Anne from PA - 63 Reasons Rick Perry Should be President

Great debaters and smooth talkers don't guarantee they'll make great Presidents or be great leaders. Just look at Obama! The Next Generation of Americans value substance over style, and a track record of results, not clever slogans, vacuous semantics or abilities to turn a phrase. Perry has the most comprehensive approach to America's National Security. Rick Perry is the only trustworthy candidate with the detailed plan to fix the American Economy and the track record to prove it.

Rick Perry on showdown in Palmetto State

“What Americans are looking for is someone who can get this country working again. And we put the model in place in the state of Texas. When you look at what we have done over the last decade, we created 1 million jobs in the state of Texas -- same time America lost 2.5 million. So I will suggest to you that Americans are focused on the right issue, and that is who on this stage can get America working, because we know for a fact that the resident of the White House cannot.”

Rampant Voter Fraud in the 2008 Presidential Election

College Student Finds Potential Election Fraud in 2008 Presidential Primary

Family Research Council Senior Fellow for Family Empowerment Ken Blackwell and Yale University student Ryan Nees on the possible election fraud in Indiana in the 2008 election.

We have already seen the Barack Obama Administration 'Refuse' to prosecute the New Black Panthers for voter intimidation in Philadelphia, PA and now that Barack Obama is in charge of ALL federal Agencies that investigate Voter Fraud - will there be 'Massive Voter Fraud' in 2012?

Liberals Speak Out - We are Americans, not angry liberals.

As Americans, we expect certain liberties and rights that were defined by by our forefathers in documents like the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence.

"We the people" expect that these fundamental rights will always be protected. However, in the current Democratic Presidential Primary, this has not been the case.

We believe The Democratic National Committee (DNC) made a grave error by depriving American voters of their choice of Hillary Clinton as Democratic nominee.

Senator Clinton, by all accounts, except caucuses, won the Primary Election and, therefore, should have been the 2008 Democratic Nominee.

That didn't happen, due largely to illegitimate and illegal acts. We have interviews of many accounts from caucus states recounting threats, intimidation, lies, stolen documents, falsified documents, busing in voters in exchange for paying for "dinners," etc.

There are at least 2000 complaints, in Texas alone, of irregularities directed towards the Obama Campaign, that have lead to a very fractured and broken Democratic Party.

Rick Perry - Hard Truths Behind Today's Job Numbers (1/6/2012)

New jobs and unemployment figures came out today, which on their face depict an economy that looks better than many pessimists had anticipated. Understandably, they are being greeted as welcome news from a public desperate for job growth and economic recovery, and an end to the hardship, pain and misery that so many Americans have experienced over the last few years.

But while I am all for good news, a couple of hard truths must be told as these numbers are scrutinized today.

First, the U.S. workforce is not nearly the same size as it was when President Obama took office, let alone this time five years ago. According to AEI's James Pethokoukis, "If the size of the U.S. labor force was as large as it was when Barack Obama took office, the unemployment rate would be 10.9 percent. But since so many people have gotten discouraged and stopped looking for work– and thus disappeared by government statisticians — the jobless number has been artificially depressed. A better gauge of the jobs picture is the broader U-6 rate, which includes part-timers who would rather have full-time jobs. It stands at a whopping 15.2 percent."

As Pethokoukis notes in his post, pointing to data highlighted by Hamilton Place Strategies, further scrutiny of other numbers, like labor force participation, results in an even less rosy picture: "Labor force participation averaged 66 percent through most of the 2000s. It now stands at 64 percent after declining again last month. If more people were still looking for jobs, and the participation rate were back up at 66 percent, the unemployment rate would now be 11.4 percent instead of 8.6 percent."

Second, according to Betsey Stevenson, a former Chief Economist at Obama's own Department of Labor, people with education at or below the high school level are still losing jobs, while the only job growth that we are seeing is among better-educated workers. Earlier today, she tweeted, "All the gain in empt in this report was for those w/ educ--loss of 204K jobs for high school & below, gain of 301K for some college & above." This should be a real concern, moving forward.

The big truth here is that we need to do better, and we’ve needed to be doing better, for a long time now. It will not surprise me if the Obama Administration and his political advisers start trumpeting these numbers as proof that their policies have worked to get the country out of the mess that bad policy created and exacerbated. But the truth is, they could and should have pursued a different economic approach that would have gotten the economy moving much faster, and created more jobs for all kinds of workers faster. They had an example in my state, Texas.

In Texas, we have consistently followed a few basic, common sense principles where economic policy is concerned. First, don’t spend all the money. Second, keep taxes low. Third, keep regulations in check. On my watch, the state has seen the addition of one million net new jobs, while the rest of the country lost two million. These jobs cut across industries, too: Some were in the energy field (oil and gas, but also wind power), some were in the tech sector (as anyone who has visited Austin recently could guess), some have been in the service sector, and so on. We’ve created jobs for high-skilled workers, unskilled workers and everyone in between.

We have also gotten more people into the labor force, while the country as a whole has seen a decline. From November 2010 to November 2011, Texas added 168,500 people to the labor force. From just October 2011 to November 2011, we added over 20,000 new workers; in the other 49 states, close to 150,000 dropped out.

America needs to start implementing policies we know will work based on experience. We can do this. We just need the right leadership, and the courage to end the statistical shell games that Washington uses to hide the truth from the American people.

Rick Perry - "I'm not ashamed to admit that I'm a Christian"

"I'm not ashamed to admit that I'm a Christian, but you don't need to be in the pew every Sunday to know there's something wrong in this country when gays can serve openly in the military but our kids can't openly celebrate Christmas or pray in school.

As President, I'll end Obama's war on religion. And I'll fight against liberal attacks on our religious heritage. Faith made America strong. It can make her strong again."

I'm Rick Perry and I approve this message.

Rick Perry Reboots Presidential Campaign

He acknowledges not being the best debater, but Republican presidential candidate Rick Perry said Sunday despite less than stellar performances, he will commit to five more, even though he thinks that's not the best way to reach the American people.

"I really like getting out and being able to talk to people, just like I'm talking with you today where you have time to lay out your ideas," Perry said on "Fox News Sunday," adding that he's learned to treat the race as a marathon, not a sprint.

And regardless of his recent debate performance, Perry said given the chance he could take on President Obama in a one-on-one over what he calls the president's "Frankenstein experiment" with the American economy.

"We got a great debater, a smooth politician in the White House right now, that's not working really good for America. If you want to know how someone is going to perform in the future, take a look at their past," he said.

Anne from PA - Texas Gov. Rick Perry

In his book, “Travels With Charley: In Search of America” John Steinbeck wrote, “Texas is a state of mind. Texas is an obsession. Above all, Texas is a nation in every sense of the word.”

In fact, Texas was a sovereign nation before it became the twenty-eighth state on Dec. 29, 1845. The sovereign country of Texas had diplomatic relations with, and embassies in London (which is now a restaurant but still flies the Lone Star flag) and in Washington, DC.

Unless you’ve lived in Texas for an extended period of time, or you know well some lifelong Texans, you probably don’t understand what Steinbeck was writing about.

Texas is, as are real Texans, unique. Texans value and fiercely defend their individual rights and their States ’ Rights.

For every American flag, that are ubiquitous, there are probably a thousand Lone Star flags waving. Most private mailboxes display the Lone Star flag, as do most homes, in one fashion or another.

And when traveling internationally, and when asked by customs or immigration where they’re from, it’s not uncommon for a Texan to answer, “Texas!”

Why is this important? Because if you don’t know this about Texas and Texans, you won’t understand Gov. Perry. It’s important to know because too often we hear people accuse Gov. Perry is a “big government” guy. He is NOT! In fact, one could argue that Gov. Perry values states’ rights and a small federal government more than any other governor in the country, and certainly more than any of the current Republican primary candidates. And without question, more than Obama.

Consequently, when it comes to the economy, and the continued Federal rules and regulations and intrusions into what are truly state issues, you have to know Gov. Perry is less than appreciative of their efforts.

Likewise, as president, Gov. Perry would be very sensitive and respectful of each and every state in the Union, and their rights, so as not to allow the federal government to intrude. In fact, if you actually listen to Gov. Perry’s speeches and interviews, you’ll hear him mention states’ rights vs federal government in any number of ways.

We know, as Gov. Perry and his campaign staff have already admitted, “debate” is not Perry’s strong point. Perry is not a flashy, slick speaker. What too many pundits have labeled as “having no fire in his belly” or “too hesitant” is rather Perry’s usual thoughtful and response.

Some were taken in by Obama’s “slick and flashy” speeches during the last campaign, and look what that got us! Do we want another “slick and flashy” talker, or do we want someone who responds thoughtfully and judiciously?

With Obama people were hearing more, and taken in by how Obama was talking rather than the actual words he was saying. We need to start listening to, and hearing more the words Gov. Perry is saying, and less to how he’s saying them.

If we’ve learned anything in the past two and a half years, it should be that we do NOT want a slick talker like Obama with no experience, and we DO want someone who speaks thoughtfully and chooses his words well, and has actual management experience.

And what could be better management experience than a governor of a state like Texas.

Think about this!

Governor Rick Perry:
  • Has been the Governor of Texas for ten years and has not installed income tax in his state (Perry will not raise taxes).
  • Is the true Conservative Millions of Texans voted for him for Governor three times.
  • Understands better than the other candidates how burdensome the Federal Government has become in this country.
  • Has created half of the jobs in America since Obama came into office and businesses are flocking to his state to do business.
  • Is a veteran Served his country.
  • Is for a strong Military.
  • Will not apologize to foreign governments.
  • Passed Tort Reform.
  • Is for less Government and States’ Rights.
  • Supported Arizona Immigration Law.
  • Spent $400 Million Texas State taxes into securing the 1800 mile Texas – Mexican border.
  • Has spent hundreds of millions of dollars defending the Texas Border with Mexico because the Federal Government would not).
  • Has the Texas Rangers on the border with Mexico.
  • Is Pro Life and has never wavered (unlike his Mass opponent).
  • Has defunded Planned Parenthood in Texas.
  • Is against Gun Control (unlike his Mass opponent).
  • Is against regulations from the Federal Government that stifle job growth.
  • Is pro energy exploration, he is for energy independence (Texas is an energy producing state like Alaska; he understands how to make it happen).
  • Will put a stake in the heart of ObamaCare as he promised (Mass Gov set up Romney Care, do we really know for sure that he will).
  • Has promised Social Security to all Seniors and those coming into it, but at the same time is willing to look at it being there for future generations).
  • Is a born again Christian.
Perry has often said, “Make the Federal Government INCONSEQUENTIAL in your private life”.

Robin of Berkeley - The Power of Herman Cain

Originally Posted on American Thinker
One of my first church experiences was also the most memorable. It was a spontaneous occurrence, when the power went out.

I was in a huge, mostly black church in a rough part of town. This was at a time when church shootings in that city had reached epidemic proportions.

The pastor had started delivering his sermon when suddenly most of the lights went out. The stage and the auditorium were very dimly lit.

Over a thousand people sat there in awkward silence. From what I could see of the stage, the minister and the staff who rushed to help looked worried and uncomfortable.

All of a sudden, an older black woman rose from the audience and strode confidently up to the stage. We all stared at her; no one had any idea what she was going to do.

When she reached center stage, she started singing, passionately, a cappella. She sang some sort of "Negro spiritual" (as they were once called), one that I had never heard before. Most of the black people in the audience applauded thunderously and stood up to sing along. Though the church was nondenominational, the majority of them were likely raised Baptist and were familiar with the songs.

I could see the excitement and feelings of pride on the faces of those standing and singing. They were not just sharing their history and songs. Their soaring spirit was shining a bright light in the darkness. One song led to another and another, and soon most of us, of every race, were standing up, clapping, and trying our best to sing along.

Once the lights went on, the minister again took to the stage. He appeared moved, astonished, really...swept away by the power of God to bring us all together peacefully in the darkness.

I thought of this amazing happening when I read about what Herman Cain decided to do when the power went out at his recent speech in Tennessee. He had just started delivering his talk when the generator fueling his mike failed.

After a few awkward moments, Cain did the most amazing thing, something perhaps unique in the annals of politics: he started singing -- and an apt song, "The Impossible Dream." Perhaps inspired by the power of music, Cain even ended his appearance with a hymn about God's infinite grace and forgiveness called "He Looked Beyond My Faults."

One could hardly imagine Obama handling the situation so seamlessly and graciously. When his teleprompter fails, Obama is usually rendered speechless or tongue-tied. My guess is that Obama also becomes irritated at the people running the show.

Yet Cain didn't flinch or get frustrated or angry. He did what my church friends did...he invoked music and joy and, even more importantly, God, the only true force that unites. Not surprisingly, the mostly white audience was dazzled.

What Cain did that day reminds me of the legacy of "Negro spirituals," of how blacks composed and sang them during slavery. Astonishingly, the slaves did not lose their faith, even amidst the horrors of slavery. Instead, they summoned God Himself through their sonorous songs. Rather than descend into misery and despair, the slaves sang words that invoked God's mercy and deep and abiding love.

What a staggering demonstration of character in those slaves, and in the people in my church, and Herman Cain himself. When the power went out, Cain reached for the highest of powers, the One who illuminates every church and every stage and everyone who cries out to Him.

Cain's impromptu serenade demonstrates that he understands the power of God to heal and unite and empower every situation. For this reason alone, he has the potential, in my eyes, to illuminate the White House.

Because the White House, and our own houses, will only...can only...be brightened by the spirit of God. And the fact that Cain understands this says to me that he may be the man to return God there.
To dream the impossible dream

To fight the unbeatable foe

To bear with unbearable sorrow

To run where the brave dare not go. . .

This is my quest, to follow that star,

No matter how hopeless, no matter how far

To be willing to give when there's no more to give

To be willing to die so that honor and justice may live. . .

And the world will be better for this

That one man scorned and covered with scars

Still strove with his last ounce of courage

To reach the unreachable star.

-"The Impossible Dream"

Gov. Rick Perry: What He’s Really Saying about ECONOMY?

Gov. Perry started and ended his jobs plan speech in the U.S. Steel Mon Valley Irvin Plant, Pittsburgh, with this statement,

“Make what Americans buy, buy what Americans make, and sell it to the world.”

America used to do that! And we did it without federal government interference and regulation and subsidies. We did it with American ingenuity and private enterprise. And as a result, America was wealthy and powerful, and we were the envy of the world.

Unlike Barack Obama who sees Americans as “soft” and obviously in need of government to take care of us, Gov. Perry knows the American people are strong, have “toughed it out,” but are looking for leadership instead of a nanny.

In approximately one hour Gov. Perry acknowledged more about who and what we are as Americans than has been acknowledged in over two and a half years, and he put before the American people what is probably the single most aggressive and do-able job creation plan that any of the Republican primary candidates so far.

Gov. Perry outlined a four point plan to reignite America that would put us, not on the road or path to recovery, but on a high speed expressway, and in the passing lane!
  1. Job creation
  2. Tax reform
  3. Entitlement reform
  4. Spending reductions in order to address our growing debt crisis
“But today I offer a plan that will create more than a million good, American jobs across every sector of the economy and enhance our national security, and the best news is it can be set in motion in my first 100 days.” Gov. Perry said.

Perry continued, “The plan I present this morning, Energizing American Jobs and Security, will kick-start economic growth and create 1.2 million jobs.”

Yet, Perry’s coverage was minimal and fleeting at best.

Saturday morning, even on FOX, Clayton Morris dismissively offered that 1.2 million jobs wouldn’t be forthcoming for years, after drilling began.

Obviously, Morris, like so many other tv anchors and pundits, are not only clueless, but for some reason simply will not do their homework and speak intelligently on the subject.

The fact is, hundreds of thousands of jobs will be created IMMEDIATELY as the oil companies begin upgrading and perhaps building new refineries, and start preparation to construct on shore drilling sites. In addition, hundreds of thousands of jobs will be created with the many ancillary companies that provide goods and services to the oil companies, such as companies that build drilling platforms for off shore drilling.

Yet, similar negative sound bites have been heard on any number of local and cable news outlets, as well as countless web sites.

Gov. Perry continued, “It can be implemented quicker and free of Washington gridlock because it doesn’t require congressional action. Through a series of executive orders, and other executive actions, we will begin the process of creating jobs soon after the inauguration of a new president.”

”We are standing atop the next American economic boom…energy.”

Gov. Perry also offered, “The quickest way to give our economy a shot in the arm is to deploy American ingenuity to tap American energy. But we can only do that if environmental bureaucrats are told to stand down.

The EPA and environmental bureaucrats have become almost gestapo-like federal agencies that have crippled American ingenuity and growth. We all want clean air, but the EPA and environmental bureaucrats have choked off our air supply, and are killing our country.

“My plan will break the grip of dependence we have today on foreign oil from hostile nations like Venezuela and unstable nations in the Middle East to grow jobs and our economy at home.”

These are two very important points that our next president needs to understand and be willing to stand up and address immediately.

While Barack Obama is putting forth yet another tax payer funded spending plan, the one thing the American people need to understand is that it is not now, nor has it ever been the government’s job or responsibility, nor does the federal government have the Constitutional authority to create jobs.

That has always been what private enterprise does, and does very well. Clearly Gov. Perry understands this, and knows that government’s only responsibility is to help create an environment for private enterprise to do what it does; produce goods and services that are needed by the American people.

“Make what Americans buy, buy what Americans make, and sell it to the world.”

Gov. Perry’s speech is well worth reading, perhaps a few times:

Robin of Berkeley - Which Republican Can Beat Obama?

Originally Posted on American Thinker

But who do I think could actually win against the Obama machine? A strong black man. . as in the brainy, charismatic Herman Cain.

One of the things I've been doing since I woke up from my leftist coma three or so years ago is closely observing Obama. I've been trying to figure out what makes the man tick.

My guess is that Obama had a terrible childhood, worse than we know. I wouldn't be surprised if there was quite a bit of abuse, as well as neglect. We all know about the continual abandonments.

Without much nurturance, but given the illusion of greatness by others, Obama has developed a Messiah Complex. He thinks he walks on water. There are not too many mere mortals who could intimidate him.

Obama made mincemeat of Hillary. While I am a huge Sarah fan, I think he'd do the same to her. The genial and gracious Michele -- he'd descend on her like a vulture. A white male, a Native American man. . . all the same. He and his handlers would chew them up and spit them out. But it would be different with an African American alpha male.

I think that someone like Cain could and would put Obama in his place. And though Obama would pounce on Cain, Obama's bark would be worse than his bite.

My guess is that Obama would feel weak around him; Obama would become the beta male he truly is deep inside, though he hides it. It's not a coincidence that Obama chose dominant black men as father figures such as Frank Marshall Davis and Rev. Wright.

I predict a more tongue-tied and intimidated Obama if he has to go up against Cain. For one thing, Obama is used to using race to silence white people. How much harder it would be for Obama to bulldoze and menace Herman Cain.

I see many other potential benefits of a qualified, black candidate like Cain. Certainly, Cain's running would neutralize the left's cries of racism. And their attempts to smear Cain as an "Uncle Tom" would reveal for all the world to see the inherent racism in the so-called progressive movement.

Cain as nominee would also draw new people to the Republican Party. Cain's straight-talking personal style and compelling message would attract blacks to the Party for the first time in eons. He would grab the imagination of dissatisfied blacks, particularly traditional families who have been skittish about joining the right.

A black man would also have the gravitas to articulate the core values of conservatism in a way that could appeal to minorities. Who knows? Given, Cain's down-to-earth manner and his strong character, he has the potential to be another Ronald Reagan.

Is it fair to choose a candidate partly based on race? Two words here: Barack Obama. Only the most hard-core and deluded leftist would argue that Obama's meager resume prepared him to be the Leader of the Free World.

With Obama nominated and installed based almost entirely on his race, choosing based on skin color along with integrity and intelligence is perfectly appropriate. Cain brings plenty of both to the table, along with common sense, business experience, and economic prowess. And, along with the sanity of a Cain presidency, wouldn't it be icing on the cake to have the first fully black president be a conservative?

Will I get my wish? God, I hope so. Anything is possible in this year's GOP horse race.

But from what I see, the strongest chance we have to reclaim the White House -- and perhaps to save this nation -- is Herman Cain. I just hope that the head honchos in the Republican Party, as well as the American people, see things the same way.

Herman Cain and the 'Cain Train'

Former restaurant-industry executive Herman Cain has catapulted to the lead in the race for the Republican presidential nomination, as GOP voters grow disenchanted with Texas Gov. Rick Perry and remain wary of former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, a new Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll finds.

Drawn by Mr. Cain's blunt, folksy style in recent debates, 27% of Republican primary voters picked him as their first choice for the nomination, a jump of 22 percentage points from six weeks ago.

Mr. Romney held firm in second place at 23%, his same share as in a Journal poll in late August, ...

Businessman Herman Cain saw Mitt Romney's 23 percent support rating in the latest Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll and raised him 4 points to take the lead in the latest survey of Republican White House hopefuls.

The former CEO of Godfather's pizza garnered 27 percent support in the telephone poll released Wednesday night, more than five times the 5 percent support he had in August. Romney's 23 percent remained the same.

Cain, a successful motivational speaker, has been gaining traction in recent weeks as an alternative to Romney, a former Massachusetts governor who is unpopular among many factions of the Republican party despite his near-constant frontrunner status.

Gov. Rick Perry - 'Heartless' Poor Word Choice In Immigration Debate

"In Texas, our efforts have focused on stopping the illegal flow of narcotics and people before they cross the border, rather than once they get here. It’s the philosophy that an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

We’ve spent about $400 million of our state tax dollars to put more boots on the ground, more helicopters in the sky and better intelligence in the hands of law enforcement.

And we’ve seen real results. Our surge in manpower has created major disruptions for the drug cartels and human smuggling rings. We’ve seized millions of pounds of drugs, taken 3,500 illegal weapons off the street and made America safer.

Securing the border and enforcing immigration laws are the federal government’s constitutional responsibility, and it’s time for Washington to do its job."

Herman Cain vs Lawrence O'Donnel

O’Donnell and Cain talked about so much more, as well, from a passage in Cain’s book where he describes “staying out of trouble” rather than directly participate in the civil rights movement, to Cain’s military service. O’Donnell, in fact, openly admonished Cain for his lack of participation in the movement — which, obviously, did not sit well with Cain one bit. “Did you expect every black student and every black college in America to be out there in the middle of every fight? The answer is no.”

Rick Perry - It’s President Obama Who’s Soft, Not the American People

Perry defended his strong record on immigration in Texas. He said that the problem is that the federal government has failed to secure the border, so as governor he has to deal with the problem.

He said that since illegal immigrants had already crossed the border, he had two options: to kick them to the curb or to educate them. The Texas legislature overwhelmingly voted to educate them. He said the real issue that people need to focus on is securing the border, which President Obama will not do.

Herman Cain's 999 Plan

Herman Cain grew up in Atlanta, Georgia with loving parents and little else. His father worked three jobs—as a janitor, a barber and a chauffeur—and his mother was a domestic worker. Even though these jobs required hard work and little glamour, his parents knew this life was better than the dirt farms upon which they grew up. They also knew that this hard work was the key to achieving their American Dreams.

Vision for Economic Growth
  • The natural state of our economy is prosperity. Freedom ensures that.
  • We must get the government off our backs, out of our pockets and out of our way in order to return to prosperity.
  • Policy uncertainty is killing the economy.
Economic Guiding Principles
  1. Production drives the economy, not spending.
    • We can not spend our way to prosperity.
    • Government spending IS taxation.
    • Government spending is like taking a bucket of water from the deep end of the pool, pouring it in the shallow end. Then they HOPE that the water level will CHANGE.
  2. Risk taking drives growth.
    • Business formation and job creation are dependent on entrepreneurs taking risks.
    • Investors who fund those entrepreneurs likewise take risks.
  3. Measurements must be dependable.
    • A dollar must always be a dollar just as an hour is always 60 minutes.
    • Sound money is crucial for prosperity.
We Must Unite Not Divide
  • When one party seeks to spend so that the other party must focus on cutting, we must unite around economic growth.
  • Unite all tax payers, don’t divide them into “income” tax payers vs. “payroll” tax payers.
  • Unite those wanting to eliminate deductions with those seeking lower rates.
  • As a first step, unite the “Flat-Taxers” with the “Fair-Taxers”.
Economic Growth is the Key
  • This is the worst recovery since the Depression.
  • If the President’s goal was to tie for last place with the previous worst recovery, he failed by 6 million jobs.
  • If we had a typical recovery, 13 million more Americans would be employed today.
  • That means more tax revenue, less government spending and 13 million less people opposed to reasonable spending cuts.
  • The Super Committee must deliver a robust growth solution.
  • America can’t wait for 2012, we need growth NOW.
Phase 1 - Immediate Boost
  • As I have outlined, the following represent the minimum for feeding the economic engine and are the “low hanging fruit” offering the most “bang for the buck”.
  • Reduce individual and business income taxes to a maximum 25%.
  • Eliminate taxes on repatriated foreign profits and capital gains.
  • The capital gains tax is a wall separating those with ideas from those with money.
  • Why would we want to wall off those with ideas? That’s where we get business formation, job creation and innovation.
  • When companies sell products overseas they face double taxation when those profits are brought home (repatriation) to invest in America and pay its workers.
  • Companies don’t ship jobs overseas, Liberals ship capital overseas and the jobs merely follow.
Phase 1 - Enhanced Plan
  • Current circumstances call for bolder action.
  • The Phase 1 Enhanced Plan incorporates the features of Phase One and gets us a step closer to Phase two.
  • I call on the Super Committee to pass the Phase 1 Enhanced Plan along with their spending cut package.
  • The Phase 1 Enhanced Plan unites Flat Tax supporters with Fair tax supporters.
  • Achieves the broadest possible tax base along with the lowest possible rate of 9%.
  • It ends the Payroll Tax completely – a permanent holiday!
  • Ends the Death Tax.
  • Business Flat Tax – 9%.
  • Gross income less all investments, all purchases from other businesses and all dividends paid to shareholders.
  • Empowerment Zones will offer additional deductions for payroll employed in the zone.
  • Individual Flat Tax – 9%.
  • Gross income less charitable deductions.
  • Empowerment Zones will offer additional deductions for those living and/or working in the zone.
  • National Sales Tax – 9%.
  • This gets the Fair Tax off the sidelines and into the game.
Phase 2 – The Fair Tax
  • Amidst a backdrop of the economic boom created by the Phase 1 Enhanced Plan, I will begin the process of educating the American people on the benefits of continuing the next step to the Fair Tax.
  • The Fair Tax would ultimately replace individual and corporate income taxes.
  • It would make it possible to end the IRS as we know it.
  • The Fair Tax makes our exported goods and services the most competitively internationally than any other tax system.
Phase 1 Enhanced Plan – Summary
  • Unites all tax payers so we all pay income taxes and no one pays payroll taxes.
  • Provides the least incentive to evade taxes and the fewest opportunities to do so.
  • Lifts a $430 billion dead-weight burden on the economy due to compliance, enforcement, collection, etc.
  • Is fair, neutral, transparent, and efficient.
  • Ends nearly all deductions and special interest favors.
  • Ends all payroll taxes.
  • Ends the Death Tax.
  • Features zero tax on capital gains and repatriated profits.
  • Lowest marginal rates on production.
  • Allows immediate expensing of business investments.
  • Dividend deductibility will help retirees, improve accounting, and moderate stock-option driven executive compensation.
  • Increases capital formation. Capital per worker drives productivity and wage growth.
  • Capital formation will aid capital availability for small businesses.
  • Features a platform to launch properly structured Empowerment Zones to revitalize our inner cities.
  • We all know the Fed has tripled the money supply since 2008. They have been printing money out of thin air to finance the Obama spending machine. While true Fed reform that restores sound money may have to wait for my election, the best thing we can do now is to pursue policies that increase the DEMAND for dollars to help mitigate the risks associated with the increase in the supply.
  • Pro-growth economic policies equal a strong dollar policy
