In my many years of serving on faculty hiring committees, I have often heard the statement “minorities and women are encouraged to apply.” It usually follows in close proximity to the statement “our institution does not discriminate on the basis of race.” The two statements cannot be reconciled by logic. But, then again, logic is considered a form of white oppression at the postmodern university.
Nor can those hiring statements be validated empirically. Not all minorities are encouraged specifically to apply at my university. Orthodox Jews are not encouraged. White Mormons are not encouraged. And neither are white Hispanics. The fact that “minorities” really means “black” renders the second statement even less credible than the first. We really discriminate when we take affirmative action against discrimination. I hope someday we take affirmative action against illogic.
This practice of establishing certain preferred minorities has been going on for a long time. But, I did not fully understand it until I was asked the following question about the Zimmerman/Martin controversy: “Dr. Adams” asked a former student, “what exactly is a white Hispanic?” Without pausing, I responded “It is a pathetic attempt to say that blacks are the only legitimate minority in America.” Sometimes our most honest responses are given reflexively. And they spur our own thinking, not just that of others.
Make no mistake about it: At issue in George Zimmerman's case is not whether he had a right to shoot Trayvon Martin. It is the future of how race will be viewed in America. That is why Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton are clinging on to the Martin controversy.
In their struggle to maintain their racial minority status, race hustlers like Jackson and Sharpton regularly invoke the one-drop rule. The one-drop rule states that anyone who has even a drop of black blood is considered black. The rule was once used by white racists in the South. They thought that anyone who had a drop of black blood was contaminated, so to speak. Just a drop of black blood made them both intellectually and morally inferior.
But, now race hustlers are using the one drop rule to advance their own political agenda. Given that half of black pregnancies end in abortion, Jesse Jackson and his ilk must have some means of keeping their numbers and corresponding political influence from dwindling.
Of course, the one-drop rule operates differently with respect to Hispanics. Black civil rights leaders now want to say that having a single drop of white blood means you are white, not Hispanic. The reason for that is obvious: open-border immigration has made Hispanics the largest minority in America – numerically, if not politically, speaking.
It is also worth noting that these Hispanic immigrants are often Roman Catholic. That means they are less likely to abort their children than someone who practices black liberation theology. It helps explain why Hispanics are now 15% of the United States population while blacks constitute only 12%.
The gradual displacement of blacks as America’s preferred minority is producing a powder keg of racial tension in Florida and elsewhere. So much so that even the normally wise Bill Cosby can’t quite come to terms with it. Cosby wants to think this is all about guns but it isn’t. It’s about race, Bill. And the wave of inter-racial violence in the wake of the Zimmerman release should have tipped you off.
Things are going to get worse before they get better. Mitt Romney is going to choose Senator Rubio as his running mate. He is going to run on a pro-life and pro-gun platform, regardless of his true beliefs, which are virtually indiscernible. And Hispanics will support Romney/Rubio in record numbers.
Eventually, blacks will figure out that the real threat to young men like Trayvon Martin is was not a white Hispanic named George Zimmerman. It was a white supremacist named Margaret Sanger.

Doug Giles - Blacks Can Murder Whites, and It Won’t Make National News
Yep. Tyrone Woodfork, a black male who -- much like Trayvon Martin -- looks like Obama’s son, allegedly killed Nancy Strait and broke her husband Bob’s jaw, several ribs and shot him in the face with a BB gun last month in Tulsa. 20-year-old Tyrone also raped the nearly blind 97-pound Mrs. Strait, a great-great-grandmother, before he murdered her.
Did the above monstrous crime make the national news? Are you kidding me? Why, hell no. Of course not, silly!
Why wasn’t it fit for primetime, you ask? Well, it starred the wrong races in the wrong roles, and it thus did not fit into the fairytale the Left’s trying to foist on us goobers of Obamaland.
For those of you who have not heard diddly squat about a black twentysomething’s senseless, atrocious burglary, rape, battery and murder of an elderly white couple, here are the details regarding the couple, the crime and the culprit(s):
-Bob and Nancy Strait, the victims, grew up in rural Oklahoma during the Great Depression.I wonder if President Obama is going to lecture the nation on this despicable act and tell us something similar to what he said regarding Trayvon’s shooting, namely:
-Bob and Nancy met on a blind date in 1946 and married a month later. They had 6 kids, 18 grandkids and about 50 great- and great-great grandchildren.
-The Straits just celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary.
-Bob served in the 101st Airborne Division in WWII.
-Bob loved woodworking, and Nancy loved quilting.
-The couple used to sit on their porch and play the guitar and sing together during the warm summer evenings.
-On either Tuesday evening (3/13) or Wednesday morning (3/14) Tyrone invaded their home and stole $200 in cash as well as the Strait’s TV and Dodge Neon after raping Mrs. Strait and severely beating Mr. Strait.
- As noted, Nancy died from her injuries. Bob is in serious condition and is being treated at a nearby hospital.
-Mrs. Strait’s funeral was on Friday, March 23, 2012.
-The family has set up a fund—The Nancy Strait and Bob Strait Support Trust—to help pay for Nancy’s funeral service and Bob’s medical care.
-The Tulsa cops are looking for five more murderous morons suspected in this sick and twisted tale.
“It is absolutely imperative that we investigate every aspect of this and that everybody pulls together—federal, state and local—to figure out exactly how this tragedy happened. I think all of us have to do some soul searching to ask ourselves how does something like this happen? And that means that we examine the laws, the context for what happened, as well as the specifics of the incident.”
Will Spike Lee and the New Black Panther Party tweet Tyrone’s address and put out a bounty on the remaining pieces of crap who have yet to be arrested for killing Nancy and brutally beating Bob? Spike and his ilk are all about “justice,” correct? Or is it more about “just us”?

Doug Giles - Spike Lee's Vigilante Trayvon Tweet
As some of you know (those who watch Fox News) it turns out that Spike got the wrong address and the wrong Zimmerman and caused an elderly Florida couple’s life to be turned into a living hell.
Lee, after finding out the couple lawyered up, apologized to the family. How sweet and convenient of Spike. Someone should interview the couple and find out what kind of crap they had to endure because of Spike’s tweet.
Before I continue to touch on how Lee seriously mucked up an innocent couple’s life with his stupid stunt and how I believe that sweet, old couple should sue him for the bollocks he put them through, let’s play a quick game of “What If,” shall we?
What if Spike got the right Zimmerman and
his cabal charged in and beat and/or killed a man who had yet to be given due process under the law? Hmmm? Question: Would Lee be legally liable if one of his vigilantes said they got their 411 and motivation for mayhem from his tweet?From watching cop shows on television—and with a little help from my Facebook friends—would Lee’s tweet be considered:
Being an accessory to a crimeSmells like all of the above to me. But what do I know? I’m just a goofy gringo. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I don’t think Spike’s speech is protected under the First Amendment if his tweet was meant to incite violence.
Reckless and malicious endangerment
Incitement to criminal mischief
Conspiracy to commit bodily injury and/or murder
Interfering with a police investigation
All of the above
I know that if a Caucasian man named Whitey Whitebread put out a fatwa like Lee did that Whitey would be charged with a hate crime, making terrorist threats, inciting mob violence, endangering the well-being of an innocent person and cyberbullying. Isn’t Hollywood coming out with a movie about bullying? Maybe they should show how they’re truly against it by boycotting Spike ‘til Jesus returns.
Now, before I plow ahead in condemning Lee’s tweet, let me go on record as stating that if it is proven in a court of law that Zimmerman did indeed pursue and kill Trayvon Martin for no other reason than Trayvon was a black kid wearing a hoodie and going through a gated community then George deserves the death penalty, his name needs to live on in infamy, and I want to be in the room when he is administered a lethal injection.
But back to Lee and his ill-fated tweet.
Aside from the above hypothetical situation, I’m a thinkin’ what Spike did to this elderly couple constitutes a need for some form of sanctions; there should be criminal charges levied against him, and the McClains should sue him for a cool million for the mayhem he caused them. Twitter should then yank his account because he transgressed their code of conduct.
The thing that I find most interesting is the moral blindness Spike sports. Isn’t what Lee loosed vigilantism in its purest sense? Isn’t Lee’s tweet akin to what he and his ilk are accusing Zimmerman of? Oh, the irony.
We’re going to have to wait and find out whether or not what Zimmerman did was, as Spike and others believe, vigilantism and a racist’s lethal rush to judgment. However, we don’t have to wait to determine the motivation and criminality of Spike Lee’s tweet. I guarantee if the roles were reversed and Whitey Whitebread had done what Lee did this past week he’d be in jail, there’d be a civil suit against him, and we wouldn’t see him on Twitter tweeting any longer.

Kevin McCullough - Trayvon Martin Was Not Shot Because He Was Black (1)
The investigative process is still underway in the shooting death of Trayvon Martin. (3) Sanford police, county sheriffs, state and federal law enforcement are all compiling evidence of what happened the night that Trayvon Martin was shot to death. (4)
As your humble correspondent was returning to New York through Atlanta on Friday of this week, I did what I am often wont to do. I stopped for a bacon & jalapeno cheesesteak grilled sub sandwich at Charley's -- a popular Atlanta favorite. Over my left shoulder was the airport feed from CNN, and as the six or seven ladies operated the grill, called out the numbers, and delivered the delicacies, none of them could take their eyes off of the television feed.
At a particular point in the news feed CNN replayed a portion of the response of Robert Zimmerman Jr.'s appearance on Piers Morgan from Thursday evening. When Zimmerman Jr. made the claim that medical records will prove his brother's claims that he -- George Zimmerman, the shooter of Trayvon Martin -- had a scuffed back side of his head and a broken nose incurred from the scuffle preceding the shooting of Trayvon, the seven ladies behind the counter openly mocked, ridiculed, and heaped scorn at the television set. They muttered racial epithets under their breath.
They also spoke quietly, but loud enough for me to hear -- as a customer -- certain feelings about white people in general. (5)
In ways I have not seen in my forty-one years on this earth, this case -- or as it should be properly put -- the out-of-context reaction to this case has been perhaps the single most racially divisive event of my lifetime. (6) More than the O.J. Simpson verdict, more than the Rodney King case, more than any other incident I can call to memory -- the drummed-up reaction -- as was on display by the sandwich ladies -- made multiple customers in the Atlanta airport's Charley's cafe (in the B terminal) physically uneasy. (6)
The larger question for me this week is not so much the question of "why," because I can easily see how reinforcing racial divides helps a political party, a sitting president, people who peddle hate -- not very cleverly trying to disguise it as civil rights leadership, and even actors such as Sinbad and Spike Lee. No, the "why" of this matter seems easy to me. The larger question to me is, "how?"
Were I to query the ladies behind that counter, I am reasonably sure, based on answers they gave to questions that were not asked, that they genuinely felt that George Zimmerman was a white man who had targeted a black youth, conducted an act of violence on him because of his race, and was now being broadly protected by a system of whites.
But none of that happens to be true. (7)
George Zimmerman has nearly the same amount of Caucasian blood in him as President Obama does. (8) This alone -- in the President's case -- is an argument against his "whiteness," yet in the majority of early reports (and now, to those who talk behind sandwich counters) the truth doesn't matter.(9)
Zimmerman also has no history of racial animus towards black people. (10) One of his longtime friends, a former anchor for CNN -- who happens to be African American -- has been confirming this across as many media outlets as is possible. (11) Zimmerman and his wife -- it is now being discovered -- have been tutoring and mentoring at-risk African American youths for years, building into the lives of these at-risk children virtues and principals to live by.(12)
Zimmerman didn't target Martin because of race. (13) As a community watch volunteer, and as a licensed concealed-carry gun owner, Zimmerman had been concerned for some time about the amount of violent crime, break-ins, burglaries, and other felonies committed in his community. (14) In recent months, skinny tall guys in hoodies had been terrorizing the homeowners in the area. (15) Since the hoodie was pulled over his head, Zimmerman had no reasonable way to target merely an African American youth, but he did see a skinny tall kid -- that he did not recognize -- and felt if he saw something, he should say something.
According to 911 dispatch, Zimmerman was told that he did not need to follow Martin any further than he had. (Not, as some have reported, that he was actually instructed not to follow.) (16) According to Zimmerman, the police report, and as many as six witnesses: Zimmerman -- after getting off the phone -- retreated from his shadowing of Martin and returned to his SUV. (17) It is unclear as to why, but it is confirmed by multiple people who observed that Martin then turned and stalked Zimmerman. (18) Just when Zimmerman had gotten back to his vehicle, it is reported by witnesses that Martin violently assaulted Zimmerman. (19) And according to Robert Zimmerman, appearing on CNN on Thursday evening, Martin attempted to pull Zimmerman's gun. (20) Quickly the tussle turned serious. Both men in a fight for control of the firearm, one of them was shot seconds later.
The police -- once on the scene -- asked neighbors what they had seen and heard. (21) As many as six witnesses confirmed portions of Zimmerman's overall account. (22) Even so, Zimmerman was handcuffed, given medical treatment to clean up his wounds, taken to the police station, questioned, and released because his account was -- according to those who did the early investigating -- consistent with the evidence. (23)
Now a grand jury is looking into the matter, four different governmental levels of our nation's law enforcement are looking into it. (24) Police reports are being leaked to the press, and when every final bit of CSI material is catalogued a report will be made.
Robert Zimmerman wished to communicate to the Martin family the grief and sorrow that they feel for them. (25)
There are no such wishes being communicated to the rest of America for the damage that continues to be done in the violence that is the refusal to admit truth. (26) Those who do so would rather manipulate media and manufacture outrage all for political opportunity, vain publicity, or financial gain. (27)
Trayvon was not shot because he was black, and not one shred of actual evidence gathered thus far changes that fact. (28)

There was a time when liberals fancied themselves the keepers of civility. Who can forget when, after the Gabrielle Giffords tragedy, the President spoke at a memorial in Tucson where he exhorted the nation to more courteous conversation by insinuating that right-wing hate speech had fueled the brutal attack on the Arizona congresswoman?
After the shooting, in one of his typical
lectures to America, Barack “Together we Thrive” Obama maintained that “at a time when our discourse has become so sharply polarized - at a time when we are far too eager to lay the blame for all that ails the world at the feet of those who think differently than we do - it's important for us to pause for a moment and make sure that we are talking with each other in a way that heals, not a way that wounds.”
More recently, after the controversial shooting death of black Florida teen Trayvon Martin one can’t help but wonder if Barack Obama truly meant those words.
Based on his reaction to the racially-tinged incident in Sanford, Florida, it seems the President’s exhortation applies exclusively to political adversaries, because lately we’ve come to find out that if dissension should crop up anywhere besides Arizona, ‘pausing for a moment’ is apparently not something Barack Obama advocates.
The truth is, when comparing the hoodie-wearing, congressmen bounty-placing New Black Panthers, terror-tweeting Hollywood directors, and a President who has lots to say about conservatives’ conduct but remains mum when out-of-control liberals behave badly, indignant hypocrites on the left have succeeded in making Rush Limbaugh’s recent improper innuendos seem relatively benign.
After the shooting in Tucson that killed six people and injured 12, the President implored a stunned nation to embrace civility, saying, “For the truth is that none of us can know exactly what triggered this vicious attack. None of us can know with any certainty what might have stopped those shots from being fired, or what thoughts lurked in the inner recesses of a violent man's mind.”
Yet, after uttering such cogent words, Obama has chosen to remain relatively silent as George Zimmerman, the man who claims that he shot a black teen in self-defense, is pursued by an outraged lynch mob chanting “No justice, no peace.”
Even more disturbing is the fact that those shunning the assistance of law enforcement are some of Obama’s closest friends. The group attempting to avenge a death deemed by some to be the result of racial profiling that turned into a cold-blooded execution includes the New Black Panthers, Democrat ultra-liberals like Maxine Waters (D-CA) and Al Sharpton, and Hollywood progressives like Roseanne Barr.
Famous African-American “40 Acres and a Mule Filmworks” director Spike Lee even chose not to “do the right thing.” Jumping into the fray and hoping to direct an angry mob to George Zimmerman’s doorstep to accomplish God knows what, Lee tweeted out a home address he thought belonged to the perpetrator. Spike might as well have strung a noose on a tree outside the man’s house.
The house number Lee tweeted was incorrect, but his communiqué resulted in Elaine and David McClain being driven from their home fearing for their lives. Spike Lee, a $1.6 million fundraiser for Obama’s bid for reelection, finally apologized and reached a financial settlement with the elderly couple. But thus far, the Tucson Healer has yet to utter one word about the shameful incident.
After mentally disturbed Jared Lee Loughner shot Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords in the head, Barack Obama made a concerted effort to temper the violence by promising justice, and did so while encouraging everyone to exercise measured restraint. Now, in response to Trayvon’s death, a posse with the Twitter handle @Kill Zimmerman is advertising that, without an investigation or trial, an American citizen should “be shot dead in the street the same way Trayvon was.”
Yet, the President who once challenged the nation with the words “We should be willing to challenge old assumptions in order to lessen the prospects of violence in the future” has been eerily silent about the growing unrest surrounding the teen’s shooting. Obama has spoken once, only to mention that if he had a son, he’d look like Trayvon.
Whatever happened to President Obama advising Americans to use a violent situation such as this “to expand our moral imaginations, to listen to each other more carefully, to sharpen our instincts for empathy, and to remind ourselves of all the ways our hopes and dreams are bound together?”
If we were listening to each other, exercising empathy and reminding ourselves we are bound together, then Attorney General Eric Holder and his Justice Department would have reacted appropriately to the New Black Panthers trying to take the law into their own hands by placing a bounty on a Zimmerman’s head and circulating “Wanted Dead or Alive” posters.
Moreover, why is President Obama, who in Tucson warned that we should never use “tragedy as one more occasion to turn on one another,” stoking aggression by purposely ignoring the growing animosity toward a man who is supposed to be “innocent until proven guilty?”
At the Tucson Memorial, Barack Obama quoted Scripture and discouraged the nation from “pointing fingers and assigning blame.” Now, with an election just months away, the Keeper of Civility, desperate to renew his base, has found a racial issue to exploit and has aligned his 2012 reelection campaign with a hooded uniform that symbolizes a slain teen whose culpability in his own death has yet to be determined.
And so, not only has the President proven that his recent righteous indignation toward so-called right-wing “hate speech” is a reaction directed exclusively toward political foes, and while contributing to growing tension in a nation he’s supposed to be leading, Obama has once again managed to expose his own duplicity.
The Trayvon Martin-George Zimmerman case has left a young man dead, an accused shooter hiding from an angry mob of bloodthirsty vigilantes, and has caused the nation to be sharply divided again by racial tension. But above all, what the Trayvon Martin tragedy has done is reveal to America that every word uttered by Barack Obama at that Tucson Memorial was nothing more than politically-motivated empty rhetoric.

Nancy Pelosi - Congressman Rush showed 'courage' by wearing hoodie on House floor
House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi said Illinois Democratic Rep. Bobby Rush "deserves a great deal of credit" for showing "courage" by wearing a hooded sweatshirt Wednesday and getting ejected from the House floor in protest of the Trayvon Martin case.UPDATE: Former Black Panther Rep. Bobby Rush (D-IL) made quite a fuss when he donned a "hoodie" during a speech in the U.S. House of Representatives until he was escorted out. At the time, former Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) "applauded his courage" for doing so.
Meanwhile, back home in Rush's district, two men wearing hooded sweatshirts, or "hoodies," were the shooters in an incident that left one dead and five injured.
In fact, during a span of six-hours Thursday night (3/21/2012), 13 people were shot, leaving two dead in Chicago. It would seem it takes more courage to simply walk down the street in Rush's district than it does to wear a hooded sweatshirt in the House of Representatives by way of a stunt in a bizarre tribute to a young man shot and killed in Florida during a shooting incident still under investigation.
