Doug Giles - Jihad On Our Tax Dollars - Screw That

Since the Boston terrorist attack on 4/15/13 we’ve been learning a whole lot about the two Muslim morons who blew up little children and severely injured hundreds of innocent onlookers and merry marathon runners.

Speaking of the Boston terrorist attack, how long do you think it’ll be before the Leftists and their co-belligerent compadres, the Muslims, start whining about building a mosque close to the finish line of the Boston Marathon? I’ll give it … eh … six months. One-year tops.

Back to getting to know the demonic Frick and Frack brothers.

Of the all the revelations spilling out about the two tools that rained terror down on Bean Town, I guess the one that really gets my goat more than all others is that Massachusetts’ taxpayers actually, albeit unknowingly, pimped these punks’ jihad dreams out. Yep, your tax dollar helped fund these wicked weeds.

Now, I’m not from Massachusetts and I’m not a Red Sox fan, but that sure as shizzle ticks me off, that somehow your hard won cash, over taxed by the state of Mass., was rolled into money for nothin’ for two Muslim asses to bomb your unsuspecting masses.

That. Is. Jacked. Up. People. Jacked Up. I’m talking Capital J … capital U … Jacked Up.

With this blistering revelation of Muslim murderers being on the government dole, I guess we must now instill checks and balances within our welfare system to make certain that they’re not going to hurt us, at least not on our own dime, any longer. No mas, jackwagons.

I don’t know if you guys saw the video released last February where a cleric from England, who actually pulls down a little under $40k from our snaggle-toothed brethren’s welfare coffers, said “free cash” is what we “kuffars” owe Islam. The malcontent actually called it his “Jihadi Allowance”. Yes, he said with preening glee, that we infidels are indebted to Islam for being … well … infidels. I swear, I’m not making this up. You can check it out here.

This makes me wonder if that same mindset has trickled across the pond to the miserable jihadists who’ve rocked up on our shores. Hmmm. Could it be? It appears it was, at least, with the two Boston Bomber twits.

So, what should we do people?

Should we urine test wannabe terrorists that desire our cash while they sit on their asterisks? Can we detect jihad in pee? No? Well, crap. How then are we going to know whether or not we’re funding someone who’s going to blow up a pressure cooker at the next marathon?

That’s a question folks. What do you propose we do to make certain they don’t get one red cent to spill one ounce of our red blood?

Katie Pavlich v. Penny Lee - Debate Mirandizing Dzhokhar - Sean Hannity

The hospital-room questioning of the surviving suspect in the Boston Marathon bombings is generating concern about whether he should have been interrogated without first being told of his constitutional rights to silence and a lawyer – and, conversely, whether federal agents actually should have had more time with him before he was read his rights.

Dzhokhar Tsarnaev faced 16 hours of questioning before he was advised of his Miranda rights, and investigators say he told them of his role in the two bombings near the Boston Marathon finish line on April 15. He explained that he and his brother, Tamerlan, were angry about the U.S. wars in Afghanistan and Iraq and the killing of Muslims there, according to two U.S. officials who spoke on condition of anonymity because they weren't authorized to discuss the case with reporters.

He also described a spur-of-the-moment plan that the brothers hatched to drive to New York and set off their remaining explosives there, New York City officials said Thursday.

Did You Know?

The NYCHA (New York City Housing Authority) has 633,177 New Yorkers living in NYCHA’s Public Housing and Section 8 Programs. If NYCHA was a city, it would rank 22nd in population size in the United States (7.6% of New York City’s population).

Approximately 1 in 8 of the people walking the streets of New York live in Public Housing and receive food stamps and other subsidies.

NYCHA oversees a network of over 400 community facilities that include community centers, senior centers, health care centers, day care and Head Start educational centers.

Programs at many of these centers include sports, photography, painting, literacy classes and general education courses, computer training, arts and crafts, childcare feeding and lunch, and senior companion initiatives.

Jonah Goldberg - Church and state, Newtzilla, social media, and the second favorite flavor

This week on Uncommon Knowledge, columnist, scholar, and social media maven Jonah Goldberg discusses topics including the unconstrained vision of the left, the problem with Romney, the reality of diversity, why vanilla is everyone's second favorite flavor, and offers some wise but unpalatable advice to conservative voters. He cites Bill Voegeli's essential book Never Enough: America's Limitless Welfare State.
"I do not think they hate Romney that much... Vanilla is everyone's second favorite flavor. And so they do not hate him, but they do not love him. And they really want to love someone. They want to be in love with a candidate. And they have these sorts of tawdry affairs with everybody else, other than Romney this entire primary season."

Star Parker - Memo to Romney: Whole Nation Is On Government Plantation

Here’s free advice for Mitt Romney.

Before bringing up the poor again, read my book “Uncle Sam’s Plantation.”

Romney has been taking a drubbing about his remarks in a CNN interview that he is “not worried about the very poor…we have a safety net there…If it needs a repair, I will fix it.” And then going on to say it is “..middle income Americans…that are really struggling…” that are his concern.

What the now Republican presidential frontrunner missed in his off-the-cuff economic analysis of American class is that the cause driving the struggle among both low and middle income Americans is the same.

Economic stagnation and social breakdown caused by welfare state socialism.

As I explain in “Uncle Sam’s Plantation,” America’s inner cities offer laboratory results for what is wrong today with the whole country.

If you want to know why America is failing, look at why our inner cities are failing.

Governor Romney is incorrect to label as a safety net welfare state programs like Temporary Assistance for Needy Families, Job Opportunities and Basic Skills Training, Emergency Assistance to Needy Families with Children, Section 8 Housing, and Food Stamps.

A safety net is what is provided when a free person, acting on their own initiative, falls and we offer assistance to help them get back up and start again.

The welfare state amounts to wholesale takeover of individual lives. As opposed to government stepping in to soften the blow, the welfare state assumes from the start that individuals won’t make it without government managing their lives.

It is not an accident that despite some ten trillion dollars spent on anti-poverty programs since the 1960’s there is little discernable change in our poverty rate.

The problem was made worse because the broken families and broken spirits resulting from government plantation dependence have institutionalized inner city poverty.

If America is going to get back on track, we must appreciate that we are doing to our whole country what we did to America’s poor.

Seventy percent of government spending today consists of transfer payments – government redistributing funds from one set of individuals to others.

Even before the Obamacare government takeover, our health care market was already dominated by government. About ten percent of our healthcare expenditures today are out-of-pocket expenditures by individuals. About half of health care expenditures in 1960 were individual out-of-pocket expenditures.

Despite the central role that government sponsored enterprises – Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac – played in the recent housing collapse, their role in the housing market today has become even greater.

In 2011, 95% of all new mortgages were bought or guaranteed by Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, or FHA.

And, of course, just about every working American is part of Social Security and Medicare, both of which are now fiscally untenable.

Now layer on to all this Obamacare, a trillion dollars in spending on stimulus programs, and bailouts of banks and auto companies. And five trillion in new debt, a 45 percent increase, over the last four years as a down payment on it all.

The bigger role government plays in our lives, the more America resembles the Post Office rather than FedEx.

And the bigger role government plays, the harder it is to fix the problem because individuals become used to these programs and fear fundamental change.

Mitt Romney touts his business experience as his qualification for the presidency.

That business experience amounted to turning companies around, improving their performance by making more efficient use of their assets.

This is exactly what our country needs today. A reallocation of our assets from government to private sector efficiency.

Getting off Uncle Sam’s Plantation is no longer a problem limited to our poor. It is a problem and challenge for the whole country.

Star Parker - Welfare dependency destroys black families

Star Parker appears on Varney and Company (August 2011) explaining how the entitlement mentality has destroyed the black family.

Stuart Varney: It is entitlement week on Fox Business network. Star Parker, admitted former welfare cheat and president of CURE is live with us now. Star, welcome to the program.

Star Parker: Well, thank you, it's good to be back with you.

Varney: Indeed it is. We've been running clips earlier in the program of your interview with John Stossel where you're saying how easy it was to get a couple of checks a month to pay for your food and all the rest of it. Here's my question, though. When you were on welfare, when you were cheating and doing it, did you feel you were cheating or did you feel, 'hey look, it's out there, I'm entitled to it.' Give it to me. How did you feel when you were doing it?

Star: I didn't have any feelings. I was also on drugs. It didn't matter because I had bought the lie that poor people are poor because rich people are rich so I didn't have any problem with going on welfare to pay for my life. But now remember, you didn't have to use your check to pay for food because you also get food stamps.

Varney: So when you were on welfare, you got cash welfare, you certainly got food stamps, your rent was paid for, medical treatment was paid for...was everything paid for by the government?

Star: Yes, everything was paid for by the government, but keep in mind that Uncle Sam is cruel to the poor. These programs don't work for them. We have over 4,000 housing projects in this country. It's not working for the people -- you just get addicted to it like any other drug and you start depending on that life and it spirals you into a little dark hole.

Varney: So, I've been making a point this week that the recipients of this extensive entitlement program, that the recipients are actually destroyed by it. Now that's a very strong thing of me to say. Would you agree with it?

Star: I absolutely agree. The recipient is not only destroyed, but their personal dignity, and then they become much more addicted for all of their lives, but whole communities are destroyed. Let's look at what happened, for instance in the black community -- the impact of this entitlement mentality and welfare -- government dependency.

After the war on poverty in the 60s, we began to see the unraveling of the entire black community because the family collapsed. During the 60s, the black family was pretty healthy. Seventy-eight percent of husbands were in their homes with their wives raising their children. But after this lure to government that said "you don't have to work, you don't have to save, you don't have to get married," over time marriage stopped occurring to where now 7 out of 10 black children are born outside of marriage and what happens when you don't have that intact family is your values change. So your culture changes. So your community changes.

Varney: You're out there now very publicly saying the entitlement mentality is a very bad thing, it destroys communities. What's the reaction to you now saying what you're saying?

Star: Well, depends on who I'm saying it to. Some give me death threats and others say 'tell us more.' How did you get out? And that's one of the reasons I wrote my book "Uncle Sam's Plantation" because I want people to understand that they don't have to live at the hand of the government.

You know, I'm spending my life, as you said, I'm running an organization here in Washington, DC, spending my life, I suppose, to pay back society to get everybody off of welfare. I just feel there are some contributions that everybody can make without Uncle Sam telling them 'don't worry about your life, just live off our hand from womb to tomb.'

Varney: I just want to know, real briefly, get a lot of hostility?

Star: Do I get hostility? Well, of course I do. Hey, being a black conservative in this society is social suicide: you live alone, you have a lonely life.

Varney: Well, welcome to the program, it's very good to have you. It's Star Parker.

Star Parker - Payroll Tax "Cut" Just Another Welfare State Scam

Last year a one year cut in the payroll taxes that working Americans pay to finance Social Security was enacted in the name of so-called economic “stimulus.”

But, like the rest of the economic stimuli that have come from Washington over the last three years, the only thing that has been stimulated is the growing hole of national debt into which we sink deeper and deeper.

But now, not without surprise, our president and his Democrat colleagues want to continue, and possibly expand, this payroll tax holiday despite its obvious failure.

But wait a second. Failure is a matter of definition.

If the point was helping get our economy back on the road to growth and prosperity, the payroll tax holiday has been a failure.

But if the point of the payroll tax holiday is not to reduce government interference in our lives but to keep it, grow it, and strengthen the decided movement of the last three years to turn our nation into a welfare state plantation, it’s a great idea.

And that is really what is going on here and why President Obama and his Democrat colleagues on Capitol Hill love the idea.

Unlike our income taxes that government takes for general revenue and unspecified spending, the payroll tax is earmarked and specified. It pays for Social Security.

A cut in income taxes, even if not accompanied with an equivalent cut in government spending, puts the pressure for such cuts in place and carries with it the prospect of reduction of government interference in our lives.

But there is no such possibility with the payroll tax. When the tax was reduced “temporarily” last year from 6.2 percent to 4.2 percent, were working Americans asked to agree to an equivalent cut in their Social Security benefits that that payroll tax pays for?

Of course not.

What politician in his or her right mind would suggest to working Americans that they intend to cut Social Security benefits?

But cutting the payroll tax is a dream idea for anyone whose project is turning our nation into a welfare state.

This is because, unlike the income tax, which almost half Americans don’t pay, practically every working man and woman pays the payroll tax.

And, what the payroll tax pays for, Social Security, is impossible to cut.

So, if the payroll tax is cut, you have to find another way to pay for those Social Security retirement benefits.

So how about rich people?

Democrats would like for super high income earners, the top one percent, who already pay 40 percent of America’s income taxes, to also start paying for everyone’s Social Security benefits.

Why not also force high income earners to put their addresses up on the internet and we can all send them our grocery bills, our car payments, and our kid’s tuition bills? Let’s get the rich to pay for all our bills, including our retirement.

Unfortunately, some Republicans are allowing themselves to be suckered into this political blackmail.

Cutting payroll taxes earmarked for a Social Security system that is already bankrupt is no way to run a country and no way for people that are allegedly free and responsible citizens to live.

And using a payroll tax holiday as a back door plan to turn Social Security into a middle class welfare program does not bode well for our nation’s future.

If the point is to fix Social Security, let working Americans keep their payroll tax and use it to fund their own private retirement account – an idea that three of four Americans under fifty favor.

If the point is to restore our economy, let’s cut the trillion dollars in new spending we’ve larded into the government over the last three years and start focusing on rewarding rather than punishing individual freedom and success.

Standard & Poor's downgraded the United States from its AAA rating for the first time in history. The downgrade and the riots are part of the same story: Big Government debauches not only a nation's finances but its human capital, too. The London rioters are the children of dependency, the progeny of Big Government: they have been marinated in "stimulus" their entire lives.
