Unemployment - Barack Obama Legacy

UPDATE: July 8, 2011 rise to 9.2% - White House spokesman states that Unemployment rates will NOT effect 2012 election.
UPDATE: August 2011 Economy added no jobs for the first time since February, 1945.


Democrats took Control of the House of Representatives 233 to 202.
Democrats took Control of United States Senate 51 to 49.




January 2009.
Democrat Candidate Barack Obama became 44th President of the United States.
Democrats took Control of the House of Representatives 257 to 178.
Democrats took Control of United States Senate 57 to 41 (2 Independents voted with Democrats).

February 2009 the 'Stimulus Bill was passed giving Barack Obama and the Democrat Controlled Congress the largest amount of money to 'Create Jobs' in the History of Mankind.


According to the U.S. Department of Labor's Bureau of Labor Statistics, there are more than 28 million people currently unemployed -- that's including those involuntarily working part-time and those who want a job, but have given up on trying to find one. In the face of the worst economic upheaval since the Great Depression, millions of Americans are hurting.

The State that has lost the most Jobs since Barack Obama was supposed to start creating Jobs with the 'Obama Stimulus' money is California -537,600 jobs.

Where were the most Jobs created? Washington DC +22,400.

47 out of 50 states lost jobs between February 2009 (when the law was signed) and November 2010 (the most recent data).

The U.S. unemployment rate remained at or above 9.5% for 16 consecutive months - the longest period since the Great Depression.
