We will preserve for our children this, the last best hope of man on earth, or we will sentence them to take the first step into a thousand years of darkness. Jeannie DeAngelis - Questioning Michele Bachmann's Foster Parent Claims

Originally posted at American Thinker
In order to understand liberalism, all one needs to do is take note of what the left applauds versus what they attack. Case in point: Minnesota Congresswoman Michele Bachmann -- wife, mother to five biological children, and foster mother to 23 teenagers -- has now become the focal point of left-wing attacks as they prepare to diminish her stature by attacking her family.

Michele gave a stellar performance at the Republican debate. It was in that forum that she announced her decision to "seek the office of the presidency of the United States of America." The only woman on the platform, Michele voiced strong convictions, attacked government regulation, called the Dodd-Frank Wall Street reform bill "over-the-top," and promised if elected to repeal ObamaCare. Michele praised the Tea Party and described it as a "wide swath of America coming together...to take the country back."

Yet, despite articulating strong opinions on varied subjects, Michele's gutsy and possibly prophetic proclamation that Barack Obama is a "one-term" president wasn't nearly as courageous as a pro-life statement she made with unabashed personal conviction and commitment to truth.

What could be worse for pro-choice America than a woman with a brood of children, smiling and firmly proclaiming without obfuscation, wavering, or uncertainty the following belief: "I am 100 percent pro-life. I've given birth to five babies, and I've taken 23 foster children into my home. I believe in the dignity of life from conception until natural death. I believe in the sanctity of human life."

Michele Bachmann bore five biological children and didn't stop there -- she and husband Marcus welcomed into their home the at-risk offspring of other mothers who also chose to grant their babies the gift of life. Not only that, but the Minnesota congresswoman also shared her commitment to the "dignity of life from conception until natural death," which is a view that -- especially on the cusp of ObamaCare, the costs of which are sure to run over budget -- is not only ill-timed, but most assuredly unappreciated.

Moreover, Bachmann openly proclaimed as "sacred" and "holy" something which, after almost 40 years of unrelenting indoctrination, many Americans have now come to accept as a clump of cells -- another statement sure to be considered unconscionable in pro-choice circles.

Michele placed a target squarely on her own back when she dared to tie the right to life to the Declaration of Independence, demoted government from bestowing "inalienable" rights, mentioned the Creator, and emphatically declared "only God can give [life] and only God" should take it away.

In conclusion, Mrs. Bachmann even managed to inject sanity into the conversation when she noted that 2% of rape/incest abortions "get all the attention" while 98% of convenience-based abortion is "where the real battle" lies in the fight against the unfettered slaughter of the unborn.

As it turned out, the Republican debate provided a public forum for a conservative woman to school enlightened society on what many believe to be the reproductive attitudes of a troglodyte. If Mrs. Bachmann continues to voice such extreme opinions, she will fast become as distasteful to liberals as Sarah Palin, the pro-life mother of a Down syndrome son, whose presence and principles -- especially when toting around what the world deems less-than-perfect offspring -- have made her an object of unrelenting mockery.

For years, Palin has struggled against cruel rumors that Trig, her special needs baby, isn't her and husband Todd's son, but rather daughter Bristol's.

Taking a page from the Demean the Maternal Claims of Pro-Life Women playbook, Michele Bachmann's motherliness is also now being called into question by those who wish to undermine her foster parenting claim, saying, "She makes it sound like she got them at birth and raised them to adulthood, but that's not true."

Following the debate at the Republican Leadership Conference, a CBS News reporter broached the foster parent subject with Michele in what appeared to be an effort to coax the Minnesota congresswoman, who claims she "raised" 23 foster children, into admitting she hosted most of the kids for a limited amount of time.

Those who accept "the right to privacy" as the right to destroy innocent life suddenly have become sticklers on the proper definition of the word "raised."

Although Michele Bachmann has never once implied that she cared for 23 children simultaneously, with grace and poise the congresswoman responded to the inquiry in the following way:
Well in the situation we were in we took children as teenagers. Their family was facing a challenge and they weren't gonna be able to be at home with their parents and we took them in as teenagers and our job was to see that they graduated from high school and were successfully launched into the world.
Challenged further for precise time frames, Michele, who said she considered having each and every child in her home a "privilege," calmly expanded her clarification:
It really varied depending on the children and we've never got into specifics about the children because we always wanted to observe their privacy and that of their families, as I'm sure you can appreciate.
It seems that when pro-life women promote motherhood, those who defend abortion as a "privacy" issue feel more than justified in prying into their personal lives if doing so provides a solid platform upon which to falsely portray a female conservative Christian politician as a fraud.

It's almost certain that Michele Bachmann's parenting experience wouldn't be a topic of discussion if instead of "raising" unwanted children, she shared the opinion that women "facing challenges" would be better off exercising their right to choose in an abortion clinic.

And so, the debate over whether Michele Bachmann raised or did not raise foster children proves once again that liberalism exposes its dark underbelly not so much by what it applauds as by what and whom it attempts to tear down.

Anne from PA - What Matters Most

1. "... reminders from so-called "mainstream media" outlets that the Clinton-era political axiom "It's the economy, stupid" is all that matters."

ONLY a liberal would be so arrogant and condescending as to infer that "We The American People" are "stupid." That should have been more than enough to put people on notice as to how the liberal mind works, and how much disdain liberals hold for the American people.

2. “He [Obama] and his very liberal cronies know that today's hot-button issues -- government health insurance mandates, bailouts, buyouts, stimulus debt, unemployment above 9.5 percent and plans to raise taxes on small businesses -- are all likely to diminish in importance as the U.S. economy slowly and inevitably improves.”

Barack Obama has shown even more disdain and contempt for the American people as he strips us of our inalienable rights and liberties, and our beloved Constitution as he shreds and stomps on it daily.

3. The “U.S. economy slowly and inevitably improves?”

Barack Obama’s recovery plan is FDR’s “New Deal” on steroids. Just like FDR, Obama has:
  • increased government debt
  • bailed out a number of banks & businesses
  • launched massive, public works projects
  • unemployment now stands at 9+% (Note: if including those who are no longer tracked, the true unemployment rate is approx. 18%)
  • (plans to) raise taxes
Thanks to FDR’s “New Deal” the depression lasted from 1933 to 1940. Who knows how long it will take America to recover from “Barack Obama’s ‘New Deal’ on steroids.”

4. “Every American commander in chief should know who our allies and enemies are, ought to be able to define victory in war, and must be willing to protect our borders. Barack Obama has proved himself unable or unwilling to do any of those.”

Unfortunately, we have a president who is unwilling to call those who have already attacked us (multiple times) and who have repeatedly and emphatically stated, they intend to “Wipe America off the face of the earth,” and “death to America” the “enemy.”

Yet Barack Obama has no problem calling Republicans “the enemy,” and will punish them.

Not to mention that Barack Obama has said that Republicans will have to go to the back of the bus. Nice touch!

While Obama, Reid, and Pelosi (and the liberal ilk) have made a shambles of our economy in less than two years, we need to keep foremost in front of our minds is that our first priority absolutely needs to be our sworn enemies… Islam!

Unless we have a president who will take his or her oath of office seriously, and will protect the United States of America from its enemies, the economy won’t matter as much as a hill of beans.

Hardnox from VA - Do Your Duty - Vote November 2nd 2010

What is at stake on November 2nd

I keep noticing that folks keep exchanging the label Socialism and Communism as if they interchangeable.  They are quite different.
  1. Socialism is when the state decides to provide the people with all kinds of “freebies” paid for by the people that work for a living, all for the common good.
  2. Communism is when the state decides what the people will do for a living… and the people will have to like it, all for the common good.
We are all on a ride to Communism in the express lane.  Make no mistake about it.

Need proof?  Look what the government has done or has control of in just in 20 short months:
  • The government take-over of GM and Chrysler.
  • The government take-over of the entire health-care industry (1/6th of our economy).
  • The government take-over of all student loans which has already resulted in higher tuition.
  • The government take-over of the mortgage lending industry.
  • The government take-over of Banking Industry.
  • The Department of Transportation has declared that the primary focus of transportation will be towards bicycles.  What about people living in the suburbs?  Forced relocation, maybe?
  • The Department of Homeland Security has declared those of us that take opposing views of the government as people that need to be watched, specifically folks that are Pro-Life, ex-military, pro-Second Amendment and the like.
  • The talking-heads in the alphabet-media have brandished the term “sedition” to anyone that offers an opposing view.  It seems that “freedom of speech” is allowed only for those exclusively on the left.
  • In addition, we’ve been labeled Racists, Fascists, Nazis, Tea-Baggers (whatever that is), and Astro-Turfers too.  Evidently, opposing views are for those only on the left.  Also, YouTube videos that have a opposing views mysteriously disappear.
  • The Department of Health has declared a “war on fat”, so they will be telling us what to eat soon
  • The Department of Agriculture has a “Fields to Forest” program whereas farmers are encouraged to convert farmland to forests to help the environment.  We already import most of our food even though we have the most productive farmers and farmland in the world.
  • The Department of Justice has filed suit against the state of Arizona in response to Arizona’s new immigration law that actually is a watered-down copy of federal law but with specific anti-racial-profiling language.  Good plan, just provoke anti-Hispanic tensions for political gain instead of securing our borders which is actually the federal government’s job.
  •  Obama has changed NASA’s core mission from space exploration to now reaching out to Muslims because of their contribution to science.  The Muslim contribution to modern science is non-existent.
  • $800 billion “Stimulus package” for non-existent shovel-ready projects that don’t exist.  Most of the funds have been diverted to the upside-down Union pension plans in a scheme that results in Unions donating “our money” to the campaign coffers of democrats.
  • Wall Street is almost there.
  • They already own Public Education.  Students are getting more ignorant each passing year.
Here is what is next:
  •  Immigration Reform (aka Amnesty) is on the front burner, thereby insuring millions of illegal aliens become new Democratic voters.
  •  Cap & Trade is also on the burner, the results will be devastating to our economy.  Energy costs will skyrocket all the while the Eco-nuts have blocked any and all expansion of standard and alternative energy measures through the courts.
  • Card-Check is in the wings.  This is when it will be mandatory to Unionize all industries.
Does this even sound like the United States of America?

Many more can be added.  It is mind-numbing.  The left has been plotting and dreaming of this moment for the last 100 years.

Pundits claim that this may be the most pivotal and important election in American history.  It is, make no mistake about it.  If the democrats retain power then they will most certainly hit the accelerator.

So what have you done to foster Conservative principles?  Have you engaged your fellow Americans in meaningful conversations, supported a protest rally, or do you just sit at home reading columns like this?

Obama promised to fundamentally change America and he is unless we stop him and his minions.  It’s still not too late.

Now is the time to rally any and all allies in this fight.  The future of this country depends on it.

Do your duty.  Stand up.  Vote on November 2nd.`

Importance of 2010 Mid-Term Election

Can we take back America from this 'Marxist Dictator' wannabe Barack Obama and his Hate America worshipers and 'Cult of Personality' followers - "Yes We Can"!

REMEMBER, the House of Representatives CONTROL all Spending.

The 2010 midterm election will be held on Tuesday, November 2 with all House seats coming up for election.

There hasn't been more than a 60+ seat swing in a midterm election in eighty years and usually only three factors are considered:
1) Poor economy and high unemployment.
2) Overextended party or both House and Senate controlled by one party.
3) Controversial agenda.

Where any two of these factors were present (last 80 years) - 50 lost seats were the average.

Barack Obama has introduced 6 New Factors into the mix for the 2010 mid term elections.

4) Blacks will have 'Special Rights and Protections' for intimidating non-black voters.
5) Millions of Illegal Aliens will be given amnesty and 'Free or Subsidized' ObamaCare.
6) A virtual tsunami of 'New Obama Taxes' will be released on the American Taxpayers.
7) Total malfeasance on handling the 'Worst' Ecological disaster in History.
8) Worst debt in the History of Mankind 'Dumped' on American Citizens.
9) Blatant Government attack on any State, City or local municipality trying to stop onslaught of Illegal Immigrants.

In the 2010 election, all three factors are present and six NEW factors make the projections of anywhere from 50 lost seats, to 100+ lost seats in the United States House of Representatives.

United States House of Representatives Current Democrat Majority Status (255):

* 255 Democrats with a loss of 100 = 155 or 35% control.
* 255 Democrats with a loss of 83 = 172 or 40% control.
* 255 Democrats with a loss of 50 = 205 or 47% control.
* 255 Democrats with a loss of 40 = 215 or 49% control.

United States House of Representatives Current Republican Minority Status (178):
* 178 Republicans with a win of 100 = 278 or 64% control.
* 178 Republicans with a win of 83 = 261 or 60% control.
* 178 Republicans with a win of 50 = 228 or 52% control.
* 178 Republicans with a win of 40 = 218 or 50% control.

NOTE: percentages are rounded.

Almost all polls are indicating the Conservative base is more 'Energized' than the Liberal base and Conservatives outnumber Liberals 2 to 1.

Almost all polls are indicating that Barack Obama and Democrats are losing Independents and Moderate Democrats almost daily, because of the aforementioned factors.

2010 will be the most important Election in American History - VOTE.
