Wow, after five years of his loyal constituents supporting him and receiving nothing in return, it was nice to see President Obama address this year’s all black male Morehouse College graduates. Obama even found his black vernacular as he always does before a black crowd, saying “I know some of you are just graduating, thank you Lordy.” As if all black people walk, talk, and think alike. Sickening and offensive.
Nevertheless, the last time Obama spoke to an historically black college or university was in 2007 at Howard University when he was trailing Hillary Clinton in the black vote for the Democrat presidential nomination. Can we say pandering?
Equally surprising during his Morehouse commencement address, Obama referred to himself “as a black man like you” something he rarely, if ever has done. Obama didn’t refer to himself as a black man during his re-election campaign either. In fact, quite the opposite, as America’s first black president he’s largely made it a point of distancing himself from black America but ironically need black Americans vote each time to win.
In his first term Obama had no appetite for the problems facing black Americans even though over 95% of blacks voted for him in 2008 and 93% in 2012. The Congressional Black Caucus (CBC), Obama’s black voter water carriers, barely got one meeting with the president during his first term. According to the editor of the blog Crew of 42 and managing editor of Politic365, Obama has met with the CBC only three times since 2009.
In 2012, CBC Chairman Emmanuel Cleaver told the media that if Hillary had been president or any white person with the black jobless rate at 14%, “we’d be marching around the White House.” Instead, the CBC gave Obama a break because he’s black. And with this lousy record, Cleaver and CBC members told blacks to vote for Obama a second time and they did.
Obama is “black” when convenient. The president throws blacks a few bones during elections to keep them in his pocket, ignoring them the rest of the time and delivering them nothing for their loyalty. His Morehouse speech was a nice diversion for the mainstream media from the growing scandals (IRS, AP and Benghazi) in his administration.
Remember when Republican Rep. Peter King, Chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee, held hearings in 2011 and 2012 on the radicalization of Muslims here at home?
"Today, we must be fully aware that homegrown radicalization is part of Al Qaeda's strategy to continue attacking the United States," King said. "Al Qaeda is actively targeting the American Muslim community for recruitment. Today's hearing will address this dangerous trend.”
Democrats stopped short of calling King a racist publically but howled, “How dare he stereotype Muslims?” Well, the Boston marathon terrorist attack suggests King was right and Democrats were wrong. The left leaning news media was wrong too. Moments after the attack many in the mainstream media suggested the bombings looked like the work of “right wing radicals,” even though the pressure cooker bombs used in the Boston attack are a trademark of al Qaeda.
Chechen brothers Tamerlan and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, who emigrated from Chechnya and were legally living in the US for the past 10 years, set off bombs at the Boston marathon finish line then terrorized the city for nearly a week. The older brother Tamerlan posted Islamic extremist videos on YouTube, one of which “extolled an extremist prophecy associated with al Qaeda.”
Chechnya is predominately Muslim country and according to the Wall Street Journal most Chechens are Sunni Muslims. The Tsarnaev brothers are Muslim, and early evidence suggests it’s highly possible they became “radicalized Muslims” during the time they lived in America.
Before the two terrorized Boston, Muslims living in America were committing terrorist attacks on the “homeland.” The 2009 Fort Hood shooting and the 2011 Times Square bomb attempt. If the shoe fits, well then Muslims are wearing it well.
Yet in the changing face of terrorist threats to America, President Barack Obama and Democrats are loathe to use the word terrorist and Muslims in the same sentence for fear of offending the jihadists. During King’s first hearing in 2011, Rep. Keith Ellison (D-MN), a practicing Muslim, said, "This committee's approach to this particular subject is contrary to the best of American values and threatens our security." Sheila Jackson Lee (D-Tex.) chimed in that "This hearing today is playing right now into al-Qaeda, around the world.”
After the Boston attack, perhaps Rep. Ellison can see what’s contrary to American values and threatens our security is Muslim terrorists who injured over 175 people and killed three with their bombs. Perhaps it’s time for Mr. Ellison to get off his political correctness high horse and face the facts, however offensive they may be to him.
Jackson also should take note that it was her comment not the hearing that played right into the hands of al-Qaeda and radical Muslims. Radicals like the Tsarnaev brothers probably watched King’s hearings and thought Democrats like Jackson’s obsession with political correctness “played right into their hands,” making it easier for them to wage terrorist attacks on cities like Boston. Democrats and Obama need to worry more about the safety of Americans and less about offending our enemies, which include Muslims at home and abroad.
Now Congress is a bunch of “shameful” liars, according to President Barack Obama because the Senate didn’t vote for a slew of gun control amendments he demanded. In his remarks about the Senate gun bill’s demise, Obama took his hypocrisy and insults to new heights, revealing an arrogance of power we haven’t seen since President Richard Nixon’s Watergate.
Never mind that some Democrat Senators voted against the expanded background check proposed by Senators Pat Toomey (R-PA) and Joe Manchin (D-W.VA), Obama lambasted Republicans. “90 percent of Republicans in the Senate just voted against that idea,” said Obama. He added, “the gun lobby and its allies willfully lied about the bill.”
No, not the National Rifle Association (NRA), Republicans and Democrats told the American people they didn’t think this sprawling bill with all its amendments would do anything to prevent gun violence.
“Would it have prevented the most recent acts of gun violence? In all likelihood, no,” said Senator John McCain, even though he supported the Manchin-Toomey amendment for expanded background checks at gun shows and other commercial sales.
Who do you think Obama is referring to when he uses the word “allies” of the gun lobby? Republicans. Throughout his remarks, Obama castigated and insulted both Republicans and Congress, as if he was running an empire and they were his subjects.
“So all in all, this was a pretty shameful day for Washington.”
“But we can do more if Congress gets its act together.“
Seriously? Does Obama think insulting Congress, which makes up a third of government, is the best way to accomplish immigration reform and come to an agreement with Republicans on the government’s budget? In his gun outrage, Obama kissed his second term goodbye.
Obama might have more luck with Congress if he treated them like an equal partner rather than lecturing members like children how bad they are or telling them what to do as though they were pupils to his will. Equally disturbing was the president accusing the gun lobby and its allies of “spreading untruths about this legislation” and being “better financed.” What a crock! When things don’t go Obama’s way, suddenly the definition of the democratic process is changed.
If anyone spread untruths about a piece of legislation, it was Obama, Rep. Nancy Pelosi and Senator Harry Reid about Obamacare. They lied how much it would cost. And the American people had no idea what was in the over 2,000 pages of the bill because as then-Speaker Pelosi said in 2010, “we have to pass the bill to see what’s in it.”
As for Obama accusing the NRA of being better financed then Democrats that’s disingenuous also. Obama founded Organizing for Action, which he claims is a non-profit but looks and smells just like a Super PAC replete with a donate button. Perhaps it’s time for Obama to do some truth telling and stop thinking Americans are stupid.
But the biggest slap in the face Obama gave to anyone in his White House gun rant was to black America. Everyone recalls the tragic story of Hadiya Pendleton being gunned down in Chicago January 29th, days after performing at Obama’s 2013 inaugural. The city of Chicago, from which Obama hails and represented as a U.S. Senator, is plagued by gun violence, specifically black on black gun violence.
Yet, Obama never mentioned Hadiya in his remarks or the grim statistics of blacks killing and being killed by guns at a higher rate than whites. He uttered the word Chicago once. But Obama referred to the tragedy of Newtown and Gabby Giffords. Obama invited parents of the 20 slain kids of Sandy Hook Elementary in Newtown Connecticut to fly on Air Force One but never offered Hadiya’s parents a flight.
The fact is the Senate bill never had a chance. It was so larded down with amendments and emotions intended to grab headlines that it fell under its own weight. This president truly thinks he’s special because he’s the first black president (and may be our last) and Congress must bow to his will. He’s got a lot of learning to do.
President Barack Obama just couldn’t help himself. He saw a pretty woman, channeled his inner Bill Clinton, and swooned over California’s Attorney General Kamala Harris. At a fundraising event, the Commander in Chief described Harris as “by far the best looking attorney general in the country.”
“It’s true! C’mon,” Obama responded, as the crowd roared with laughter in agreement, according to news reports. I wonder what First Lady Michelle Obama thought about her husband’s comment?
Both Harris and Obama were just outside of San Francisco April 4th attending a DNC event to raise money for the 2014 mid-term elections. Obama certainly has his priorities in order. Instead of reducing the country’s mounting debt and deficit, he’s helping Democrats win control of the House.
Not only was the comment sexist but beneath the dignity of the President of the United States. If Obama made such a comment in the private sector about a female co-worker, he likely would have been terminated on the spot and slapped with a sexual harassment lawsuit. But American’s can’t terminate our president for behaving badly.
On the flip side, this is a classic example of the liberal media’s double standard for conservatives. If George W. Bush described a female lawmaker as essentially being a hottie, there would have been howls from mainstream press that dominates our news media. But Obama can call CA Attorney General Kamala Harris the "best looking AG in the country" and the media's response to our first black president is, “Go ahead brother,” in so many words.
That’s what Jonathan Capehart thinks. Capehart defended Obama’s loose lips comment about Harris, “a compliment.” You can’t make this stuff up. Capehart wrote:
“President Obama prides himself on telling the truth. And when he reportedly said that California Attorney General Kamala Harris is ‘by far, the best looking attorney general,’ he spoke the God’s honest truth.” You just can’t make this stuff up. In Capehart’s mind-boggling defense of Obama, Capehart reminds us he’s one of “them,” part of elite group of Democrats who’s been in Obama’s presence at the White House.
“And Harris was a guest at the state dinner for British Prime Minister David Cameron. (Full disclosure: We were at the same table that night.),” added Capehart.
No matter what this president does, Obama’s loyal flock come to his defense, particularly his black supporters, even if it means overlooking the facts and blatant insults. In 2011, Obama spoke to the Congressional Black Caucus’ Annual Dinner and told blacks they needed to “take off your bedroom slippers, stop complainin, and stop grumblin.” Many conservatives like myself thought the remarks were racist but most blacks didn’t seem bothered and the liberal media was mostly muted on the topic. Former CBC Chairman Emmanuel Cleaver said in 2012 that with the black jobless rate at 14%, almost twice the national average at the time, Cleaver said “if we had a white president we’d be marching around the White House.” But Cleaver said the CBC cut Obama some slack cause he was black.
Back to Capehart, who wrote “judging by some of the comments I’ve seen on Twitter you’d swear the president was guilty of luridly cat-calling a woman he doesn’t know. If I thought for one moment that’s what was going on, you better believe I’d hammer him for it.” That’s exactly what was going on and whether Obama knew Harris or not doesn’t give him a license to reduce a woman of power to her looks.
I guess if Obama kissed Harris on the mouth, Capehart would consider that gesture worthy of “hammering” the president. Instead of lecturing his readers to “lighten up” on Obama, perhaps Capehart should open his eyes and “get serious” in his coverage of the president.

I’m not writing about Rep. Don Young (R-Alaska) calling illegal Mexican workers “wet backs” despite liberals demanding I, as a Conservative Black Chick, “respond to his racist comment.” Instead, I'm writing about liberals calling me a coon, Baap B*ch, and c*nt. You know, the under reported story of liberals vicious attacks on black conservatives.
Since Dr. Ben Carson uncorked himself as a black conservative during his speech at the White House Prayer breakfast, he’s been called an “Uncle Tom” and mocked by MSNBC Toure as having “intellectual tumors in his mind.” And of course civil rights attorney Leo Terrell, who told Sean Hannity “Carson is [a] monster...and should stay in the operating room.”
Agitated by the vitriol hurled at Carson, one of the world’s preeminent pediatric neurosurgeons, I thought it was timely to remind everyone that Carson, though a new face to the movement, certainly isn’t the only black conservative to be assailed by the left. On a daily basis, black Janes and Joes are verbally abused for choosing to call themselves Republican or conservative.
Here’s a little sampling of some the hate emails I receive regularly for choosing to exercise my First Amendment right as a BLACK, conservative woman. (Note emails haven’t been altered to correct spelling.)
“Are you one of Ann Coulter's good n**gers? She said their n**gers were better than the democtratic n**gers. Do you agree with that racist?”
And this. . .
“You are a wicked little Baap B*tch.Uttering you hatred for Black Men and our people at the .T.E.A. Party rallies(Tyrranical .Evil Aryan Party and at the C.PA.C. Conservative Political Aaction Committee.WE hope that all Wickedly Beautiful Baap Women Like you Litteraly burn in Hell.”
All the attacks on black conservatives are usually limited to name-calling, and never about policy differences. The left relentlessly calls black conservatives crude names to belittle us into silence, tame us into submission, and intimidate those of us in the closet from coming out. Message: know thy black place.
Why this rabid hate from the left? Because black conservatives challenge the stereotypical black box liberals have put blacks in. According to liberals, blacks must vote Democrat because of the color of their skin. When was the last time anyone demanded to know why a white person voted Democrat or Republican?
The more black conservatives talk about policies of opportunity, individualism, smaller government and less taxation, the more black Americans start questioning why they are voting for Democrats in the first place. They begin asking themselves what have Democrats done for blacks that has been so great?
In a nutshell, black conservatives get other blacks thinking; they awaken the beast within: political choice! This scares the hell out of Democrats because people like Dr. Carson with national exposure dismantle liberal policies of government-based success. Black conservatives threaten to chip away at Democrats’ loyal “Uncle Tom” voter base—the over 90% of blacks who voted for Obama twice and like a herd of sheep have remained loyal to Democrats for the past forty-plus years. In return blacks have witnessed diminished wealth compared to their white counterparts, lower high school graduation rates, and over 70% out of wedlock birth rate compared to 23% in 1964.
Juan Williams wrote recently in the Wall Street Journal that according to Justice Department data from 1980-2008, “ blacks were six times more likely as whites to be homicide victims and seven times more likely as whites to kill.” One could say black Democrats better define the dutiful slave Uncle Tom in Harriet Beecher Stowe’s “Uncle Tom’s Cabin” because he followed his master’s orders and never thought for himself.
The mere words same-sex marriage connote it’s not a “marriage” by use of the term, but rather an aberration of a societal norm that a small group are determined to force onto the majority. Only 3% of Americans are gay.
Since the beginning of time, before marriage was formally recognized by state laws, it was defined between a man and a woman not just for kicks, but because people of the opposite sex have coupled off to procreate, as a means of continuing society. It takes a man and woman to biologically create a baby, so naturally society began to recognize marriage between a man and a woman to encourage stable families and cultures.
Two men and two women will never be able to create a baby. This is fact not fiction. People argue that not every married couple has children. While every married couple won’t choose to have babies or be able to, marriage between a man and woman is at the core of society’s cultural foundation and must be protected.
The Supreme Court is hearing arguments in two cases, California’s Proposition 8, where citizens voted to ban gay marriage, and the 1996 Defense of Marriage Act, defining marriage between a man and a woman. Proponents of gay marriage are asking the court to ignore centuries of a societal norm and legalize gay marriage as the law of the land on the basis of the 14th amendment.
Activists often refer to the 1967 Loving vs. Virginia case to argue that denying gays a right to marriage is discriminatory. In the Loving case, the Supreme Court ruled laws banning interracial marriage were illegal because they violated the 14th Amendment’s “equal protection of the laws” clause, which applied to all citizens. Mildred Loving, a black woman, and her husband, Richard, a white man, had the right to marry because the institution of marriage is inherently between a man and a woman, not between two men or two women, and therefore gay couples don’t have a right to marriage.
During arguments in the California case, Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia plainly pointed out, marriage has never been a “fundamental” right for gays, as lawyer Theodore Olson tried to assert. “When did it become unconstitutional to exclude homosexual couples from marriage? 1791? 1868, when the 14th Amendment was adopted?” said Scalia.
For gays to suggest a right to marry is akin to blacks fighting for civil rights is not only preposterous but also offensive to the highest order. Emmett Till, a 14 year old black boy was beaten, his eye gouged out, murdered, and thrown in the bottom of a lake with a “cotton gin fan barbed wired to his neck” all because he whistled at a white woman. Till was denied civil rights. The Supreme Court declared black slaves property instead of citizens in the 1857 Dred Scott case; therefore denying blacks equal rights to their white slave masters under the Constitution. I don’t see how denying gays marriage rights is akin to slavery holding blacks in bondage as property, as liberals assert.
My mother and father joined “sit ins” at segregated lunch counters in the 1960s to fight for the basic right to eat, work, live and learn in the same places as whites. Blacks and some whites were lynched, murdered, hosed down and arrested so blacks could enjoy their undeniable rights under the Constitution. I don’t see gays undergoing the same struggle in their quest to marry.
America is almost a moral wasteland as it is. People are expected to look the other way, condone and accept as societal norms things like teen pregnancy, out of wedlock births, and the left’s constant mockery and disintegration of traditional family values. Cue the liberal rant: “Stay at home mom Ann Romney never worked a day in her life.”
It’s no coincidence that 38 states where gay marriage was placed on the ballot voters rejected it because it attempts to redefine a societal norm. Nine States and the District of Columbia allow gay marriage. The DC Council voted to approve gay marriage, bypassing a ballot initiative for fear residents would reject it. Of the remaining states, courts forced them to allow gay marriage. While some states have voted in favor of gay marriage, the majority voted against it because they think it’s wrong.
What’s overlooked in the gay marriage debate is that gays represent 3% of the US population yet they are attempting to force their life choices as mainstream on the 97% majority. From gay marriage, to gay adoptions, homosexual curriculum in public schools, and the demand for gay Boy Scouts leaders, when will this gay war on society END?
President Obama is good at spending money and very adroit at blaming Republicans for the many failures of his presidency. Four years under his belt and another four to go and Obama continues the blame game with gusto. Now Obama is topping his own standard of hypocrisy and blaming the $1.2 trillion sequester on Republicans when the idea was Obama’s in 2011.
“And that’s why it’s so troubling that just 10 days from now, Congress might allow a series of automatic, severe budget cuts to take place that will do the exact opposite,” declared his Royal Highness Obama.
Let’s get this straight, it’s Congress’ fault sequestration, also known as the automatic spending cuts, is about to happen even though it was Obama’s idea? Apparently, Obama also never said in November 2011: “I will veto any effort to get rid of those automatic spending cuts, domestic and defense spending. There will be no easy off ramps on this one.”
Oh, well he’s Obama and the media doesn't hold him accountable to a record much less his words. The first round of $85 billion in yearly automatic cuts for the next ten years is set to rip March 1, 2013. In his usual haughty tone of denying culpability, Obama continued:
“So these cuts are not smart. They are not fair. They will hurt our economy. They will add hundreds of thousands of Americans to the unemployment rolls. This is not an abstraction -- people will lose their jobs. The unemployment rate might tick up again."
If the sequester isn't “fair”, why didn't the president get serious about solving the problem of government spending and debt in 2011 during the debt ceiling talks? Instead, Obama proposed the sequester to which Republicans in Congress objected in favor of serious budget belt-tightening?
In the summer of 2011, Obama waged a PR war demanding Republicans in Congress raise the nation’s debt ceiling (its ability to borrow) so Obama could spend more money. Republicans said they would only raise the debt ceiling (now $16.5 trillion) if Obama agreed to cut government spending. When the two sides couldn't agree to significant cuts and Obama rejected House Speaker Boehner’s offer to raise $800 billion in taxes, the White House proposed “sequestration.”
If the sequester, again OBAMA’S IDEA (see page 326, The Price of Politics), isn't “smart” and “will hurt our economy” why didn't Obama deal with it in January 2013 instead of demanding $600 billion in tax increases on higher earners over 10 years. This amounts to $60 billion a year, which will pay down less than 5% of Obama’s $1trillion yearly deficits/over spending habit.
Obama didn't want to deal with the sequester in January so Congress kicked the can down the road until March 1, 2013. Voila, here we are less than 10 days away from sequestration with the Commander in Chief once again demanding action from Congress, as if he is a bystander to government not part of it. Half of the $85 billion in cuts would come from Defense and the other half from discretionary domestic spending, which is only a 5% cut. The Wall Street Journal calls it The Unscary Sequester, reminding readers Hurricane Sandy aid was $60 billion to put things in perspective.
We've seen this act before from Obama: 2012 and 2010 Bush tax cut stand off, 2009 stimulus, Obamacare, Dodd Frank, etc. His script is always the same, “Congress do it, do it now. Republicans you are getting in my way, you are bad. I’m the first black president. I deserve anything I want and will not be held to the same standards of my predecessors.”
This is what Obama is saying and he’s getting away with it. Why? Because Obama enjoys a “fawning media” who perpetuates his preposterous narrative and because Republicans are lousy at PR.
Republicans fail to stay on message. Instead of telling their own story, Republicans always chase Obama’s narrative of himself and the GOP. Over the past four years, particularly during the 2012 presidential race, Obama was deft at changing the subject from his failures to the gender, race and class wars, Bush, Romney’s taxes, etc.
How does the GOP beat a media maverick like Obama? First, Republicans need to let sequestration happen and force Obama to take responsibility for the mess he’s created. Second, House Speaker Boehner and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell need create a consistent message and tell their team to stick with it!
For example: “This president refuses to get serious about the real issues facing this country and instead wants to play the blame game, passing the buck like he’s not a part of the problem but a bystander to it.”
“The sequester makes no cuts to mandatory or entitlement spending which according to the Congressional Budget Office , are the main drivers of our unsustainable debt for the next 75 years.”
“Since he became president in 2009, Obama has added $6 trillion to our debt, which stands at $16.5 trillion. He has refused to cut government spending even though the Congressional Budget Office warns our debt threatens the country’s future.”
“If unemployment remains above 7.5%, as the Congressional Budget Office projects through 2014, it will be the longest period in 70 years and the sixth straight year under Obama’s presidency the jobless rate has stayed above 7.5%.”
With a lousy record like Obama’s: persistently high unemployment, largest debt since World War II, and a faltering economy, Obama shouldn't have gotten re-elected much less be blaming Republicans for anything. But Obama is better at spinning his version of reality. It’s time for the GOP to step up its game or stay in the corner and get punched.
Is the Republican National Committee just “stupid” as Gov. Bobby Jindal (R-LA) implied last week, or just hell bent on business as usual, ignoring the minority vote til’ the next century? Either way, the same people who insisted Mitt Romney be anointed the GOP 2012 presidential nominee are the same people now in charge of the party’s image makeover and recruiting voters of “color” to the party: Yes, middle aged and old white men. And all signs point to the fact that we’re heading for the same underperforming results unless we change directions fast.
Nearly three months after the election, what we see coming from the RNC is lip service to minority outreach. A Republican source who is familiar with the committee’s inner workings told me there are still no blacks working at the RNC other than in administrative positions and only one Hispanic person working the RNC political department.
Maybe that’s why the outreach plan includes the Martin Luther King Jr. video, the RNC released Jan. 21, King’s holiday and Inauguration day, in which Priebus looked uncomfortable talking about King’s legacy. In the three minute video, Priebus is surrounded by four people, two of which are minorities, who never speak but look like hostages held against their will. Does the RNC like its minorities silent with no voice or influence?
Adding insult to pandering insult, during the RNC’s winter meeting held in Charlotte in January, it approved a resolution to commemorate the achievements of black Republican Frederick Douglass. This is the RNC’s idea of outreach to black voters: a resolution and a video!
Priebus says he wants to spend time doing “extensive research” on why the GOP lost in 2012 and learn ways they can grow the GOP tent beyond white voters. In the press release announcing the initiative, the RNC proclaimed “The Growth and Opportunity Project is co-chaired by five prominent Republican leaders.” But there lies the problem.
Oddly enough, the five people Priebus appointed are part of the GOP establishment; do not bring a fresh perspective. The committee includes: Henry Barbour National Committeeman from Mississippi (nephew of longtime Republican Haley Barbour); Zori Fonalledas, National Committeewoman from Puerto Rico; Glenn McCall, National Committeeman from South Carolina; Sally Bradshaw, Veteran senior strategist in Florida and national politics; Ari Fleischer, Former White House Press Secretary (under George W. Bush, this part was omitted from the press release)
What’s striking about this makeover gang of five is there are only two people of color. How can we seriously have increase our standing with minorities if the committee designed for outreach isn’t majority minority?
It’s doesn’t require a brain surgeon to figure out what the Republican Party needs to do to win. Nor does the RNC need to spend months navel gazing, hosting conference calls and meetings to hear from the same people they’ve been hearing from.
What the RNC needs to do is to start building meaningful relationships with Asians, blacks and Hispanics, take the conservative message outside of its comfort zone of the suburbs into the cities, particularly inner cities. It’s really not hard to do, if you are serious about “growing” and winning.
The RNC needs to take the conservative message to all Americans. We need to ask Senator Kay Bailey Hutchinson (TX) how she got 26 percent of the black vote in 2006. We need to ask Sen. Lamar Alexander (Tenn.) how he won 26 percent of the black vote in 2008 or what Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels’ strategy was to win 20 percent of the black vote in 2008. How about the RNC hosting forums in cities across the country or at colleges, particularly historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs), featuring young, diverse Republicans talking about why they are conservative?
Priebus needs to give a mandate to all state chairmen and committee members to tell their local parties to make it a priority to recruit more minority members to the over 3,000 local Republican chapters. Now is time for the GOP to literally take its message to the street. The party will only get more diverse through grassroots outreach.
Meanwhile, while the RNC is contemplating the next phase of its life, perhaps it should reexamine its rules for membership to the RNC. Currently, each state or territory has a state chairman and a committeeman and committeewoman. As David A. Bositis wrote in “Blacks & the 2012 Republican National Convention, “at least one third of the members of the RNC are women by quota.” But there are no quotas for minorities. I think the RNC should either have quotas for all or quotas for none.
The RNC also needs to do a much better job identifying and supporting minority and women candidates. Not just monetary support but strategic support to help them win.
Ultimately, the GOP won’t begin to shed its “white only image” if it continues to use mostly white spokespeople talking about conservative values. Chanel recently hired Brad Pitt to be appear in its Chanel No. 5 perfume ads because Brad makes anything sexy and Chanel wants more women to buy its perfume.
If the RNC wants more minorities to buy its message, it should use spokespeople who look more like Sarasota Springs, Utah Mayor Mia Love, Senator Kelly Ayotte, Senators Tim Scott, Marco Rubio, and Ted Cruz and less like Ari Fleisher and Henry Barbour. It’s time for RNC make conservatism sexy because “stupid” has got to go.
I get tired of writing about stupid racist comments made by people of so-called fame or political importance. One would think in this day and age, individuals would know better. But my sensibilities are particularly offended when the mainstream media doesn’t apply the same standard of fingering wagging to blacks when they utter racial obscenities, as members of the press do when whites do.
Black Syndicated radio host Tom Joyner of the popular Tom Joyner Morning Show thinks Washington Redskins coach Mike Shanahan is a modern day slave owner. Yes, you heard me correctly. During Joyner’s January 7th broadcast, Joyner expressed displeasure at Shanahan for forcing Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III to continue to play with an injured knee in Sunday’s game against the Seahawks.
Laughing throughout the discussion with his sidekicks, Joyner compared Shanahan to the Mississippi plantation owner Calvin Candy, who Leonardo DiCaprio plays in the movie Django Unchained, directed by Quentin Tarantino. “He’s as bad as the mean white man in Django,” declared Joyner. Mr. Candy is cold-hearted slave owner with a lust for Mandingo fighting, where slaves were forced to fight to the death like dogs or roosters used in animal fighting. “If you saw the movie, just like DiCaprio had the Mandingos fighting in the room. That’s what he did. That’s what he did to RG3,” said Joyner.
Let’s be crystal clear. What Joyner is saying is Shanahan looks at Robert Griffin III (also referred to as RG3) as nothing more than a piece of “black property” he owns and is willing to quite literally “play to his death.” Shanahan has white players. Are they slaves too? One of Joyner’s sidekicks on the program said Shanahan may as well have told RG3, “Keep fighting, negroes!” Joyner laughed and added that by putting RG3 back in the game after his knee injury, Shanahan was saying “you did a good job n--word.”
All I could think about when I heard the audio of Joyner’s comments is how INCENSED the media would be if an equally popular radio host Rush Limbaugh said something similar like “Wow, Robert Griffin III acted like Django the way he tore up that field.” I can assure you the mainstream liberal leaning press would have howled for an apology from Rush, demanded advertisers pull their support from Rush’s show and so on.
Joyner’s racist comments in and of themselves are bad enough but equally as stomach curdling is his erroneous story telling about what transpired during Sunday’s game. According to the Washington Post, team physicians didn’t bar Griffin from playing the Redskins Sunday’s game against the Seahawks, contrary to Joyner’s claim.
After injuring his knee Sunday, Griffin insisted he wanted to continue to play, team doctors okayed it so Shanahan put him back in the game, “I’m not going to take the chance on his career to win a game,” he said. But Joyner didn’t bother to mention these facts in his rant about Shanahan “the slave master.”
When I did an Internet search for Joyner’s comments, the only mention was a tweet by theRootDC. The lack of media outrage at Joyner’s disparaging remarks about Shanahan and MSNBC Political Commentator Toure’s Romney “n-ggerization of Obama” comments last year suggests because of slavery and civil rights injustices wrought against black Americans, blacks get a bigotry pass.
I wonder what Tom Joyner would say if Mike Shanahan joked “When Joyner told blacks they should re-elect Obama because he’s black, Joyner reminded me of Mr. Candie’s dutiful head slave Stephen in the movie Django.” Seems to me we, including the media, should apply the same standards of decency to all Americans regardless of race. What’s good for the goose should be good for the gander.
Young Black men are killing each other every day and the problem is particularly acute in urban cities like Chicago from which President Barack Obama hails. Yet, I haven’t seen Obama or the mainstream media shed a tear over the fact more than 50% of America’s murder victims are black and nearly all (85%) of those blacks killed are young men.
Nor do we see media or presidential outrage or calls for more rigid gun control laws when young black kids are heinously murdered like we do when the victims are mostly white. Neither words nor God can explain the horrific mass slayings that occurred at Sandy Hook Elementary, Columbine, Virginia Tech University, Aurora and those to come in our future.
But why don’t we hear the same pain or calls for tougher gun laws from the mainstream press when Trayvon Martin was killed? Instead, the media immediately turned it into a racially motivated killing of a black boy by a white man yet showed no horror over the alarming rate of young black men who are both perpetrators and victims of homicides.
The homicide rate among blacks is beyond epidemic. From 1999--2002, among persons aged 10--19 years, the homicide rate for blacks was 10 times that of whites, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. It gets worse; as of 2007, “black males age 15-34 were at the greatest risk of death by homicide.” Blacks seem to do a good job of consistently holding the highest homicide rates of any race in America. Where’s the societal outrage over the reality that 55% of all federal prisoners are black though blacks only account for 12%- 12% of the population, as Shelby Steele noted.
The double standard the mainstream media shows toward its coverage of black vs. white homicides is beyond dishonest. When black Kansas City Chiefs football player Javon Belcher shot his wife Kassandra Perkins and then killed himself with the same gun, I don’t remember the news media calling for tougher gun laws. Why? Is it okay for blacks to kill?
At the Sandy Hook prayer vigil, Obama declared the nation isn’t “doing enough” to combat tragedies like Adam Lanza’s killing of 20 children and seven adults. He added “We can’t tolerate this anymore. These tragedies must end.” Two things bothered me when I read the president’s remarks. First, America has never tolerated madmen or any man or woman killing innocent people. Never!
But secondly and equally as important, why haven’t we heard President Obama give a prayer vigil in cities like New York, Chicago, Philadelphia and Baton Rouge where blacks are butchering each other with guns? In 2010, black males age 15-29 accounted for 3% of New York City’s population but 33% of its murder victims. When 7-year-old Heaven Sutton was killed June 27, 2012 by gang gunfire in Chicago, Mayor Rahm Emanuel pledged to do something about the city’s high murder rate. I’ve never heard Obama describe these killings of blacks as “an endless series of deadly shootings across the country, almost daily reports of victims, many of them children . . .their only fault was being in the wrong place at the wrong time,” as he described the poor souls of Sandy Hook.
What the media and the president seem to be saying is when black kids die, it’s not a gun control thing but a national disgrace we’ve come to accept as normal but when mostly white people are killed is reprehensible. Both are reprehensible and ending the cycle of violence has nothing to do with more gun laws. Homicides committed by young black men and white men like Adam Lanza have everything to do with a lack of parenting, personal responsibility and/or society’s mishandling of mental illness.
More young black men are becoming murderers because more young black men are increasingly becoming casualties of fatherless homes. According to the Brookings Institute, 73% of all black babies in America are born to single mothers compared to 30% of white babies, 50% of Hispanics and 40% of all kids overall.
Brookings found “more than 36% of the unmarried fathers had a prison record, five times the share of married fathers who ever spent time in prison.” The study also found that boys born to unwed mothers experience more behavioral problems, such as engaging in crime, than girls.
When you don’t have a mom and dad caring for you, asking you if you did your homework or teaching you right from wrong, is it any wonder, young black men are becoming murderers? A lack of parenting also is to blame for Adam Lanza’s killing rampage at Sandy Hook Elementary School and others like Columbine and Virginia Tech.
News reports haven’t been able to confirm whether Adam Lanza’s mother and father ever sought treatment for his son’s mental illness. Nancy Lanza told babysitters never to leave Adam alone. But more importantly, Lanza’s mother was an irresponsible gun owner. Knowing her son was mentally disturbed, Nancy kept guns unsecured in her home, easily accessible to her sick child, which was utterly negligent.
We didn’t see these kinds of horrific shootings 40 years ago nor did we have the high rate of black men murdering each other. I think that’s because we had stronger families, lower divorce rates and virtually no outsourcing of parenting to video games and the Internet.
The rise in young male murderers isn’t about a need for more gun laws. Connecticut has some of the strictest gun laws in the nation, which didn’t stop Adam Lanza. Parents need to parent. Society needs to bring back shame in our culture and tell teenagers it’s not cool to have a baby. America also needs to do a better job of treating mental illness like a disease not a stigma. We can have a conversation about gun laws but Sandy Hook is about the skeletons in our culture we refuse to talk about.
Republicans need to stand for something and start defending conservatism not apologizing for it. Whether we’re talking about economic or individual prosperity, conservative policies work. When Presidents Reagan and Clinton cut taxes, government revenues increased and economies boomed. When babies are born to married couples, their chances of succeeding in life grow exponentially as opposed to falling into a life of poverty and crime, if they are born to single moms.
As Mitt Romney remarked in his NAACP speech, a Brookings Institution study found kids “who graduate from high school, get a full-time job, and wait until 21 before they marry and then have their first child, the probability of being poor is two percent. And if those factors are absent, the probability of being poor is 76 percent.”
When parents are given choices to escape failing public schools with programs like vouchers, their kids’ chances of finishing high school and going to college increases. The Republican Party supports policies that promote an opportunity society versus a government dependent society. Living off welfare and food stamps won’t buy you a home in the suburbs or send your kids to college. Yet Democrats make their pursuit of an ever-growing role of government in our lives sound chic, fulfilling and something to aspire toward.
Congressional Republicans have allowed Democrats and President Barack Obama to use the fiscal cliff battle to paint Republicans as the party of bad while falsely positioning Democrats as the party of good. There’s nothing good about a person or nation living beyond his or her means and that’s what Democrat policies persistently pursue.
As expected, Republicans have lost control of the narrative just like Mitt Romney did during the election because the party won’t stand on terra firma and defend its principles. America doesn’t have a taxing problem we have a spending problem and are living in debt denial. Republicans need to remind Americans that our nation is marching down the path of Greece and Spain both with a 25% unemployment rate unless we reign in our spending.
According to the Congressional Budget Office (CBO), entitlement programs of Medicare, Social Security and Medicaid are nearly solely responsible for blowing up our deficits in the next 75 years. This is why we need bold entitlement and spending reform and tax reform of the kind Rep. Paul Ryan proposed in his budget plan, The Path to Prosperity. As Bob Woodward’s The Price of Politics notes, CBO confirmed Ryan’s budget would cut $4.4 trillion from the deficit over ten years.
Thanks to Obama’s penchant for spending on his favorite things like the failed stimulus, Obamacare, and Dodd-Frank, the president has taken the debt from $10 trillion in 2009 to over $16 trillion in four years. President George W. Bush spent that in eight years. As Senator Rob Portman noted in a recent Wall Street Journal editorial, our “national debt now tops $130,000 a person” and allowing the $800 trillion in Bush tax cuts to expire for higher earners only pays for “nine days of spending.”
Why aren’t House Speaker John Boehner, Majority Leader Eric Cantor and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell getting their people in line and hammering away at these facts?
Why isn’t the GOP reminding Americans that the $3.2 trillion in Bush tax cuts Obama wants to protect for 98% of Americans “was proposed and put into law largely by Republicans.” So if Obama admits we can’t afford to hit the middle class with tax cuts then it wouldn’t be good to hit 2% with $800 trillion in tax cuts either because this group includes small business owners, who create jobs and put money back into the economy.
Moreover, why isn’t the GOP reminding Americans as Portman wrote only 4% of the $12 trillion of in deficits accumulated from 2002-2011 was due to tax hikes on the rich or that Obama’s $3 trillion budget increases spending by $1 trillion over ten years. Curiously, Obama’s relentless quest to make higher earners pay more in taxes would only pay 7% ($80 billion a year) of Obama's $1 trillion yearly deficits.
Why aren’t Republicans reminding Americans Obama's budgets are so out of control they never passed Congress? Obama’s cliff bargain of $1.6 trillion in tax hikes on the rich is the same cost of “the three entitlement programs in 2012,” (p. 379, The Price of Politics) but Obama refuses any reforms to entitlements or cuts in government spending. In ten years Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security will cost $3 trillion.
“The single biggest threat to the future of this country—there’s nothing even close—is the unsustainable path we’re on, driven by excessive generosity beyond our ability to pay . . .on very popular programs,” said McConnell, (p.364, The Price of Politics). Why aren’t Republicans telling the American people this story?
If Republicans cave into Obama’s demands to punish higher earners with tax hikes while all other earners enjoy the lower Bush tax cuts, the GOP will lose all credibility with the American people. Looking to the 2014 mid-term elections and the 2016 presidential election, Democrats will campaign against untrustworthy Republicans. “They said they were for lower taxes and raised taxes. Their presidential nominee Mitt Romney changed his positions like the wind to suit the political climate. What does the Republican Party really stand for?”
It’s time for Republicans to stand, deliver and let Obama face his own cliffhanger. America has a spending problem, not a taxing one. Do or die. The moment is now!
President Obama is so wrapped up in being Obama, he can’t see that not having a plan for the next for years is a problem when you’re running for re-election. During the final debate on foreign policy, Obama oozed with revisionist history of his record and added a theatrical element to his delivery, glaring at hole through Romney. Meant to be intimidating I’m sure, Romney responded to Obama’s stares and interruptions with calm and confidence, leaving Romney looking like the only adult in the room, as someone commented to me.
Romney described the debate and Obama’s re-election campaign well: “Attacking me is not an agenda.” Throughout the 90 minutes, Obama resorted to his worn out, false attacks on Romney: tax cuts for the rich, Bain Capital shipping jobs to China and so on and so on.
When Romney cautioned the Navy is the smallest since 1917, Obama mocked Romney like a bullying teenager. “We also have fewer horses and bayonets, than in 1916 said Obama, so the question isn’t a game of battleship, it’s what are our capabilities.” Uhmm, for the past four years, Obama seems to have been handling foreign policy like it’s a game, without focus. Who sunk America’s foreign policy?
If anyone looked like he had a “reckless” foreign policy that was “all over the map,” it was President Obama. As Romney pointed out time and time during the debate, America isn’t safer under Obama’s presidency. “We can’t kill our way out of this mess,” referring to the killing of Osama bin Laden, which Obama seems to think defines a foreign policy strategy.
One of Romney’s strongest moments was his exchange with Obama over Israel and the threat of a nuclear Iran. Obama declared the relationship between America and Israel has never been stronger and Israel is our greatest ally in the region. I’m sure this was news to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who all but pleaded with Obama to take a stand against Iran’s nuclear ambitions with the threat of military action yet Obama refuses.
In scathing clarity, Romney pointed out not only is Iran four years closer to building a nuclear weapon, Obama has never visited Israel. “You went to middle East, flew to Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Turkey Iraq and you skipped Israel and they noticed you skipped Israel.” Romney added that the relationship with Israel is so strained that 38 Democrat Senators sent Obama a letter telling him he needs to repair tensions with our greatest ally in the Middle East.
From the beginning of his presidency, Romney noted Obama said “he would meet with the world’s worst actors Chavez, Ahmadinejad, and Kim Jong Il,” and couldn’t wait to give a speech to the Muslim world in Egypt, apologizing for America.
What would Romney do differently? He would go after the bad guys, as he said, but also show American leadership abroad with a comprehensive strategy that doesn’t abdicate decision making to the United Nations, particularly Russia and China. Among other things, Romney would stand with Israel and tighten sanctions on Iran and demonstrate unequivocally there will be consequences if Iran doesn’t end its nuclear ambitions.
After two years of witnessing President Assad butcher 30,000 Syrians and take no action, Obama declared in the debate “Syria must determine its own future” and said he was “confident Assad’s days are numbered.” Romney, on the other hand, called the crisis “a humanitarian disaster” and said while he doesn’t want to engage America in another war, we have to “take leadership.” If elected president, Romney said he would work with our allies and arm the insurgents to topple Assad because Syria is the only partner Iran has in the region and is arming Assad to gain strategic control in the Middle East.
In the face of his failed record, Obama retreated back to domestic policy and talked about the critical importance of “nation building here at home.” Of course this is code for more spending. I thought the $800 billion stimulus was supposed to build up our nation again. He like Romney pointed out America can’t be strong abroad if it’s fiscal house isn’t in order but in contrast to Romney’s plan to create 12 million jobs, Obama offered no plan.
Instead Obama sang the same tune, declaring America can reduce its deficit by asking the wealthy to pay more to fund more investments at home. Raising taxes and continuing to spend while making no cuts to government won’t reduce our $16 trillion debt.
Obama also said he wants “to hire more teachers in math and science.” Taking this all in like the older, wiser uncle, Romney simply responded, “we have to grow the economy and it’s not going to happen by just hiring teachers.” Or rather creating more union jobs. As he did successfully in the two previous debates, Romney reminded voters again of the obvious, Obama’s plan “hasn’t worked.”
Closing out the ball game, Romney ended with this. “I'm going to make sure that we get people off of food stamps, not by cutting the program, but by getting them good jobs,” he said. Romney promised to take responsibility as president and “work with” Americans “to get the country back. “
In Contrast, Obama closed with more of the same, government spending and debt but curiously added “I always listen to your voices.” This is ironic thing to say because Obama never listened to the American people. In 2009, Americans wanted jobs but Obama gave us what he wanted Obamacare.
The problem with Obama is his narcissism gets in the way of him doing his job. The “rise of the oceans didn’t slow and our planet didn’t begin to heal,” as Obama arrogantly predicted his election would produce in his victory speech. A fiscally conservative Democrat told me the day after the debate Obama blew a great opportunity being elected the first black President. After so much ego over the past four years, America needs humility of leadership. America needs Mitt Romney.
I’ll huff and I’ll puff till I blow your house in! Like the big bad wolf in the fairy tale The Three Little Pigs, Vice President Joe Biden thought he’d huff all over Representative Paul Ryan in the only vice-presidential debate. But between Biden’s snickers, interruptions, and finger pointing at Ryan, Biden demonstrated why President Obama’s agenda is “not working.”
Maintaining a cool demeanor, filled with smiles throughout, Ryan kicked off the debate by assailing Obama’s handling of the terror attack in Libya. From then on, Ryan put mad Joe on the defensive, hitting him with fact after fact how Obama and his skipper Biden have failed America at home and abroad.
ABC News moderator Martha Raddatz’s first question, “Wasn’t [Libya] a massive intelligence failure?” To which Biden spewed the same talking points White House spokesperson Jay Carney regurgitated in a briefing a day earlier. Even though the day before the debate, State Department officials testified before Congress the attack that killed four diplomats was planned, Biden stood by the administration’s initial claim they thought it was a protest.
Instead of answering the Libya question, Biden drifted into Obama’s “resume” on foreign policy Osama bin Laden is dead, Iraq, Afghanistan, etc. When the question turned to Ryan, he launched into a punishing narrative on Obama’s mishandling of the Libya attack. Ryan said the president jumped the gun, badly. Not only did America’s United Nations Ambassador Susan Rice first blame the Benghazi attack on a protest and the YouTube anti-Muslim video, he said, but “it took president two weeks to call this a terrorist attack and he mentioned the YouTube video six times in his UN speech.”
Ryan said Romney and he would “call it for what it is a terror attack.” “First, they blame the YouTube video,” Ryan said of the Obama administration. “Now they’re trying to blame the Romney Ryan ticket for making this an issue,” he added.
In a final indictment of Obama’s record abroad, Ryan pointedly said: “What we are watching on our TV screens is the unraveling of the Obama foreign policy, which is making the world chaotic and us less safe.”
Raddatz then grilled Ryan about the appropriateness of Mitt Romney issuing a statement condemning the administration’s initial response to the Cairo protest, which the US embassy also blamed on the video then “disavowed” the claim.
In response to other questions on foreign policy, Ryan reminded us Obama stood on the sidelines while Iran rigged its 2009 elections, President Assad butchered Syrians and the US gave Russia veto power to allow the carnage. When Biden interrupted, asking Ryan what he would do differently, Ryan calmly replied, “We wouldn’t be outsourcing our foreign policy to the United Nations.”
A bellicose Biden then stupidly told Ryan “Russia has a different interest in Syria than we do.” Correct, Russia is arming Assad and allowing him to continue his reign of terror and, as Ryan added, Romney wouldn’t have waited for Russia to give the “green light” before acting.
After Ryan’s salvos, Biden’s huffing and puffing ensued, peppered with incessant interruptions of Ryan. Biden accused Ryan of “spouting a bunch of malarkey” because “not a single thing he said was accurate.” It took only seven minutes into the debate for Biden to call Ryan a liar. When asked to be specific, Biden said the media panned Romney’s statement on Cairo. Sorry Joe, that doesn’t mean it’s not credible just because the liberal media said it wasn’t cool.
When questioned further about security at the Benghazi consulate, Biden said, “we weren’t told [diplomats] wanted more security.” This is not true because Ambassador Christopher Stevens expressed concerns over security and State Department and military officials testified before Congress to that effect.
ABC News moderator Martha Raddatz came to Biden’s defense throughout, allowing Biden to continually interrupt Ryan with fits of frustration and asides like a fool in one of Shakespeare’s comedies. Every time Ryan pointed out Obama’s failures over the last four years, Raddatz would interrupt him, asking, “What would you do differently.” She never asked Biden that.
On Iran, Biden said Obama has done everything he said was going do, including forcing Russia and China to put pressure on Iran. And this has worked how? Ryan said when Obama was elected Iran had enough material to make one bomb now they have enough to make five. The UN issued sanctions against Iran only after Russia watered them down, said Ryan.
Biden said the sanctions have been crippling to Iran. But they haven’t deterred Iran from pursuing it nuclear ambitions. Smiling, Ryan said the only thing Ayatollahs see is Obama putting distance between Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and going on a talk show in New York City instead of meeting with our ally Israel.
Responding to what Romney would do differently, Ryan said they would demonstrate credibility to Iran that America means what it says. Laughing out loud, Biden got angrier and more condescending as Ryan methodically deconstructed Obama’s failures on foreign policy.
On domestic policy, Biden said he “didn’t know how long it would take to get unemployment” under 6% and continued to push the same failed strategies of spending, Obama has pursued for four years. Biden invoked Bush blame, Romney tax cuts for the rich, and fair share talk – Obama’s Robin Hood policies of taking from the wealthy to pay for middle class prosperity.
When Biden said Republicans should take responsibility, Ryan blasted Biden for life under Obama, chronic high unemployment, and lifeless economic growth. He outlined Romney’s plan to create 12 million jobs and getting people off government dependency into the working class. Answering Biden’s dig at Romney’s 47% remark, Ryan joked “with respect to that quote, I think the vice president very well knows that sometimes the words don’t come out of your mouth the right way.” A reference to Biden’s many gaffes.
On Medicare and Social Security, Biden said even in the face of these entitlement programs facing bankruptcy within the next 5-10 years, Obama refused make any substantive changes. Ryan talked about a Medicare reform plan where younger people could take advantage of premium support that increases coverage for sicker and poorer folks, which current members of Congress and federal workers use for their healthcare. Biden tried to make the word “change” evil as Ryan talked about Romney’s plan to change Social Security and Medicare in order to save both from bankruptcy.
On taxes, Biden repeated Obama’s calls for the rich to pay more in taxes while Obama continues his binge spending. As Biden huffed, Ryan pointed out, reminded him the Obama could impose a 100% tax on businesses making over $250,000 and only keep government running for 98 days. Though Biden repeatedly referred to Ryan “as his friend,” Biden treated Ryan more like an enemy combatant rather than a competitor. Begging for equal time and sneering was Biden’s debate strategy. This was not becoming behavior for a Vice President of the United States but this is what a person does when they are losing the debate. Wow, after five years of his loyal constituents supporting him and receiving nothing in return, it was nice to see President Obama address this year’s all black male Morehouse College graduates. Obama even found his black vernacular as he always does before a black crowd, saying “I know some of you are just graduating, thank you Lordy.” As if all black people walk, talk, and think alike. Sickening and offensive.
