impressionable to falsely believe a Christian is someone who quotes Scripture, supports Planned Parenthood, and officiates over same-sex marriage ceremonies.

And although he ignores his own flesh-and-blood brother George, who lives in a slum in Nairobi, the President expressed that his faith in God is directly tied to his belief in a compassionate role for government, saying, "From slavery to the suffrage movement to civil rights, faith - and the moral obligations that derive from our faith - have always helped us to navigate some of our greatest moral challenges with a recognition that there's something bigger than ourselves: we have obligations that extend beyond our own self-interest."

Does Obama grasp that "extending beyond our own self-interest" doesn't quite fit with the right-to-choose paradigm he so ardently defends and that "extending beyond our own self-interest" probably has more do with helping his impoverished brother George than providing free contraceptives to the likes of Democrat Convention speaker Sandra Fluke?

That aside, in the Washington Cathedral interview the President made what is likely to be the most astounding declaration about his faith thus far when he said, "I do my best to live out my faith, and to stay in the Word, and to make my life look more like His."

On the President's part, spiritual goals are always commendable. Unfortunately, his self-created walk of faith often leads him and those he influences into extremely dark places. Moreover, the President accepts and rejects Scripture according to personal moral preferences. He dissects God's Word and picks and chooses according to which verses he can use and manipulate to uphold reprobate liberal ideology.

This election year, maybe true people of faith should consider that regardless of how he perceives his walk with the Lord, Barack Obama is notorious for rejecting the hard sayings of the One he claims he wants his life to emulate. As for the Scripture he says he's "staying in," according to the "Word made flesh," not accepting that Word in its entirety is synonymous with rejecting the Christ the President claims to follow.

Jeannie DeAngelis - Elizabeth 'Banks' on Barack

Originally posted at Renew America

Actress Elizabeth Banks, star of such memorable flicks as Madonna’s Swept Away, box office blockbuster Sexual Life, and instructional films/comedies such as The 40 Year Old Virgin and Zack and Miri Make a Porno, cares so very “deeply” about Planned Parenthood that she’s stepped forward on behalf of Barack Obama to promote the abortion provider in a new campaign ad.

While Elizabeth Banks’ opinion is inconsequential in terms of the big picture, it’s important to expose the ignorance and farcical rationale displayed by an ever-growing roster of Hollywood shills for Obama. These out-of-touch, overpaid show-business types have made it their business to influence the ill-informed so that Obama can continue inflicting his economic and social reign of terror on the nation.

In the promo Elizabeth shares how, after graduating from college, Planned Parenthood was her sole healthcare provider. And yes, Elizabeth says she got birth control from Planned Parenthood, but only for her “massive migraine headaches” and “heavy flow.”

Banks then says, “Yeah, I’m on record saying I have a heavy flow,” which is where the spot segues into absurdity. Banks then says, “And unfortunately these are the type of things I don’t want to discuss with employers. I don’t want to talk about that with my employer. That’s between me and my doctor and at the time my doctor happened to be at Planned Parenthood.”

Too bad the ad’s not an interview, because it would be interesting to hear Elizabeth explain why she thinks a woman who chooses not to avail herself of Planned Parenthood’s services would have to discuss her menses with her employer.

Nevertheless, an even more striking thing about the ad: Since when did Elizabeth Banks become so reserved about her sexuality? Maybe she doesn’t realize it, but thanks to her appearance in an Obama/Biden 2012 ad, the whole country now knows about her menstrual flow. Moreover, isn’t this the same woman whose career was built on sex scenes, the most famous of which is in The 40 Year Old Virgin, where Banks’ bookstore clerk character “masturbates with a shower nozzle?”

In the Obama/Biden/Planned Parenthood ad, Banks continues by saying that because she doesn’t want to talk to her boss about female-related issues, she’s “really happy” Planned Parenthood exists to “provide essential services all over this country.”

Looking and sounding a bit uncomfortable, Banks then shares statistical information with the audience, claiming that “the services that they provide, ahhhh, what is it, 95% of them don’t involve anything controversial.”

Elizabeth’s Judeo-Christian/Irish Catholic/Protestant/conversion-to-Judaism roots could be the reason the actress chose not to utter the word “abortion,” and instead inserted the word “controversial.”

That 5% figure, although 3% is the number Planned Parenthood uses, has to be wrong, and a little basic math would prove it.

There is no doubt that Planned Parenthood, the largest abortion provider in the country, is synonymous with the procedure. In clinics across America, 3,500 abortions are performed per day, totaling about 1.2 million babies per year. University of Pennsylvania magna cum laude graduate Elizabeth Banks should have done some simple math before saying “ahhhh, what is it 95%” of Planned Parenthood services are not controversial.

Planned Parenthood confesses to approximately 300,000+ abortions per year, give or take a child’s life here and there. In 2010 the organization admitted to dispensing about 1.4 million morning-after pills, which makes it 1.7 million ‘abortion related’ services in 2010. And Planned Parenthood expects America to believe that 1.2 million minus 300,000 means that 900,000 additional abortions are being performed elsewhere in some little corner butcher shop somewhere?

Banks blithely declares: “So for that little 5% that Mitt Romney decides he doesn’t agree with he’s going to take away cancer screening?” Apparently, for Elizabeth Banks “that little 5%,” which amounts to innocent human beings lives’ being destroyed at a so-called ‘healthcare facility,’ is a small price to pay for women to be able to get cancer screenings at Planned Parenthood. Is Ms. Banks suggesting cancer screenings are unavailable anywhere besides Planned Parenthood?

Moreover, shame on Ms. Banks, who has herself admitted to struggling with infertility, for nonchalantly dismissing the lives of innocent children destroyed largely for the sake of convenience.

Referring to Mitt Romney, the actress asks the question: “What is he doing? He’s going to take away people’s access to healthcare close by?” Sure, in the overall scheme of things, proximity does take precedence over the slaughter of 300,000 defenseless babies, which amounts to 19 coliseums each filled with 16,000 spectators being destroyed per year.

In defense of “working class ladies,” many of whom probably have both employer-provided health care and “a heavy flow,” Banks then points out that “We’re talking about working class ladies who need health care,” and “that’s Planned Parenthood and I don’t know how a lot of communities can get by without them.”

Come on Elizabeth, even the most ardent Planned Parenthood advocate knows that healthcare is not the first thing that comes to mind when the name Planned Parenthood is mentioned. As for the communities that can’t get by without a clinic on the corner, the late eugenicist Margaret Sanger would likely concur that this is especially true for lower income neighborhoods, where Planned Parenthood clinics are located to assist minority women in relieving themselves and society of the burden of unwanted children.

According to Ms. Banks, the reason President Obama – a man who has destroyed the economy, trampled our Constitution, and continues to infringe on the rights of American taxpayers opposed to abortion – deserves to stay in office is because he “has not compromised” on the rights of women who’d rather abort their children and avoid discussing their “heavy flow” with an employer.

Jeannie DeAngelis - The Liberal ‘Right’ to Violence

Originally posted at American Thinker Blog
Sports teams with Indian names, candy, the First and Second Amendment, and skull-smashing football are some of the things that offend and/or concern the left. Therefore, interdiction has become a favorite liberal pastime. So far lefties have successfully curtailed or outlawed: large sugary sodas, Caucasians uttering the “N” word, the word “terrorist,” Muslim slurs of any kind, Christian prayer, Christmas carols and Nativity scenes, and smoking in public settings.

To convince those who would normally oppose relinquishing another constitutional freedom, ‘ban-happy‘ liberals use scare tactics to persuade the resistant to submit to their edicts. Yet, with death and disease as the criteria, somehow the bloodshed that defines abortion has remained exempt from the hot lights of liberal scrutiny.

Democrats denounce gun violence while federally funding a genocidal industry responsible for the deaths of more women and unborn children since 1973 than Rwanda, Pol Pot, Nazi Germany, Stalin, Tojo, the Armenian slaughter in Turkey, and Leopold II of Belgium – combined. At any stage and for any reason, Barack Obama, the most radically pro-choice president to ever quote Scripture and his merry band of pro-death supporters will rise to the occasion and defend abortion on demand.

Rest assured the do-gooders on the left would have no problem doing battle on behalf of abortion while gleefully confiscating all guns, junking SUVs, and smacking a Big Gulp right out of the hands of a corpulent soda drinker.

Supposedly, to save lives, liberals are now using the massacre in Aurora, Colorado to call for more stringent firearm restrictions. Salivating in anticipation of exploiting a crisis to further control the sale and ownership of guns, President Obama flew to Aurora to comfort the victims’ families and injured survivors.

As Obama publicly lamented the 12 untimely deaths at the hands of a gun-wielding madman, 1,005 miles away on S. Michigan Avenue in Chicago a young black woman named Tonya Reaves exercised her reproductive rights by subjecting herself and her unborn child to a scalpel and suction-wielding clinician who vacuumed the child from her womb and scraped any remaining fetal tissue from the walls of her uterus.

The second trimester abortion was incomplete and during the procedure the abortionist perforated Tonya’s uterus. After Planned Parenthood waited 5 hours to get her the care she needed, Reaves hemorrhaged to death in a local hospital. Planned Parenthood, the premier provider of women’s health care services, called the young woman’s death an “accident.”

Four days after Tonya’s death while campaigning in Portland, just as he acknowledged the dead in Colorado, Ban-Happy Barack also paid homage to Tonya Reaves’ death when he said, ”Mr. Romney wants to get rid of funding for Planned Parenthood. I think that’s a bad idea. I’ve got two daughters. I want them to control their own health carechoices.”

While Democrat enablers malign gun ownership, babies and their mothers perish at the hands of those who view death as business and life a throwaway commodity. Outside the clinic’s death chambers, where more blood is spilled than any gun-related massacre in history, Planned Parenthood markets itself primarily as a mammography and women’s health screening center.

But the truth is, if the world could see behind the sunny smiles, pink balloons and fun “games and quizzes,” the brutality against humanity that defines Planned Parenthood makes the innocent blood spilled in Aurora pale in comparison, and Christensen Farms, Wal-Mart’s pork supplier, look like a day at the beach.

Moreover, despite the kitschy public service announcements and a cool “Safe is Sexy T-shirt design” contest, 24 -year-old Tonya Reaves and her never-to-be-born child found out the hard way that Planned Parenthood is neither safe nor sexy.

After Reaves’ death went public, Carole Brite of Planned Parenthood of Illinois attempted to do damage control by issuing a statement: “We were shocked and saddened upon learning of a tragic development at a nearby hospital. Our hearts go out to the loved ones of this patient.”

Ms. Not-So-Brite maintained the party line, saying, “While legal abortion services in the United States have a very high safety record, tragedy such as this is devastating to loved ones and we offer our deepest sympathies. Planned Parenthood of Illinois cares deeply about the health and safety of each and every patient.”

If a “high safety record” is the standard for not banning the brutality of abortion, how can you ban guns for one tragic incident in a highly safe environment like a movie theatre?

Moreover, if Planned Parenthood really “cares that deeply about the health and safety of each and every patient,” why do they stock up on all those fetus-sized biohazard bags, and in Tonya Reaves’ case, the occasional full-sized body bag?

Forging ahead for women’s health and in anticipation of the 2012 election, Planned Parenthood launched a Barack Obama-friendly “gutting women’s health and rights” political action website called www.womenarewatching.org. The “Women are Watching” slogan warns that “Politicians need to know we will hold them accountable on women’s health issues.”

Planned Parenthood enthusiast and “Women are Watching” video star Representative Gwen Moore (D-WI) contends that “Planned Parenthood is healthy for women, is healthy for children, and is healthy for our society.”

Contrary to Gwen Moore’s argument, Tonya Reaves found out that Planned Parenthood is not healthy for women, children, or society and poses a threat more dire than a sole madman going berserk in a movie theater with a semi-automatic rifle. Yet, despite the peril it poses, Planned Parenthood remains blameless in the eyes of the patron saint of abortion, Barack Obama, who favors bloodshed in the name of the right to choose in one venue while trying to deny the right to bear arms in another.
