Michael from IL - Romney Speech at VFW

In a speech to the Veterans of Foreign Wars convention in Reno, Nevada, presumptive Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney outlined how he believes his foreign policy vision clashes with President Obama's.

Full Transcript:

"Thank you. Commander Richard DeNoyer, I appreciate the introduction, and I'm proud to see a combat veteran from Massachusetts serving as National Commander of the VFW.

Ladies Auxiliary President Gwen Rankin, incoming National Commander John Hamilton, incoming Ladies Auxiliary President Leanne Lemley, Adjutant General Allen "Gunner" Kent, Executive Director Bob Wallace, distinguished guests and members of the VFW: Thank you for your generous welcome.

I want to start today with a few words about the unimaginable tragedy in Colorado last week. We've since learned that among the victims were four people who had served - or were serving - our country in uniform. Today, our hearts go out to the families of John Larimer of the U.S. Navy; Rebecca Wingo, an Air Force veteran; Jesse Childress, an Army veteran and member of the Air Force reserve; and Jonathan Blunk, a Navy veteran who died shielding his girlfriend from the spray of bullets.

The loss of four Americans who served our country only adds to the profound tragedy of that day. All Americans are grateful for their service and deeply saddened by their deaths. We mourn them and we will remember them.

The VFW is now over two million strong. It has a special place in America's heart. Some of you fought recently, in Iraq or Afghanistan. Others are old enough to have marched, flown, or sailed by orders of Franklin D. Roosevelt. Whatever your age, whether you are a Republican or a Democrat, whenever you served - there's one thing you have in common: You answered the call of your country in a time of war.

From December 7th, 1941 to September 11, 2001, whenever America has been tested, you stepped forward. You come from our farms, our great cities, our small towns and quiet neighborhoods. Many of you have known violence so that your neighbors could only know peace. You have done more than protect America; your courage and service defines America. You are America at our best and it is an honor to address you.

Our veterans are part of a proud tradition that stretches back to the battlefields at Lexington and Concord - and now to places like Fallujah and Kandahar. Year after year, our men and women in uniform have added proud achievements to their record of service. And President Obama pointed to some of them yesterday in his speech.

Any time our military accomplishes a vital mission it is a proud moment for our nation. But we owe our veterans and our military more than just an accounting of our successes. They deserve a fair and frank assessment of the whole picture - of where we are and where we want to be. And when it comes to national security and foreign policy, as with our economy, the last few years have been a time of declining influence and missed opportunity.

Just consider some of the challenges I discussed at your last national convention:

*Since then, has the American economy recovered?

*Has our ability to shape world events been enhanced, or diminished?

*Have we gained greater confidence among our allies, and greater respect from our adversaries?

*And, perhaps most importantly, has the most severe security threat facing America and our friends, a nuclear-armed Iran, become more or less likely?

These clear measures are the ultimate tests of American leadership. And, by these standards, we haven't seen much in the President's first term that inspires confidence in a second.

The President's policies have made it harder to recover from the deepest recession in seventy years ... exposed the military to cuts that no one can justify ... compromised our national-security secrets ... and in dealings with other nations, given trust where it is not earned, insult where it is not deserved, and apology where it is not due.

From Berlin to Cairo to the United Nations, President Obama has shared his view of America and its place among nations. I have come here today to share mine.

I am an unapologetic believer in the greatness of this country. I am not ashamed of American power. I take pride that throughout history our power has brought justice where there was tyranny, peace where there was conflict, and hope where there was affliction and despair.

I do not view America as just one more point on the strategic map, one more power to be balanced. I believe our country is the greatest force for good the world has ever known, and that our influence is needed as much now as ever.

And I am guided by one overwhelming conviction and passion: This century must be an American Century.

In 1941, Henry Luce called on his countrymen - just then realizing their strength - "to create the first great American century." And they succeeded: together with their allies, they won World War II, they rescued Europe, they defeated Communism, and America took its place as leader of the free world. Across the globe, they fought, they bled, they led. They showed the world the extraordinary courage of the American heart and the generosity of the American spirit.

That courage and generosity remains unchanged today. But sadly, this president has diminished American leadership, and we are reaping the consequences. The world is dangerous, destructive, chaotic. And the two men running to be your commander-in-chief must offer their answers to the challenges we face.

Like a watchman in the night, we must remain at our post - and keep guard of the freedom that defines and ennobles us, and our friends. In an American Century, we have the strongest economy and the strongest military in the world. In an American Century, we secure peace through our strength. And if by absolute necessity we must employ it, we must wield our strength with resolve. In an American Century, we lead the free world and the free world leads the entire world.

If we do not have the strength or vision to lead, then other powers will take our place, pulling history in a very different direction. A just and peaceful world depends on a strong and confident America. I pledge to you that if I become commander-in-chief, the United States of America will fulfill its duty, and its destiny.

American leadership depends, as it always has, on our economic strength, on our military strength, and on our moral strength. If any of these falter, no skill of diplomacy or presidential oratory can compensate. Today, the strength of our economy is in jeopardy.

A healthy American economy is what underwrites American power. When growth is missing, government revenue falls, social spending rises, and many in Washington look to cut defense spending as an easy out. That includes our current President.

Today, we are just months away from an arbitrary, across-the-board budget reduction that would saddle the military with a trillion dollars in cuts, severely shrink our force structure, and impair our ability to meet and deter threats. Don't bother trying to find a serious military rationale behind any of this, unless that rationale is wishful thinking. Strategy is not driving President Obama's massive defense cuts. In fact, his own Secretary of Defense warned that these reductions would be "devastating." And he is right.

That devastation starts at home. These cuts would only weaken an already stretched VA system and impair our solemn commitment that every veteran receives care second to none. I will not allow that to happen.

This is not the time for the President's radical cuts in the military. Look around the globe. Other major powers are rapidly adding to their military capabilities, some with intentions very different from ours. The regime in Tehran is drawing closer to developing a nuclear weapon. The threat of radical Islamic terrorism persists. The threat of weapons of mass destruction proliferation is ever-present. And we are still at war and still have uniformed men and women in conflict.

All this and more is ongoing in the world. And yet the President has chosen this moment for wholesale reductions in the nation's military capacity. When the biggest announcement in his last State of the Union address on improving our military was that the Pentagon will start using more clean energy - then you know it's time for a change.

We're not the first people to observe this. It is reported that Bob Gates, the President's first secretary of defense, bluntly addressed another security problem within this administration. After secret operational details of the bin Laden raid were given to reporters, Secretary Gates walked into the West Wing and told the Obama team to "shut up." He added a colorful word for emphasis.

Lives of American servicemen and women are at stake. But astonishingly, the administration failed to change its ways. More top-secret operations were leaked, even some involving covert action in Iran.

This isn't a partisan issue; it's a national security crisis. And yesterday, Democrat Senator Dianne Feinstein, Chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, said, quote, "I think the White House has to understand that some of this is coming from their ranks."

This conduct is contemptible. It betrays our national interest. It compromises our men and women in the field. And it demands a full and prompt investigation by a special counsel, with explanation and consequence. Obama appointees, who are accountable to President Obama's Attorney General, should not be responsible for investigating the leaks coming from the Obama White House.

Whoever provided classified information to the media, seeking political advantage for the administration, must be exposed, dismissed, and punished. The time for stonewalling is over.

It is not enough to say the matter is being looked into, and leave it at that. When the issue is the political use of highly sensitive national security information, it is unacceptable to say, "We'll report our findings after Election Day."

Exactly who in the White House betrayed these secrets? Did a superior authorize it? These are things that Americans are entitled to know - and they are entitled to know right now. If the President believes - as he said last week - that the buck stops with him, then he owes all Americans a full and prompt accounting of the facts.

And let me make this very clear: These events make the decision we face in November all the more important. What kind of White House would reveal classified material for political gain? I'll tell you right now: Mine won't.

The harm done when national security secrets are betrayed extends, of course, to the trust that allies place in the United States.

The operating principle of American foreign policy has been to work with our allies so that we can deter aggression before it breaks out into open conflict. That policy depends on nurturing our alliances and standing up for our common values.

Yet the President has moved in the opposite direction.

It began with the sudden abandonment of friends in Poland and the Czech Republic. They had courageously agreed to provide sites for our anti-missile systems, only to be told, at the last hour, that the agreement was off. As part of the so-called reset in policy, missile defenses were sacrificed as a unilateral concession to the Russian government.

If that gesture was designed to inspire good will from Russia, it clearly missed the mark. The Russian government defended the dictator in Damascus, arming him as he slaughtered the Syrian people.

We can only guess what Vladimir Putin makes of the Obama administration. He regained the Russian presidency in a corrupt election, and for that, he got a congratulatory call from the Oval Office. And then there was that exchange picked up by a microphone that President Obama didn't know was on. We heard him asking Dmitry Medvedev to tell Mr. Putin to give him "space." "This is my last election," President Obama said, and "After my election I'll have more flexibility."

Why is flexibility with Russian leaders more important than transparency to the American people?

President Obama had a moment of candor, however, just the other day. He said that the actions of the Venezuelan dictator Hugo Chavez have not had a serious national security impact on us. In my view, inviting Hezbollah into our hemisphere is severe, serious, and a threat.

But at least he was consistent. After all, this is the president who faltered when the Iranian people were looking for support in their struggle against the ayatollahs. That uprising was treated as an inconvenient problem for the President's policy of engagement, instead of as a moral and strategic opportunity. That terrible misjudgment should never be repeated.

When unarmed women and men in Tehran find the courage to confront their oppressors, at risk of torture and death, they should hear the unequivocal voice of an American president affirming their right to be free.

I will leave Reno this evening on a trip abroad that will take me to England, Poland, and Israel. And since I wouldn't venture into another country to question American foreign policy, I will tell you right here - before I leave - what I think of this administration's shabby treatment of one of our finest friends.

President Obama is fond of lecturing Israel's leaders. He was even caught by a microphone deriding them. He has undermined their position, which was tough enough as it was. And even at the United Nations, to the enthusiastic applause of Israel's enemies, he spoke as if our closest ally in the Middle East was the problem.

The people of Israel deserve better than what they have received from the leader of the free world. And the chorus of accusations, threats, and insults at the United Nations should never again include the voice of the President of the United States.

There are values, causes, and nations that depend on American strength, on the clarity of our purpose, and on the reliability of our commitments. There is work in this world that only America and our allies can do, hostile powers that only we can deter, and challenges that only we can overcome.

For the past decade, among those challenges has been the war in Afghanistan. As commander-in-chief, I will have a solemn duty to our men and women in uniform. A president owes our troops, their families, and the American people a clear explanation of our mission, and a commitment not to play politics with the decisions of war.

I have been critical of the President's decision to withdraw the surge troops during the fighting season, against the advice of the commanders on the ground. President Obama would have you believe that anyone who disagrees with his decisions is arguing for endless war. But the route to more war - and to potential attacks here at home - is a politically timed retreat.

As president, my goal in Afghanistan will be to complete a successful transition to Afghan security forces by the end of 2014. I will evaluate conditions on the ground and solicit the best advice of our military commanders. And I will affirm that my duty is not to my political prospects, but to the security of the nation.

We face another continuing challenge in a rising China. China is attentive to the interests of its government - but it too often disregards the rights of its people. It is selective in the freedoms it allows; and, as with its one-child policy, it can be ruthless in crushing the freedoms it denies.

In conducting trade with America, China permits flagrant patent and copyright violations ... forestalls American businesses from competing in its market ... and manipulates its currency to obtain unfair advantage. It is in our mutual interest for China to be a partner for a stable and secure world, and we welcome its participation in trade. But the cheating must finally be brought to a stop. President Obama hasn't done it and won't do it. I will.

We'll need that same clarity of purpose and resolve in the Middle East. America cannot be neutral in the outcome there. We must clearly stand for the values of representative government, economic opportunity, and human rights. And we must stand against the extension of Iranian or jihadist influence.

Egypt is at the center of this historical drama. In many ways, it has the power to tip the balance in the Arab world toward freedom and modernity. As president, I will not only direct the billions in assistance we give to Egypt toward that goal, but I will also work with partner nations to place conditions on their assistance as well.

Unifying our collective influence behind a common purpose will foster the development of a government that represents all Egyptians, maintains peace with Israel, and promotes peace throughout the region. The United States is willing to help Egypt support peace and prosperity, but we will not be complicit in oppression and instability.

There is no greater danger in the world today than the prospect of the ayatollahs in Tehran possessing nuclear weapons capability. Yet for all the talks and conferences, all of the extensions and assurances, can anyone say we are farther from this danger now than four years ago?

The same ayatollahs who each year mark a holiday by leading chants of "Death to America" are not going to be talked out of their pursuit of nuclear weapons. What's needed is all the firmness, clarity, and moral courage that we and our allies can gather. Sanctions must be enforced without exception, cutting off the regime's sources of wealth. Negotiations must secure full and unhindered access for inspections.

As it is, the Iranian regime claims the right to enrich nuclear material for supposedly peaceful purposes. This claim is discredited by years of deception. A clear line must be drawn: There must be a full suspension of any enrichment, period.

And at every turn, Iran must know that the United States and our allies stand as one in these critical objectives. Only in this way can we successfully counter the catastrophic threat that Iran presents. I pledge to you and to all Americans that if I become commander-in-chief, I will use every means necessary to protect ourselves and the region, and to prevent the worst from happening while there is still time.

It is a mistake - and sometimes a tragic one - to think that firmness in American foreign policy can bring only tension or conflict. The surest path to danger is always weakness and indecision. In the end, it is resolve that moves events in our direction, and strength that keeps the peace.

I will not surrender America's leadership in the world. We must have confidence in our cause, clarity in our purpose, and resolve in our might.

This is very simple: if you do not want America to be the strongest nation on earth, I am not your President. You have that President today.

The 21st century can and must be an American Century. It began with terror, war, and economic calamity. It is our duty to steer it onto the path of freedom, peace, and prosperity.

Fewer members of the Greatest Generation are with us today - and they can't hold the torch as high as they have in the past. We must now seize the torch they carried so gallantly and at such sacrifice. It is an eternal torch of decency, freedom and hope. It is not America's torch alone. But it is America's duty - and honor - to hold it high enough so that all the world can see its light.

Believe in America.

Thank you and God Bless the United States of America."

Mitt Romney

Michael from IL - Jack Wheeler - THE SELF-HATING DISHONESTY OF THE MEDIA

The most destructive, dishonest, and criminally hypocritical people in America today are not Democrat politicians, black race hustlers, Ivy League Marxist professors, or crony/shyster capitalists.

They are the publishers, editors, journalists, and commentators of the Liberal Media: Associated Press-New York Times-WaPo-ABC-NBC-CBS-CNN-MSNBC et al.

You could add the Moonbat Media like Daily Kos and HuffPo, but they're parasitic upon Big Lib Media, without whom no one would pay much attention to them.

We'll abbreviate Big Liberal Media to simply "BM" - appropriately enough for their product is the same as what those initials usually stand for. One of the more astounding things about BM is that its slavish boot-licking of American Commiecrats is indistinguishable from that of Pravda's or Izvestiya's over Soviet rulers during the Cold War - yet with no gun at their heads nor threat of the Gulag.

Winston Smith, in George Orwell's 1984, ended up genuinely loving Big Brother after his will was broken through torture. BM loves Big Brother of their own free will. This is so perverse it's almost anti-human, for it is normally against human nature to willingly be a slave.

A stunningly perfect example of BM perfidy appeared in headlines in newspapers all over the country this past weekend. It was the lead story on Drudge: US Should Return Stolen Land To Indian Tribes, Says United Nations. The Associated Press report's headline was: Mt. Rushmore Should Be Returned to Indigenous Native American Tribes, UN Official Says.

Every one of these stories - in hundreds of news outlets in papers local and national, and in countless websites and blogs - mentions the "official visit to the United States" by James Anaya, the "UN Special Rapporteur," who, after his "official visit," was quoted in a statement "issued by the U.N. human rights office in Geneva."

And in every one of these news stories, James Anaya's only - only - identification is that he is a "UN official," "the Special Rapporteur" (note the pretentious puffed-up Frenchie rapporteur title, instead of "reporter" in English). That's it. Nothing else. You'd think Anaya is a European international bureaucrat, Swiss maybe, as it's made to look like he has a big office in Geneva.

Folks, the guy is an Indian from Albuquerque. He lives in Tucson, where, as an Affirmative Action Baby, he lectures on "International Human Rights" at the University of Arizona Law School. Here's his faculty profile.

Somehow - I'm going out on a limb here - I don't think the headline, Mt. Rushmore Should Be Returned to Native Americans, Native American Teacher in Arizona Says, would generate quite the same media frenzy as one with the UN pretense. That's why every single story on Anaya, without exception, refuses to disclose who he really is. It took me approximately 30 seconds on Google to disclose it for myself.

The guy is a professional anti-American race grievance agitator. His expertise, on which he has written extensively, is the rights of "indigenous peoples" all over the world - yet his focus is exclusively on those in the US, plus Canada and Central America. Here is the full list of his academic publications.

He's an Indian from the Southwest, which once belonged to Mexico, that got it from Spain, that stole it from the "indigenous peoples" who first lived there and in what is now northern Mexico. Is there a single analysis or study of his regarding the rights of Indian tribes in Mexico? Not one.

Further afield, you'd think that anyone with a passion for indigenous rights world-wide would be interested in, say, the largest oppressed indigenous people on earth - the Kurds - or the most oppressed indigenous people on earth - the Tibetans. Nope, on them, Anaya is silent and indifferent.

He'd much rather demagogue Americans, using his "Special Rapporteur" con to demand Mt. Rushmore and the Black Hills be "returned" to the Sioux from whom we "stole" it. And of course, the BM is happy to help with the con.

You'll look in vain throughout the myriad of stories to learn that the Sioux Indians, who claim the Black Hills are "sacred" to them, stole the Black Hills in the early 1800s from the region's real indigenous people, the Arikara, who had lived there for many centuries.

Perhaps Anaya should argue that the Sioux thieves should turn over their claim to the Arikara - who are flourishing now, by the way, as they settled in North Dakota where underneath their land lies the Bakken oil formation. The Bakken Oil & Gas Expo is taking place today (5/09) on Arikara land.

So, why would the BM engage in the Fraud of Anaya? Why would they participate in a media scam to purposefully insult their country? Because the BM is composed of self-hating liberals. But that begs the question, why are they this way? Why can't those in the BM enjoy being American, rather than be embarrassed? Why do they want to hurt their own country?

This is a mystery to many conservatives, but not to TTPers who know the answer: because of the fear that all liberals have, the fear that makes them liberals, the fear that if they cast it aside would be liberals no more - the Fear of the Evil Eye of Envy.

This is most succinctly explained in Why Democrats Cannot Defend America (March 2008).

The key point is that: Liberalism, the mind-set that dominates today's Democrat Party and the BM, is not a political ideology or set of beliefs. It is a psychological strategy to avoid being envied. Liberalism is the politicalization of envy-appeasement.

This is why all Liberal/Democrat passions are frenzies of masochism. It is why the BM is bottomlessly masochistic, why it will sell out all its journalistic integrity, why it is impervious to moral decency and patriotism.

Thankfully, patriots still outnumber masochists in America, while the power of the latter is diminishing. How's this for a thrilling headline? Washington Post Faces Circulation and Revenue Collapse. Or this? CNN Ratings Decline Stirs Worries (at least at the New York Times).

Yet BM remain horrifically and criminally destructive. The rape/murder of 85 year-old Nancy Strait and murder of her 90 year-old husband Bob (who died on May 4) can be laid directly at the feet of NBC, who doctored the Zimmerman tape to maliciously portray him as a racist.

When the black racist monster, Tyrone Woodfork, is tried for his crimes, those at NBC responsible for the tape doctoring should be tried as accessories to murder. They cannot hide behind the First Amendment on this. Theirs was a willfully criminal act.

Yet putting members of the BM in jail will not stop their self-hating dishonesty. The only cure is laughter - our laughing and ignoring them. Our refusing to pander to them or take them seriously. Our exposing their lies and scams for all the world to see - like you can do now regarding the Arizona Race Hustler, James Anaya

Michael from IL - 'Take Back Our Country' - by Joyce Shaffer

"I was born in Cortez, CO. and raised for the first 11 years of my life in Cahone, CO. I have many friends and relatives still in that area. My father was a sharecropper farmer and we were raised poor. I'm the baby of 9 children born to my parents. I moved to Nucla, CO. after my father's death and my mother, who was a saint, finished raising me. I married early and raised two children. My only daughter, Kim, was killed in a car wreck in 1991 and I dealt with that "bad year" for 14 years. Time heals. My only son, Jeff, served with the U.S. Marines in Desert Storm and thank God, came home to us in one piece. My husband is also and ex-Marine. Our family has 7 Marines or former active-Marines and one Air Force grandson. We love this Country and defend it."

Michael from IL - Allen West on Defending America

Rep. Allen West (R-Fla.) had a strong message Saturday (1/28/2012) for President Barack Obama, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi and Democratic National Committee Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz: "Get the hell out."

West made the comments during a speech at a Palm Beach County GOP event in West Palm Beach.

"This is a battlefield that we must stand upon. And we need to let President Obama, Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi and my dear friend, chairman of the Democrat National Committee, we need to let them know that Florida ain't on the table," West said.
The audience was booing by the time West got to Pelosi's name.

"Take your message of equality of achievement, take your message of economic dependency, take your message of enslaving the entrepreneurial will and spirit of the American people somewhere else," he continued. "You can take it to Europe, you can take it to the bottom of the sea, you can take it to the North Pole, but get the hell out of the United States of America."
As the audience cheered and many rose to their feet, West added, "Yeah I said 'hell.'"

"This is not about 1 percent or 99 percent. This is about 100 percent. It's about 100 percent America. And I will not stand back and watch anyone defame, degrade or destroy that which my father fought for, my older brother, my father-in-law, myself, my nephew and all my friends still in uniform," he said.

"I will not allow President Obama to take the United States of America and destroy it. If that means I'm the No. 1 target for the Democrat Party, all I got to say is one thing: Bring it on, baby."

Retired Geek - Obama's Presidency Condensed - Part 5

The Barack Obama CZARS.

It is almost impossible to keep an up-to-date comprehensive list of Barack Obama's CZARS and various sources list anywhere from 32 to 45 Obama CZARS.

NOTE: Anne from PA, Elko Mike, Michael from IL and Retired Geek from VA, contributed to this Article.
Trying to understand anything by the definition of Liberal words, (especially those of Barack Obama) is futile and only leads to confusion of anyone trying to discern what is actually meant.

ObamaSpeak is quite similar to the terms introduced by George Orwell in the dystopian classic "1984", 'DoubleThink' and 'NewSpeak'.

The Orwellian term 'DoubleThink' in simple terms is tightly coupled to 'Cognitive Dissonance', where a person holds two diametrically opposed views of reality as one view, i.e. "War is Peace", "Freedom is Slavery".

The Orwellian term 'NewSpeak' in simple terms, was designed to replace and reduce the concepts of e.g. objectivity and rationalism into one term - 'OldThink'.

The ObamaSpeak term 'Czar', has little if anything to do with the original meaning of the word 'Czar'.

The ObamaSpeak term 'Czar' cannot be understood by definition and must be understood by function.

The German Socialist term 'Führerprinzip' and its intended function, reveals the intended purpose of the ObamaCzar.

This approach is basically a 'Hierarchical' structure where someone is appointed directly and has the sole responsibility of oversight of a particular function i.e. 'Energy', with little interaction with others except for the one who made the appointment.

This effectively bypasses Congress or other oversight and leaves decision making in the hands of the appointer.

In Germany this approach was used not only on business entities but Mayors, Union Leaders etc.

Allison, Herb (TARP Czar):
Fannie Mae CEO responsible for the US recession by using real estate mortgages to back up the US stock market. Caused millions of people to lose their life savings.

Bersin, Alan (Border Czar):
The former failed superintendent of San Diego . Ultra Liberal friend of Hilary Clinton. Served as Border Czar under Janet Reno - to keep borders open to illegals without interference from US.

Blair, Dennis (Intelligence Czar):
Ret. Navy. Stopped US guided missile program as "provocative". Chair of ultra-liberal "Council on Foreign Relations" which blames American organizations for regional wars.

Bloom, Ron (Car and Manufacturing Czar):
Auto Union worker. Anti-business & anti-nuclear. Has worked hard to force US auto makers out of business.Sits on the Board of Chrysler which is now Auto Union owned.

“Generally speaking, we get the joke. We know that the free market is nonsense. We know that the whole point is to game the system, to beat the market. Or at least find someone who will pay you a lot of money, ’cause they’re convinced that there is a free lunch. We know this is largely about power, that it’s an adults-only, no-limit game. We kind of agree with Mao, that political power comes largely from the barrel of a gun.”
Ron Bloom

Brennan, John (Terrorism Czar):
Anti CIA activist. No training in diplomatic or Gov. affairs. Believes Open Borders to Mexico and a dialog with terrorists and has suggested Obama disband US military.

Browner, Carol (Energy and Environment Czar):
Political Radical Former head of EPA - known for anti-business activism. Strong anti-gun ownership.

Bestselling author and political analyst Michelle Malkin reports that Browner, on her final day as Clinton EPA chief in 2001, ordered a computer technician to delete all her computer files, in direct violation of a federal judge's order requiring the agency to preserve those files. When questioned about her actions, Browner claimed that her computer had contained no work-related material, and that she had merely purged the hard drive of such innocuous items as computer games -- as a courtesy to incoming staffers of the Bush administration.

It was later learned that three additional high-ranking EPA officials had also violated the court order and erased their hard drives. Because of this, U.S. District Judge Royce Lamberth held the EPA in contempt of court.

Browner also served as a “commissioner” of the Socialist International (SI), the umbrella group for 170 “social democratic, socialist and labor parties” in 55 countries. SI's “organizing document” cites capitalism as the cause of "devastating crises," "mass unemployment," "imperialist expansion," and "colonial exploitation" worldwide. Browner worked on SI's Commission for a Sustainable World Society, which contends that "the developed world must reduce consumption and commit to binding and punitive limits on greenhouse gas emissions."

Following the disastrous BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico in the spring of 2010, the White House commissioned the Secretary of the Interior, Kenneth Salazar, to issue a safety report as well as recommendations vis a vis future offshore oil drilling. A panel of seven outside advisors assisted Salazar in preparing this report, the final draft of which was sent directly to Carol Browner's office before being forwarded to President Obama. Browner’s staff promptly edited the Salazar document to imply, falsely, that the outside advisors had recommended a drilling moratorium. The tailored draft was then given to the President, who subsequently announced a moratorium on offshore oil drilling.

“The fetus, given the opportunity to develop properly before birth, and given the essential early socializing experiences and sufficient nourishing food during the crucial early years after birth, will ultimately develop into a human being.”
John P. Holdren

Holdren, when asked whether Americans would "need to reduce their living standards," said:

"I think ultimately that the rate of growth of material consumption is going to have to come down, and there’s going to have to be a degree of redistribution of how much we consume, in terms of energy and material resources, in order to leave room for people who are poor to become more prosperous."

In the October 2008 issue of Scientific American, Holdren wrote: “The ongoing disruption of the Earth's climate by man-made greenhouse gases is already well beyond dangerous and is careening toward completely unmanageable.” “Carbon dioxide (CO2),” he added, “is the most important of civilization's emissions and the most difficult to reduce. About 80 percent comes from burning coal, oil and natural gas; most of the rest comes from deforestation in the tropics.”

Today Holdren characterizes researchers who doubt whether human activity is responsible for global warming, or that global warming even poses a serious threat, as people who “infest” the public discourse with “dangerous” ideas that pose “a menace” to humanity.

Immelt, Jeffrey (Jobs Czar):
Barack Obama is creating a 'New Class' of Corporations - The ObamaCorp.

General Electric is an 'ObamaFirst' - Corporations that funded the Barack Obama Campaign in 2008 and are helping Barack Obama raise a Billion dollars for 2012 - have a 'Special Seat' at the White House and pay NO income tax.

The 'GE ObamaCorp' paid NO Corporate tax in 2010 and had operating earnings of 3.6 billion in the first-quarter of 2011 - up 58%.

Big Corporations know it 'Pays' to be an 'ObamaCorp' and Big Corporations will be punished and attacked by Barack Obama if they do not become an ObamaCorp.

Jeffrey Immelt (Jobs Czar) is Moving GE X-Ray Business - to China?

General Electric Co.’s health care unit, the world’s biggest maker of medical imaging machines, is moving the headquarters of its 115-year-old X-ray business to Beijing, China.

Jennings, Kevin (Safe Schools Czar):
A native of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Kevin Jennings was raised by a father who was a Baptist minister, and a mother who was irreligious and anti-Catholic. After graduating from Harvard College in 1985, Jennings took a job as a high-school history teacher. Three years later he became a guidance counselor for America’s first Gay-Straight Alliance (GSA) at the Concord Academy in Massachusetts.

In 1988 a Concord Academy sophomore confided to Jennings that he and an adult male were having a homosexual relationship that had begun in a bus-stop bathroom. Jennings failed to report the boy’s situation (which technically amounted to statutory rape) to authorities. Instead he actively encouraged the relationship, counseling the youngster to use a condom in his sexual encounters. Two decades later, Jennings would concede that “I should have asked for more information and consulted legal or medical authorities.”

In 1990 Jennings founded the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network (GLSEN), a Boston-area volunteer group aiming to fight “homophobia and heterosexism” in K-12 schools throughout the state. Jennings and GLSEN advocated in favor of public-school classroom curricula -- to begin as early as kindergarten -- that would feature a “saturation process” designed to imbue schoolchildren with positive impressions of the homosexual lifestyle.

In a 1995 speech, Jennings explained that in order to counter his critics’ claims that he was actively promoting homosexuality, he would emphasize the idea of “safety” instead:

“If the radical right can succeed in portraying us as preying on children, we will lose. Their language – ‘promoting homosexuality’ is one example – is laced with subtle and not-so-subtle innuendo that we are ‘after their kids.’ … In Massachusetts the effective reframing of this issue was the key to the success of the Governor's Commission on Gay and Lesbian Youth. We immediately seized upon the opponent’s calling card – safety – and explained how homophobia represents a threat to students’ safety by creating a climate where violence, name-calling, health problems, and suicide are common…. This framing short-circuited [our critics’] arguments and left them back-pedaling from day one.”

Jones, Van (Green Jobs Czar):
(Since resigned). Black activist Member of American communist Party and San Francisco Communist Party who said Geo Bush caused the 911 attack and wanted Bush investigated by the World Court for war crimes. Black activist with strong anti-white views.

Jones says he became politically radicalized in the aftermath of the deadly April 1992 Los Angeles riots which erupted shortly after four L.A. police officers who had beaten the now-infamous Rodney King were exonerated in court. “I was a rowdy nationalist on April 28th,” says Jones, “and then the verdicts came down on April 29th. By August, I was a communist.”

Jones was later asked whether President Obama had been aware of Jones' controversial history before appointing him as green jobs czar. Jones replied: "I was fully candid, I mean, about my past, about the ideas that I explored...."

Lee, Jesse (Progressive Media & Online Response CZAR):
In a newly created position, Obama's truth czar, Jesse Lee, will "coordinate rapid response to unfavorable stories" and will "be pressing to make the administration more popular on the web."

The post is a new one for this White House. Rapid response has been the purview of the Democratic National Committee (and will continue to be). Lee's hire, however, suggests that a portion of it will now be handled from within the administration. It also signals that the White House will be adopting a more aggressive engagement in the online world in the months ahead.

Lee has played that role in the past, including writing a semi-infamous White House blog post that said Fox News' Glenn Beck was lying about the administration on his show. His new gig comes with its own Twitter account, precisely for the purposes of disseminating push back.

Jesse Lee is responsible for Obama's Attack Watch. Jessie's wife is a top official at MoveOn.org who was responsible for the attack campaign orchestrated against General David H Patraeus.

Mabus, Ray (Oil Spill CZAR):
Navy Secretary Ray Mabus, who oversees 900,000 Navy and Marine personnel, is inheriting an amorphous second job as the Obama administration’s leader of long-term environmental and economic planning. His task is no less than rebuilding a region still suffering after Hurricane Katrina and beset by decades of environmental problems.

Many describe Ray Mabus as the most incompetent Governor EVER in the State of Mississippi.

Mitchell, George (Mideast Peace Czar):
George Mitchell is a Former Sen. from Maine and is a Left wing radical who is Anti-nuclear, Anti-gun, Pro-homosexual and special-rights advocate.

George Mitchell believes that Israel should be split up into "2 or 3" smaller more manageable areas.

Rosenthal, Hannah (Anti-Semitism Czar):
On November 23, 2009, Rosenthal was sworn into office as the head of President Barack Obama’s Office to Monitor and Combat Anti-Semitism -- a position popularly known as “Anti-Semitism Czar.” Rosenthal had first met Obama in 1996 when he was gaining the support of the Marxist political coalition known as the New Party for his Illinois state senate campaign. Rosenthal's husband, Richard Phelps, was an executive from Madison, Wisconsin who worked closely with Joel Rogers, a co-founder of the New Party.

Former US Communist. Wants US to destroy all WMD unilaterally as a show of good faith.

Stern, Todd (Climate Czar):
Anti-business former White House chief of Staff- Strong supporter of the Kyoto Accord. Pushing hard for Cap and Trade. Blames US business for Global warming. Anti- US business prosperity.

Sunstein, Cass (Regulatory Czar):
Liberal activist judge believes free speech needs to be limited for the "common good". Essentially against 1st amendment. Rules against personal freedoms many times like private gun ownership and right to free speech.

In 1992 Sunstein expressed his view that the office of the U.S. presidency should be elevated to a position higher than that of the president's administration generally, and that the Constitution should be viewed as a "living," evolving document:
"Now, it is alarming to people who want to believe in the unitary executive, like me, that the 19th-century writers thought this was self-evident. [The unitary executive theory holds that a powerful president controls the entire executive branch.] That's the policy recommendation and the conclusion that the Constitution is largely, not entirely, but largely irrelevant. Now, I say what I've said about the Constitutional matter with considerable regret. I wish it weren't so. The executive department's vision of the Constitution, with the president on top and the administration below, has elegance and simplicity and tremendous appeal. It would make much more sense, I submit, given our current situation, to have a Constitution in which the president is on top of administration is below. But that was not the founder's original conception. The Constitution does not speak in those terms…. Because the conclusion that I've reached seems to me so unfortunate, I'm trying hard to figure out what can be done about it…. One thing that perhaps can be done about it is to say, well, we shouldn't really be originalists about the meaning of the Constitution. Maybe Judge Bork had wrong. Maybe we should think that the Constitution has a high degree of flexibility. Maybe it's a changing and living document. Now, under that conception of Constitutional interpretation, maybe we can have the ingredients of a new unitary executive idea."

Zients, Jeffrey (Government Performance Czar):
You can call him President Obama’s weed-wacker. But instead of trimming the front yard, Zients is tasked with removing the ineffective and irrelevant programs run by the federal government.

Jeffrey Zients has Never worked in Government before his appointment by Barack Obama.

Michael from IL - Great Quotes

Mark Twain
Samuel Langhorne Clemens (November 30, 1835 – April 21, 1910), better known by his pen name Mark Twain, was an American author and humorist.

He is most noted for his novels, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer (1876), and its sequel, Adventures of Huckleberry Finn (1885), the latter often called "the Great American Novel."

Twain grew up in Hannibal, Missouri, which would later provide the setting for Huckleberry Finn and Tom Sawyer. He apprenticed with a printer. He also worked as a typesetter and contributed articles to his older brother Orion's newspaper. After toiling as a printer in various cities, he became a master riverboat pilot on the Mississippi River, before heading west to join Orion. He was a failure at gold mining, so he next turned to journalism.

He achieved great success as a writer and public speaker. His wit and satire earned praise from critics and peers, and he was a friend to presidents, artists, industrialists, and European royalty.

Michael from IL - The Bankruptcy of Central Falls, RI

Eileen Norcross looks at how the city of Central Falls, Rhode Island became bankrupt.

What I find positively amazing is how could a town of 16,000 possibly expect shoulder an 80 million dollar pension obligation.

This is exactly what happens when public unions and politicians become too cozy.

With the politicians indebted to the Unions which helped them get elected and hold office, promises are made which are impossible to keep.

If this isn't a prime example of the canary in the mineshaft warning of impending disaster at the local, state and federal levels nothing else is.

It will take a complete and total collapse to awaken these people from their stupor.

Michael from IL - World Economy Collapse explained in 3 minutes

John Clarke and Bryan Dawe calculate the cost of the European debt crisis - A comedy routine. It may seemed hilarious but this is actually what's happening. Without all the financial jargon, any layman can understand what is happening to the current economy crisis.

How can broke economies lend money to other broke economies who haven't got any money because they can't pay back the money the broke economy lent to the other broke economy and shouldn't have lent it to them in the first place because the broke economy can't pay back?

The Speech I'd Give If I Were Running For President

Written by Dr. Jack Wheeler
Thursday, 14 July 2011

[NOTE:  No, I have no intention whatever of running for president.  This is the address that Palin or Perry or Bachman or some major candidate needs to give if we want an end to our current political insanity.]

I am running for president because freedom in America is being systematically destroyed by Demagogues in Washington, and I am determined to restore it.

That capital "D" is there because it is the more appropriate label for Democrats.  The Democrat Party should be referred to as the Demagogue Party, and that is what I shall do until the day comes when they abandon their opposition to fundamental American values and their advocacy of Marxist-Fascist ideology.

We are gathered here today to discuss solutions to the economic crisis the Demagogues have created - a crisis to which they claim there is no solution.   Their Treasury Secretary, Mr. Geithner, has stated this publicly, saying that for a lot of Americans, their lives are going to be, quote, "harder than anything they've experienced in their lifetime now, for a long time to come."

This is a textbook example of Demagogue Marxist idiotic nonsense.  But it is nonsense with a purpose.  Its purpose is to con people into believing it is true, into getting people so depressed and hopeless that they feel they must depend on government handouts for a living - so they will vote for Demagogues providing the handouts, instead of Republicans who want to provide economic opportunity and freedom.

Folks, restoring prosperity in America is easy. It can be achieved quickly, virtually overnight.  Not automatically.  It will require a lot of energy, a lot of focused and intelligent effort by all of us.  The solution to America's Malaise is so simple it can be summarized in seven words.

Those seven words are:  Get the government out of the way.

Those seven words will be the mantra, the theme song, the purpose of my presidency.  Admittedly, I cannot do this on my own.  The President is not a King, as the current occupant of the White House thinks he is.  I will need a Republican Congress to legislate and authorize what I propose.

And here is what I initially propose, a quintet that will quickly result in an explosion of job creation and investment in a rapidly growing American economy:

*The immediate freezing of all proposed federal agency regulations and the retroactive suspension of all regulations by any federal agency issued during the 18 months preceeding my assuming office (January 20, 2013).  Note that this requires only a Presidential Executive Order, no legislation of Congress.

*The elimination of taxes on capital gains.

*The elimination of corporate income taxes.

*The elimination of the depreciation schedule, allowing full expensing of capital assets.

*The repeal of both the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (Sarbox), and the Dodd-Frank Act.

This is just for starters.  There is an immense amount of work to be done to dig us out of the abyss the Demagogues have dug us into.

Which brings me to the First Rule of Holes.  When smart people pretend to be stupid, insisting that the way to dig yourself out of a deep hole is to dig the hole ever deeper instead of stop digging, you know you are dealing with cheats, crooks, and shysters - in a word, with Demagogues.

The insane debate right now over raising the debt ceiling is a classic example.  For Demagogues to play Chicken Little and claim the sky will fall into default and economic Armageddon if the debt ceiling isn't raised is a bald-faced lie.

To be specific, Mr. Obama lied when he threatened on July 12 that there wouldn't be enough money to send out Social Security checks on August 3 if the debt ceiling isn't raised.

The federal government receives more than $200 billion in tax revenue a month.  Interest on federal debt per month is $29 billion.  Social Security costs per month are about $49 billion.  Medicare and Medicaid about $50 billion.  Active duty military personnel and veterans programs some $2.9 billion each.  Those monthly costs add up to around $134 billion - which leaves $66 billion per month left over.

The problem is - and get ready for this - the federal government is spending $108 billion more than it takes in every month now.  The CBO estimates are that Washington spent $973 billion more, which means borrowed, than it received for the first nine months of FY2011.  The Demagogues are digging the hole we're in $108 billion deeper every month - and they say the only way out is to keep digging and borrowing more!

I say no.  I say this has to stop.  Which is why I must admit I am keenly disappointed by my fellow Republicans in the House leadership, whom I feel have been suckered into a red herring trap on this.

They keep proposing ridiculous alternatives to Mr. Obama's impossibly destructive demand to raise both the debt ceiling and taxes - such as "entitlement reform," and agreeing to raise the debt ceiling by trillions right now in exchange for what Congressman Allen West appropriately terms "fairy dust" cuts in spending years from now.

I feel what they need to insist on is spending reform right now.  As we saw in the numbers above, this requires the following actions by the House:

*Refusing to raise the debt ceiling. (Remember that only the House has the Constitutional authority to raise it, or indeed to authorize any and all spending by the federal government.)

*Specifying that the approximately $200 billion in monthly federal revenues be first spent as itemized above (debt interest payment, Social Security, et al).

*Negotiating with Mr. Obama on how the remaining some $66 billion in monthly revenues should be prioritized.  This is the only discussion the House leadership should be having with Mr. Obama.

The discussion should go something like this.  Mr. Obama, you've been spending $174 billion a month beyond the most essential priorities of debt service, Social Security, etc., and as of next month, you'll only have $66 billion.  As Commander-in-Chief, a most basic responsibility of yours is to provide for the national defense, so a significant fraction of that $66 billion must go to the Pentagon.   How do you propose to spend what's left, realizing that a majority of the House has to agree?

Of course, the very first thing that must be tossed overboard like Osama's corpse is ObamaCare.  Next should be the EPA, the Departments of Education and Energy, and such abominations as ethanol subsidies.

This will start clearing the path for what will be the primary goal of my presidency.  For "Getting the government out of the way" is only an intermediate goal, to jump-start our economy back to job creation and prosperity.  My primary goal is Constitutional government.

Succinctly, the relationship between citizens and government created by our Founders is:  citizens can do whatever they want unless it is legally prohibited, while the government cannot do anything unless it is legally permitted.  (The Demagogues want it to be the other way around.)

Thus the purpose of the Constitution is to specify what the federal government is permitted to do. These permissions are called "enumerated powers."  This means that if there is not a specific enumerated power giving the government permission to do something - like those in Article I, Section 8 regarding coining money and maintaining a navy - the government can't do it.

In other words, there is no enumerated power and thus no constitutional authority for the existence of a Department of Labor, Education, Energy, Agriculture, Housing and Urban Development, Commerce, Health & Human Services, Homeland Security, Interior, or Transportation.  There is no authority for the existence of, e.g., the EPA or the Federal Reserve.

There is such constitutional authority for a Department of State, Defense, Justice, and Treasury.

I realize that the elimination of these unconstitutional agencies and departments will not be achieved overnight - Rome wasn't torn down in a day.  But this will be a clear goal my presidency will work steadily towards.

Constitutional government also helps provide a solution to our long-term debt liabilities, such as those in the tens of trillions regarding Social Security.  We often hear the argument now that these unfunded liabilities make the federal government bankrupt, but this is not so.

Bankruptcy occurs when a company's assets are overwhelmed by its liabilities.  But it turns out that the federal government possesses assets which can pay those liabilities off.

The federal government claims ownership of some 650 million acres or 30% of all the land in the United States.  Yet the Constitution allows (Article I, Section 8, clause 17) it to own land only for "the erection of forts, magazines, arsenals, dock-yards, and other needful buildings."

Add to this the value of offshore mineral resources such as oil and gas of the federally-owned Continental Shelf.  Scheduled sales of these assets could easily fund the now-unfunded liabilities of Social Security, as well as pay down our national debt.

As for the fantastic unfunded liabilities of Medicare/Medicaid, we must realize that health care in America is so expensive because of government interference in the medical marketplace.  Once again, the solution is to Get The Government Out Of The Way.

I'll be presenting a policy paper outlining ten steps needed to replace the Health Fascism that we have now with Health Freedom.[1]

In summary, besides eliminating any vestige of ObamaCare, we need to open enrollment in medical schools, reduce hospital administrative costs, eliminate state and regulatory barriers to low-cost health insurance, allow doctors to have waivers for malpractice, eliminate emergency room requirements to serve anyone and absorb the cost, repeal the Effectivity requirement for FDA drug approval, and in general work towards a true medical marketplace.

You know, the great irony of what I'm telling you today is that it provides Mr. Obama with the blueprint he needs to defeat me and win a second term going away.  For if he implements my get-the-government-out-of-the-way plan, the economy will take off like a rocket ship and he'll be in like Flynn by November 2012.

Yet I have no fear that he will do so.  It's not that he's too stupid to.  I don't doubt that he's quite bright - although there will always be wonder until he releases his college transcripts from Occidental, Harvard, and Columbia which he refuses to.

No, it's because he is emotionally incapable of being pro-economic freedom, having a Communist as a childhood mentor (Frank Marshall Davis), attending a Hate America church for 20 years whose preacher prayed for God to damn America (Jeremiah Wright), for choosing Saul Alinsky radicalism as a profession (being a "community organizer"), for never having a private sector job or running even a corner store or gaining the tiniest understanding of business.

What he does understand is crony capitalism, of rent-seeking moocher capitalism, of taking bribes in the form of "campaign contributions" and doling out unconstitutional subsidies and government largesse in return.  A perfect example are the billions he's paid out for various "renewable energy" scams while he incessantly screws the one industry capable of providing us with dependable energy, namely the petroleum (oil and gas) industry.

Make no mistake.  During my presidency, we will Drill, Baby, Drill! to provide Americans with low-cost abundant energy for an ever-more prosperous economy while liberating ourselves from foreign oil.

I can't resist a word here about the greatest scientific fraud in human history:  Warmism.  Anyone who believes that human-produced carbon dioxide (a trace of a trace gas, about 1/10th of 1% of greenhouse gases in the earth's atmosphere) is either a crook or an idiot.

Scientists who took bribes (government grants) to "prove" the crock of Warmism have disgraced themselves and the once-noble profession of science.  When I'm president, trust me, they can kiss their grants goodbye - just like all crony capitalists can kiss their subsidies adios.

This is only a beginning sketch of how I plan to restore prosperity and freedom to America, but I've gone on too long already. I haven't touched on how I plan to reinstate the 10th Amendment or lead a repeal of the 16th and 17th, but that's for another day. Let me conclude with a warning to the Demagogues and a prayer for Republicans.

The warning is this:  Your days of thieving are coming to an end.  Mr. Obama infamously told "Joe the Plumber" his goal as president would be to "spread the wealth around."  Those are the words of a thief.

Mr. Obama:  it's not your money to "spread around" to your moocher cronies.  Honest people think of how to earn money, and once it's earned it's theirs.  Dishonest people think of how to steal money earned by others.  Demagogues call it "redistribution," which is just another word for "theft."

So get the picture, Dems.  No more thieving, no more borrowing - which is stealing from our children and grandchildren who have to pay it back.  Finita la musica - the music is over.

My prayer is this:  That my fellow Republicans will have the courage of their values.  If you don't have the courage to act in accordance with your values, you will abandon them.  Psychologists well know that when someone has a conflict between his or her beliefs and behavior, their beliefs will change to excuse their behavior. Rarely is it the other way around.

Your values are individual freedom and personal responsibility, of earning what you receive in life, of taking pride in being an American, of standing up for America and its founding principles with no apology.  I salute you for those values and pray you act on them without reservation.

My friends, as Ronald Reagan once said, you and I have a date with destiny.  The nightmare of the Obama presidency will soon be over.  America's freedom and prosperity will be restored.  I pledge you that, on my sacred honor.

May God bless the United States of America.
