Piers Morgan Makes It Happen

Piers Morgan infamous host of CNN's Piers Morgan Tonight is afflicted with the same self induced mind-control that most if not all Liberals suffer from - if Reality does not match their Liberal feelings then they create an alternate reality that does match their feelings.

Piers Morgan was so dissatisfied with the War in Iraq in 2004 while he was Editor of the UK Newspaper The Daily Mirror, that he published doctored and/or fake pictures of British troops torturing an Iraqi detainee.

In one picture a soldier is seen urinating on a hooded man while in another the hooded man is being hit with a rifle in the groin. The Queen's Lancashire Regiment (QLR) said the Mirror had endangered British troops by running the pictures. The regiment's Brigadier Geoff Sheldon said the vehicle featured in the photographs had been located in a Territorial Army base in Lancashire and had never been in Iraq. He said the QLR's reputation had been damaged by the Mirror and asked the newspaper to apologise because the evidence they were staged was "overwhelming".

"Piers Morgan was sacked as the editor of the Daily Mirror last night as the newspaper's board made an unreserved apology for publishing fake pictures of British troops torturing Iraqi prisoners. Morgan's departure came only hours after a devastating rebuttal of his defence of the pictures by Brig Geoff Sheldon, colonel of the Queen's Lancashire Regiment, whose soldiers were accused of torture and abuse in the Mirror under the headline "Vile".

For most of yesterday Morgan was his customary bullish self, "laughing and joking" with colleagues as they prepared the paper.

He told a television interviewer yesterday morning: "All I want to say is we published the truth." But the end of his eight-year editorship came suddenly. At 6.30pm he was called to the executive floor to be told by Sly Bailey, the chief executive, that the board had "lost confidence in him". Morgan, who had made it clear that he would not resign, was not given the option of apologising and keeping his job. According to staff, he was not allowed to bid farewell to his newsroom before being ushered out of the building by security staff. His personal assistant was said to be in tears.

Morgan's jacket was still on the chair where he had been sitting before being summoned by Miss Bailey.

Kevin McCullough - What the Meaning of 'Infringe' Is

And now boys and girls, it's time for "Fun with Words!" Today's featured contestants are Vice President Joe Biden and a man whose television ratings are so bad it's a wonder he still has a job, Piers Morgan.

Perhaps it’s because he was disgraced in scandal--in his beloved England--getting caught publishing fake photographs of British troops committing fake atrocities in Iraq. But whatever reason, American television viewers consistently overlook him when choosing prime time viewing.

Vice President Biden used a lot of interesting expressions this past week. He kept reiterating that the President, for example, will utilize the executive order (a noun: rule or order issued by the president to an executive branch of the government and having the force of law) on the issue of either limiting the ownership of, or the confiscation of, guns owned by law-abiding citizens.

Simultaneously Piers Morgan was eschewing the controversial internet talk show host Alex Jones one night, justifying the execution and shooting of Jones the following, and then got "pwned," diced, char-grilled, and feasted upon by best-selling author Ben Shapiro one night later.

Throughout both Biden's odd media appearances and Morgan's inept ratings stunts both men repeatedly expressed their respect for the Constitution's Second Amendment. It is an amendment that defines rights given to us by the divine, and enumerated and recognized by our basis of law.

I've had it up to my eyeballs with what the political and theological left continue to call, "respect for the Second Amendment."

I think most of America has as well.

Personally, I couldn't care less if you respect ("a noun: proper acceptance or courtesy; acknowledgment.") it or not.

The Constitution of the United States declares you may not infringe upon it.

Beyond that, the Supreme Court has ruled numerous times--most recently in 2008 and 2010--that infringe means what we think it means. (A verb: acting so as to limit or undermine something; encroach on.)

The problem for the left is known as cognitive dissonance. ("a noun: psychological conflict resulting from simultaneously held incongruous beliefs and attitudes. Often occurring when beliefs or assumptions are contradicted by new information.")

Because Joe Biden and Piers Morgan believe that the world sees things the way they do, it is almost impossible for them to handle honest to goodness fact, truth, and demonstration of ideas that would solve the actual issue we face in school shootings. This is very much the case for those ideas that run contrary to theirs.

Yet Shapiro was right, Morgan, Biden and others exploit the deaths of the children of Sandy Hook, to solve a problem that does not need to exist. And it wouldn't--if only there were more guns in the hands of We The People.

In both Newtown, Connecticut and the Portland, Oregon shootings, the character deficient individuals who were killing innocent people, immediately ceased shooting others and shot themselves, the moment (not a second before), that they realized a gun was aimed at them.

In the Newtown case the shooter had already jumped through the hoops of the gun control legislation on the books. He had been denied the opportunity to buy a gun based on his desire not to have a background check run. Additionally, the Newtown school's gun-free security system made it harder for him to get into the building--trying separate locked doors--and finally blasted his way in when he had grown frustrated enough.

But imagine if an armed security officer, policeman, or school personnel had been waiting on the other side. 20 children would be alive today that are not with us.

I find it excessively odd that the solutions of Biden and Morgan appear to only attack, address the behavior of, and seek to limit the actions of law-abiding people. As if after passing more than twenty thousand federal, state, and local gun laws, this nation still believes that legislation will prevent criminal, heinous acts from happening.

In reality the only thing that will prevent heinous acts, is fear by the people who would be prone to carry them out. We call it an incentive towards good behavior, and it is not rocket science. Why do conceal carry states have such precipitous drop in violent crime--the immediate year following such deregulation.

And Misters Biden and Morgan, why did the three worst shootings of last year occur in Oregon, Colorado, and Connecticut which already have restrictive gun laws. Why not in Texas?

I also find it odd that while President Obama signed legislation this week that insured himself armed guards as lifelong protection at the expense of the taxpayer, that he also voted in 2004 against allowing people simple handguns to protect their home, and in 1996 answered a survey where he indicated in his own handwriting that he was in favor of a ban on the manufacture, sale, and distribution of handguns of any sort.

So while arming himself, President Obama has literally worked to disarm everyday Americans--his boss.

Whatever executive action (used by Joe Biden this week: a noun: used by the Central Intelligence Agency starting in the early 1950s to refer to their assassination operation) the administration decides to take, they had best be prepared for the fallout. For the controversial Internet personality Alex Jones said on CNN that there would be a second American revolution. The best-selling author Ben Shapiro said, Americans have a right to be armed against "the tyranny" (a noun: oppressive power exerted by government) of a government that overreaches. The two men who couldn't be more different from one another both speaking what the majority of Americans already know.

That we will not allow any power, foreign or domestic to infringe upon our right to keep and bear arms.

Michael Brown - Piers Morgan Wants to Amend Moses

Fresh off his attack on America’s gun control laws, Piers Morgan set his sights on another set of laws that trouble him, the laws of Moses and the Bible. But before he called for an amendment to the Bible to recognize “gay rights,” Morgan actually asked his guest, Pastor Rick Warren, a very fair question, and Warren stumbled in his answer.

Of course, Morgan’s timing could not have been worse. After all, this was a Christmas Eve interview with a Christian leader, and Morgan is not exactly riding a wave of popularity. And to compare the Bible to the Constitution shows a real lack of understanding, let alone sensitivity. (According to Morgan, “Both the Bible and the Constitution were well intentioned but they are basically, inherently flawed.”)

Even those who do not believe the Bible to be God’s Word generally have the prudence not to call for an amendment to the Scriptures. The idea is patently absurd. (To quote Morgan again, “My point to you about gay rights, for example, it’s time for an amendment to the Bible.”)

Who will be responsible for making the amendments? Shall we amend the Bible on an annual basis? Shall we do it by regional vote? By age? By gender? Perhaps we can each amend the Bible as we please, whenever we like? (Come to think of it, in practical terms, that’s what a lot of people do on a daily basis!)

Morgan actually called for a “new Bible,” thereby making a mockery of his very position. (Note to Piers Morgan: If “the Bible” is merely a book containing the latest human opinion, it is not “the Bible.” This would be like calling for the manufacture of a “new car,” only to produce a horse.)

But putting this drivel aside, Morgan’s first question to Warren was actually valid. And while Warren, to his credit, unashamedly spoke of his faith in the Bible as God’s Word, noting that what “is flawed is human opinion” – not the Bible – “because [human opinion] constantly changes,” he failed to respond properly to Morgan’s question. This set up Morgan to make his ridiculous call for an amendment to the Bible. (To Morgan’s credit, at least he recognized that the Bible does prohibit homosexual practice, in contrast with the editors of the new Queen James Bible, who simply rewrote the troubling passages.)

To buttress his argument that the Bible was inherently flawed and in need of updating, Morgan cited the law of Moses that adulterers should be stoned to death. This dialog then ensued:

WARREN: That’s . . . a civil law for the nation of Israel.

MORGAN: But it’s still an element of the Bible that is flawed.

WARREN: Well, evidently, for that generation, that’s their – that’s their commandment.

MORGAN: Exactly my point. . . .

WARREN: But it’s not one of the moral laws.

MORGAN: No, but it’s still in the Bible, and it’s flawed.

This is where Warren’s response fell short.

First, the law against adultery was a moral law, not a civil law. The specific penalty for adultery, namely, stoning, was part of Israel’s civil law, but even at that, Torah law does not distinguish between moral law and civil law.

It would have been better to say, “We both agree that adultery is still wrong; it’s just the penalty for adultery that has changed. It’s the same with homosexual practice.”

Second, Warren offered a weak defense for the validity of this law, saying, “evidently, for that generation, that’s their – that’s their commandment.”

Actually, it would have been better to say that Israel was a theocracy, and as a nation, the people of Israel heard God speak his laws from Mount Sinai. America is not a theocracy and we are not trying to make America into a theocracy. Also, in the ancient Near East, the laws of Moses were actually more compassionate in many ways than the laws of the surrounding nations. But either way, laws like these were common at that time.

More importantly, Jesus, in the New Testament – which is part of the Bible! – spoke against the stoning of an adulteress, without downplaying the sin of adultery. So, Warren could have simply said, “We don’t need to amend the Bible. The Bible already dealt with the very question you raise.”

Of course, if Warren had the time, he could have asked Morgan what right our contemporary Western culture has to throw stones at ancient Israelite morality (no pun intended). For every person stoned to death in ancient Israel for sexual sins, countless thousands of people in Europe and America suffer and even die because of sexually transmitted diseases. I wonder how a line like that would have gone over on the show?

Ironically, after Rick Warren commended Piers Morgan for bringing up these issues, calling for more civil discussion, Moran agreed, saying, “The debate should always be respectful. It's the moment -- it applies to politics, too. . . . The moment it becomes disrespectful and discourteous and then rude and then poisonous, you never achieve anything.”

Perhaps Morgan forgot this principle when he vilified gun lobbyist Larry Pratt as an “incredibly stupid person”? But I digress. Calling for an amendment to the Bible is more than enough for now, and I have no desire to compare today’s gun laws with the Law of Moses.
